"A most comfortable, bright, spacious flat with magnificent views across the harbour."
It is an ideal place to stay when visiting Galloway. Not only is the accommodation excellent but there is private parking and so many places of interest nearby. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet holiday in a beautiful location.
Thank you for your lovely comments, I’m glad you enjoyed your stay, hope to see you again Property Owner

"Apartment was lovely with everything u need , amazing views of the harbour Due it being the winter Months everything shuts down pub not doing food Monday Tuesday evening and cafe shuts at 2."
30 so had to do a shop which is back to the main towns .Only problem for us was they Had no WiFi or phone signal at all in the apartment unless u went to the pub next door . We were only there for 3 days so wasn’t too bad but wish we had known Tv is way too small not the be all and end all but would have been nice for a normal size .

"We just had a really lovely week at 'tides reach', the apartment was very clean and comfortable with everything we needed."
The area is such a nice place to explore with plenty of good walks for us and Crosby (Springer Spaniel). Everywhere is dog friendly, we had some very good meals and met lots of friendly people both locals and fellow tourists. We are seriously intending to return to this part of the world. It is well worth a visit.
Thank you, so glad you enjoyed your visit and Crosby had a lovely time too. Property Owner

"All fantastic apart from no access to internet."
This might be because of the availability of internet access. We used the internet at the pub next door and connection was a bit hit and miss!
Thank you I’m glad you had a good time. I decided not to go for internet as like you said it’s very hit and miss and I didn’t want to advertise something that I couldn’t fully deliver on Property Owner

"We had a wonderful relaxing time."
The apartment was clean and comfortable with everything we needed. We were made to feel very welcome by the owner and everyone in the village was very friendly. It was our first visit to this part of Scotland and absolutely fell in love with Isle of Whithorn and the surrounding area. Can't wait to return.
So glad you had a lovely time and look forward to seeing you both again in the Isle Property Owner

"Lovely accommodation, everything we could need was there."
Great location, with easy walking on the doorstep. Pity I couldn't get a Wi-Fi signal, but a good excuse to go to the pub next door and sit outside using there's. Thank you so much. Andy. Teresa.
So glad you enjoyed your stay and thank you for your card Property Owner

"Nice little apartment in a fantastic location."
Comfy bed and sofa in the lounge wash comfortable. It was nice to have the collection of books and DVDs in the entrance area. Shower is really good. Lounge could of done with blackout blinds. Pots and cutlery etc were dirty/greasy on arrival. Lack of cleaning equipment i.e. mop/bucket or hoover
Thank you for your comments however I don’t supply mop and bucket as there is no where for them to be left safely, without causing a trip hazard a broom is provided for the hard floor for sweeping. I disagree with your comments re the cutlery and dishes. Most guests enjoy the view from the lounge windows so it would be a shame to have black out blinds, they are provided in the bedroom to ensure a good nights sleep. Property Owner

"It was all great, really."
It's the fifth time I've stayed, so something must be drawing us back. The owner is lovely - some nice, short chats. The flat is perfect for one or two, plus dog. This time I was alone, but knowing the area means there's nothing to think about. Really rather marvellous! X
Thank you for your lovely comments, it’s always great to see you and I’m glad you had another enjoyable visit to the Isle hopefully see you again Property Owner

"The shower head jets were mouldy."
It needs taking off ad asking in Milton - legionnaires. The towels didn’t dry properly because no heated towel rail and no towelling bathmat supplied. Privacy film on bedroom window onto car park would mean you could use it in the daytime without having to have the blackout blind down & light on. No Wi-Fi, but did know that, also poor phone signal. We found bed & pillows really uncomfortable. Job painfully slow to heat up. Can appreciate because of flood risk why investing in better might not be an option. Appreciate fire doors, but very heavy. Great location and local amenities which made it really. Without them, it was OK, adequate, but won’t be going back.
Cleanliness is my top priority which is appreciated by my guests as previous reviews show. I personally clean the apartments to ensure a high standard and have done so for the last 10 year.s. Thank you for your advice on how to clean a shower head, however after each guest departure I clean the shower heads with bleach and rinse thoroughly after, so I do not accept your comment saying it was mouldy. There is a heater below the towel rail so if you turned that on then your towels would have dried quicker. There is no gas in the village so electric hobs do take longer to heat up, I feel ceramic hobs are not practical for holiday lets due to them smashing when things are inadvertently dropped on them. I have had no comments previously regarding the pillows and bed being uncomfortable. There is no flood risk for the building as it is built to withstand any sea overlapping. I make no apology for the heavy fire doors and these are required for fire regulations and to ensure the safety of my guests. Our guests normally leave the apartment clean and tidy, which unfortunately was not the case on his occasion. It would have been nice to have been given notice about the blood stained bedding and mattress protector for health and safety reasons I am pleased therefore that these guests do not wish to return. "Janine our host was lovely, apartment was great."
Isle of Whithorn is a magical place to stay. Beautiful sunsets, gorgeous sea views lots of wildlife around. Only issue was winter quilt in mid to high twenties temps. To warm to sleep under so slept on top. Will definitely be back to visit soon!
I am so glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back. It was a very warm spell something we are not quite use to at that time of year. Property Owner

"Everything was perfect."
The flat was spotless and very comfortable. Janine met us when we arrived and explained how everything worked. The view was superb, right opposite the water. I can honestly say this has been one of the most relaxing breaks we have had in years. Will definitely be back.
I am so glad you had a lovely relaxing time, and look forward to seeing you again Property Owner

About the location
ISLE OF WHITHORN
Whithorn 4 miles; Garlieston 7 miles, Wigtown 14 miles; Newton Stewart 22 miles.
Referred to locally as 'The Isle', the Isle of Whithorn is designated an outstanding conservation area. The graceful crescent of shore and neat houses that make up the harbour presents a perfect spectacle in any camera’s viewfinder. Already in existence 1600 years ago, the community was at the very beginning of Scotland’s Christian history when Ninian, Scotland’s first missionary and saint, founded his church at Whithorn. The Isle Church itself, a former Free Kirk, stands prominent in defiance of the highest of tides. The Isle harbour, once the host of cargoes of coal, fertiliser and timber is now busy throughout the year with local boats fishing for crabs and lobsters, as well as catches of scallops brought in by the visiting Manx fleet. However, some of the best goes straight in through the doors of the award-winning Steam Packet Inn on the waterfront! Take a walk along the Harbour and enquire about local sea-angling opportunities. At the end of the Harbour, follow the signs for St Ninian’s Chapel and shortly you’ll come to the Witness Cairn. Just a short distance away stands the 14th century ruin of St Ninian’s Chapel, once a place where pilgrims were welcomed and now in the care of Historic Scotland. It’s an easy climb up the Cairn to the distinctive white tower which has been a mariner’s landmark for close on two centuries. At the top you can behold the majestic expanse of the Solway and the Irish Sea. Across the water lie the great peaks of Cumbria’s Lake District, while due south lies the Isle of Man, its nearest point just 18 miles away. The Isle is a welcoming port for visiting leisure sailors and bowlers too. So please bring your boat and your bowls! At the Isle you will discover a tranquil place that is much more than just a view. Welcome to the Isle!
