• "Rainbows End is such a lovely home away from home!"

  It is modern, clean and very well maintained. The rooms are spacious and it is in such a quiet area. Hilary is a fantastic host and couldn’t do enough to help and make us feel at home.

• "I was on holiday at this property from Friday 27th 2024sept until 4 October."

  2024 The property is very clean and there is every utensil you will require for self catering if you wish. All rooms are very spacious. As are the living areas Lovely garden with tables and chairs in a covered area behind the garage. I met with the owner Hillary who is a lovely lady., The property is situated in a very quiet area, If you are thinking of visiting Chester for a holiday I would highly recommend this property,

• "Rainbows End was the 36th self catering property I have stayed in over the past 20 years and was clearly the best of the 36."

  I would be hard pressed to suggest any improvement, unless the owner could arrange better weather!

  Dear Lillian and John, I hope your journey home was not beset by the horrendous wind and rain which plagued the country. Thank you for the lovely review of Rainbow’s End. Our aim has always been to exceed our guests’s expectations and I thank you for letting us know that we have. Alas, the weather! However, because we have a micro climate, we were more frequently than not, being sheltered by the Welsh hills, have better weather than most in the country. Occasionally the weather forces makes up it mind to give us a battering, and so we take the good and the bad. It was very enjoyable having a chat with Lillian and yourself, and I thank you for your kind thoughts that I could possibly join your huge team of electricians you ran before your retirement! ‍♀️ Best regards and hope to see you again when Chester makes its way into your list. • "Hilary the owner met with us on arrival and showed us around this beautiful property."

  There was everything we needed and more. Just the perfect location for sightseeing in Chester, Liverpool and surrounding areas. People were so helpful and friendly. We only stayed 4 nights but would have liked to stay longer. Would definitely recommend this property,

• "This is one of the most amazing, beautiful, stunning place that me and my family has stayed in."

  It is definitely recommended to anyone that are visiting Chester. It is not too far from supermarkets,retail parks, beaches and activities within a drive away. Thank you to Hilary/Brian you have been amazing.

  Absolutely spotless. Every appliance is top of the range. Very spacious and comfortable. Lovely garden to sit out in. would 100 percent recommend. Pretty village ..shop gastropub... lovely hostess.

• "Access to the property was very easy without any problems as was unloading since the drive and the front door were very close."

  The photographs and description were accurate and it was exceptionally clean and tidy. The owner lives in the village and she dropped by a few hours after we had gained entry to check that all was as it should have been. She also explained how to switch on the heating if it was required. We found the kitchen was well equipped for our needs and the garden set up would have been wonderful if the weather had not been so wet. The beds were comfortable and the shower worked well with plenty of hot water whenever we needed it. The heating worked well for the two evenings when it was colder than expected for the time of year. The kitchen diner/sitting room is very spacious and comfortable as was the smaller sitting room at the front of the house. TV reception was good and both the televisions have a range of apps for streaming depending on your subscriptions. The wifi worked very well in all areas of the house. Rainbows end is close to the centre of the village which has a small general shop that is open in the evenings and opposite is a public house (0.5 miles walk) that serves good local beer, food and non-alcoholic drinks. In addition there is a small coffee shop but it is closed on Monday & Tuesday. There is a second public house based on the nearby Shropshire Union canal that also offers accommodation and food (0.5 miles walk along the towpath). The nearest supermarket (&petrol) is 1.5 miles away just past the local Premier Inn ( called the Chester Central south east Premier Inn hotel). All in all a great let and since we have family nearby we hope to be returning at some stage.

• "What an amazing stay ."

  The house and area was so peaceful. This is one of the best stays we have ever had . We'll equipped house . We had everything we needed for a relaxed stay . Our host went over and beyond to make our stay pleasant and comfortable. Thank you

• "We were very happy with the holiday home at Rainbow's End."

  We wanted a place that was within striking distance of Liverpool but at a reasonable price and this fitted the bill. It was well proportioned, modern and clean with all the facilities and utensils you could wish for. It was a home away from home during a difficult time. We were grateful for the kindness of the owner who met us both at the beginning and end of our stay and made us feel very welcome. We can heartily recommend this holiday home!
