"This is a lovely property and was in a perfect location for our family wedding weekend."
Whilst the property has many good features and is certainly spacious enough to accommodate 12 adults, sadly there is a distinct lack of basic essentials, attention to detail and some maintenance issues which need addressing, many of which have already been mentioned by previous occupants. The kitchen is well equipped, with an extra fridge/freezer provided, and overall very clean apart from some of the crockery, which I assume is down to previous occupants but should be checked by cleaner. Bedrooms all had comfy beds and lovely clean bed linen but definitely need basics like bedside tables, lamps, mirrors, etc. There’s enough bathrooms with lovely fluffy towels provided but again just lacking in details such as shelf space, mirrors, etc. The master en-suite could do with a screen/shower curtain too. As mentioned by previous occupants, we had to call the owner re key arrangements, however, he was very friendly and accommodating. I do hope the owners take on board the constructive suggestions by previous occupants and myself as this property is so lovely but just lacking in some areas and certainly the maintenance issues need addressing promptly. At the price we paid, it was not value for money - weeks before our visit the weekends surrounding ours had been drastically reduced which was very frustrating and unfair as we had booked months in advance - a matter we are pursuing with Sykes. Having said all that, these things didn’t spoil our visit and we had a wonderful weekend with family celebrating our son’s wedding and the comfy beds were very welcome!

"This cottage is absolutely perfect for a large group of adult sharers or families."
Spacious, comfortable and well equipped with an enormous garden (in which we held our very own sports day!) The kitchen provided lots of space and equipment and the bedrooms were also spacious and comfortable. (The only thing we would request is a few more mirrors in the bedrooms). The owner was friendly and helpful and we highly would recommend this cottage. Thanks for a lovely stay.

"We had a good week and were lucky with the weather."
There were many issues with the house which could have been potentially dangerous. 1. The handle on the inside of the conservatory doors was broken off completely which I informed the landlord of when he rang. 2. Both the downstairs and main bathroom toilets seats did not fit properly and slid from side to side when attempting to sit on them, dangerous with a disabled 80years using the downstairs one, she actually lost her balance when trying to sit carefully on the seat. 3. The hot tap in the downstairs toilet was loose and moved every time you attempted to use it, again this meant that the downstairs sink could only have cold water which was not suitable for washing in. 4. The plug in the downstairs toilet was stuck so could hold no water. The elderly guest had to wash in cold running water. 5. Most dangerous of all I think was the shower in the main bathroom. There was no way of mixing cold with the hot and I personally was scolded when attempting to use the shower. The heat of the water made the shower un-useable. This meant 6 people showered in the en-suite on the first floor. 6. No instructions on how to use the cooker were provided and we had to google the make to actually be able to cook. 7. No information was provided about the waste bins, the pervious guests had put glass , can and rubbish in the bin, we used our common sense and put our rubbish in the bins that were appropriate. It did not look as though the dustbins had been emptied for 2 - 3 weeks, this meant there were a lot of files around all of the time. 8. Not one door shut properly and our in the front double bedroom was so stiff it was causing a grove in the carpet where it obviously needed sanding. The elderly guest needed to keep her door locked at night to ensure it stayed shut. 9. No information/welcome pack was provided to give us all the information we needed about the wi-fi, the use of the electrical appliances in the kitchen, when the dustbins needed to go down for emptying. This would have been very useful. 10. Our dog needed to be closely monitored as there was broken glass in the garden, my brother picked a lot of glass up and disposed of it. Whilst we had a good week, these points caused a lot of annoyance and concern particularly for the elderly guest and the other members of the party. I hope these issues are addressed for the next guests although having read the previous comments it appears nothing has been done about it.

"The Limes was spacious and very clean with a well equipped kitchen and conservatory and excellent parking facilities."
The garden was large with tables for eating outside. The owner checked that we had arrived safely. However there were several omissions regarding the details. In each bedroom there should be a bedside table, a bedside reading lamp, a chair, a mirror and a hand towel to go with the bath towels. The loft bedroom did not have blinds on the 2 vellux windows. The bathroom needs a door hook for towels and a shelf in the shower cubicle. The washroom downstairs needs a mirror. The kitchen needs a cafetière or fresh coffee machine. The front gate posts should have the house number as it was difficult to locate the actual property. There should be a house folder containing information about the wi fi code, bus timetable, attractions etc. There were no dishwasher tablet and no extra toilet rolls. The arrangements for receiving the key code are vague and uncertain. The code was only received the day before. Sykes should take responsibility for this rather than the clients having to phone the owner. If these small details are addressed this would be an excellent 5 star property.

"We enjoyed our stay in Harston, an excellent location for visiting Cambridge."
The house was very clean but first impressions disappointed. There were no coffee tables in either of the 2 lounges and no bedside tables. For a house sleeping 14, the dining facility of one table and 8 chairs in the conservatory was poor. We had to bring in a picnic table from the garden. Cutlery was also in short supply (eg 13 forks). The garden was unsuitable for the children (and dog) to play in as there was glass and rubbish around. To be fair to the owner, he came out to resolve some of our issues and by midweek had arranged for the garden to be tidied and he also produced 3 bikes for the boys to use to get to the park in the village. Just a pity it was not done earlier.

"Perfect house for a holiday"

"This is a really Good house and we were very happy there."
Clearly a great deal of work has been done on the house. The kitchen is very well equipped and everywhere was spotlessly clean. Still a few “finishing touches” required eg some bedside cabinets and small tables in lounges. And the garden, whilst huge, would benefit from clearing up bits of loose glass from the greenhouse and needs something to prevent dogs/children wandering into the front and road. But this was a superb place and we would definitely book again when visiting Cambridge.
