  • "12 Deva Terrace is spacious and attractive with a lot of character."

It has lovely open views over the River Dee and beyond. The location was quiet but close to the Centre and easy to walk around. A perfect place to relax after exploring with good outdoor space.

Just a few things that we think yiu should be aware of. The left hand side of the toaster doesn’t work And the freezer looks like it needs defrosting as is leaking and looks like it has for some time as the kitchen end panel is water damaged. This did not impact our stay it is more of a courtesy notification so as you can act on these issues. Thankyou for letting us use your home and will hopefully be up in Chester again very soon. Conwy Castle, Bodnant Garden, Chirk Castle & RHS Garden Bridgewater all within one hour's drive. Could do with more than one bath towel and one hand towel per person for a week's stay.

  • "This was an amazing property."

A lot of love for the property and to make the stay as wonderful as possible for their guests. The beds are very comfortable. It’s in a great location for walking around the town. My only criticism is that they must upgrade their router. The Roku streaming stick could only connect to it when the TV was moved so it had a line of direct sight to it! And wifi in some of the rooms upstairs was non existent. If you are visiting with teenagers or anyone who likes to stream films then that is extremely problematic. They should also install a network extender upstairs. If not for the wifi this is a 5 star property!

  • "Guests need to remember the stairs are very steep and that the downstairs toilet should only be used to urinate in."

It would have been good to have a dining table in the living room area so that we could sit in comfort when eating - the one in the kitchen was small and in a cramped space. Also the parking was a bit of a problem - the whole terrace needs to get together to paint white lines on the road to ensure everyone parked properly. However, these may sound like big moans - they are not - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and being so near to the city centre was excellent.

  • "A great stay in Chester."

Property is beautiful and very well decorated. View of the River Dee one of the best we’ve seen, and the terraced garden was wonderful to sit on to enjoy the cool breezes off the river. The decor itself is very grand and just as seen in the photos; very accurate. Location is good, close to Grosvenor Park, the river bank, and the city centre of Chester. One issue; the WiFi is very weak in rooms other than the TV lounge/kitchen area. It often kept reconnecting, and in the master bedroom and the bunk bed room, it went off for some periods of time and we had to disconnect/reconnect etc. This improved towards the end of the trip but was a major issue on the first night. Other than that, we were there during the unprecedented summer 2022 heatwave and a portable fan or something of that sort could be provided given that this is the new normal. But I’m really clutching at straws here, as such a fan isn’t expected and the WiFi I’m sure will be fixed. Highly recommended property in Chester, and we will be staying here whenever we next visit the city!

Incredible view of the river, so much so it was tempting to sit and watch the boats and canoes all day! But also easy walking distance to the multiple delights of Chester (we didn't take the car out at all!) Not to forget the bottle of wine and milk awaiting us on our arrival. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

  • "This is a beautiful house which is very convenient for a stay in Chester."

You can walk along the river into the City or the road. It is also near to the canal. There is a convenience store within minutes or a large Waitrose. The house is well equipped with a generosity in terms of things like dishwasher tablets and toilet rolls. The property description does not include the microwave. As per other comments the recycling and bin system is excellent. One thing the owners may like to do is make the wall with exactly where the parking space is (some of the other owners had done that) as one of the other people kept parking in a way that made it harder for us to get into the space. It's not vital but if we had a bigger car it could have made it harder to get in and out of the parking space.

It is a very short walk to the centre of Chester with its shops, restaurants and Roman history The house is spacious, clean and well equipped. They have a good recycling system which we value, particularly as many cottages don't have these facilities We left feedback that one of the beds was a bit uncomfortable and were told they had acted straight away and replaced the mattress.

The only downside is that it is not pointed out how steep the stairs are. This was an issue with an 81year old, as was the couple of angled stairs on the landing for going to the toilet in the night. Otherwise the place is superb in every way. The location, the quietness, the cleanliness - all perfect.

There is limited parking space due to the age of the property, I struggled to get past larger vehicles parked before No 12s allocated space. So if you have an estate or large SUV look to arrange for alternative parking during your visit.

It would have been helpful to have had warning about the parking. We had difficulties due to the way one of the neighbours who lived further down parked and the size of our car. Not sure if that neighbour was supposed to park there as she did not live next door but she always parked at an awkward angle, making it difficult for us to get out. This made it difficult to use the car during our stay. Luckily my partner is a good driver and the next door neighbour also helped guide us out but it did spoil our stay a bit.

Very comfortable with everything and more in the house. However, the property is over three floors with a flight of stairs up to the bedrooms and bathroom and a flight of stairs down to the "snug" and out to the garden. These stairs are from the lounge/ dining area/ kitchen and back yard access from the car park. This is not a suitable property for disable access and it does not mention it in the literature in the house. It was a delight to stay there but we are very fit.

First time in a rented property. Had all essentials in kitchen with clementines /mince pies left for us ( thank you !). Very well looked after. Felt instantly at home. Decor is gorgeous and classic. Kitchen was superb and to have access to a snug with a log fire was perfect for the cold winter evenings. Maybe a small investment could be made into the sofas for comfort. There is a day bed In addition and the design is in keeping but a comfy sofa would be more beneficial to families. We will most definitely be wanting to stay in this property for our next visit. Stunningly beautiful

My only quibble would be that foam mattresses are unpleasant, especially in the heat! I don't think the house would be suitable for a young family or any adult with mobility issues-the stairs are problematic. The area was charming, and far more interesting than we had anticipated. My husband is coeliac, and we found plenty of good restaurants which took this seriously, and could offer great service which is a pleasant contrast to being invited to go elsewhere! The public parks are well- maintained, and apart from the city centre you never feel oppressed by the number of tourists that coaches regularly deliver.

I felt that the gardens had not been taken care of and looked rather shabby and overgrown. The patio was full of weeds and rather mucky and the steps down to the grassed area on the river were difficult to get down because of the overgrowth. The house very slowly warmed up. The house was also quite dusty. I could write my name in the dust on the floors, the mantlepiece, etc. cutlerly in the kitchen was there but of a very awkward design (like a dagger). It was not thoroughly clean either. We found dirty crockery in the dishwasher, left behind by previous guests. The bed in the master-bedroom was very hard and quite uncomfortable. All things considered, a bit dissapointing. About the location

CHESTER

Liverpool 17 miles; Manchester 36 miles.

Chester has quite rightly been described as 'the jewel of the North-West of England'. Perhaps the most fascinating aspect of the city is that within a very small area there is evidence of every period of history - from the old walls and amphitheatre of Roman times, through medieval churches, Elizabethan timber-framed townhouses and Georgian terraces, to Victorian restorations and 21st century architecture. The city has much to offer the tourist, including excellent shopping in and around the famous Tudor 'Rows' and lovely walks along the Roman Walls, beside the River Dee and through the picturesque Grosvenor Park. Explore Chester's beautiful medieval cathedral, visit Chester Racecourse or spend a day at the world renowned Chester Zoo. Further afield, the stunning Welsh mountains and coastline, the quaint market towns and villages of Cheshire and the Wirral Peninsula with its first class golf courses, are all within easy touring distance, whilst frequent rail services make Liverpool, Manchester and the North Wales coast readily accessible.
