  • "Lovely house with lots of space for everyone."

The hot tub was amazing as was the balcony with its lovely view! Providing towels for the hot tub was also a great bonus! Location is perfect a close drive to Chester zoo, Cheshire oaks, blue planet aquarium etc The park and ride was less than a 10 min drive away to get into Chester which was also great. The owners were lovely when we messaged about a query about the travel cot and they answered straight away. We were initially worried about the business on site as we stayed Monday to Friday there was a little bit of noise every so often but it was not enough to bother us. The only recommendation would be to have another arm chair in the downstairs lounge as someone always had to sit on the dining room chair which wasn’t comfortable for longer periods. As a family we all enjoyed our stay and would recommend this house to others and would book again!

The rooms had very impressive size. The location was OK, closed to Chester. The few issue was that, the upper larger bedroom 2 single bed was a bit less comfy, and the towels were a bit smaller size. Everything else were

  • "Beautiful place with gorgeous furniture."

Easy to find. The ad says ‘ businesses on site’ - i did not expect to be separated from them by standard internal doors- the downstairs one has a window and i could see people standing there chatting- the dog went mad. I could hear every word they were saying, as well as upstairs. So we also felt we had to speak quietly so as not to disturb them. 8 am noise from them did not allow for a quiet lay in. ‘Offices in the building in the adjoining rooms’ would be more accurate. Main back door key very difficult to use especially locking from the outside. Both bathrooms downstairs is a bit of a mission re mobility issues. I didn’t see this very important fact in the ad either. I thought, from the photos that the large grass area was part of the rented property - i chose this property with this in mind for the dog, so was disappointed with the small fake grass area. Ad says ’garden with lawn’ not small area with fake grass. I would not have booked if i had known this.

We're extremely pleased to hear that you thought the place was beautiful. However, we are sorry to hear that you felt like the businesses being on site detracted from this. We have tried to make this clear on the listing which says that noise may be heard between 8am and 5pm. We did also try to make your stay as comfortable as possible, including washing the duvet for you free of charge. We do value guest feedback and take on your point about the bathrooms, so will ask Sykes to update the listing. The large grassed area is available for guests to use and we have many compliments about the outside area that we offer so we're again sorry that this did not match up to your expectations. • "The grounds are lovely but it’s not private at all, there is a business next door which you can hear people going in and out of the building from 9-4 which made the dogs bark non stop so it wasn’t relaxing at all."

Then we had a man come to wash people cars who parked right outside the barn and was there for around 4/5 hours washing different cars so we couldn’t even use the hot tub as we felt like we were being watched. There were spiders in LITERALLY every single room not just one or two either!! We left earlier than our stay too as it just wasn’t comfortable at all.

Thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry to hear to that you have had a bad experience. The businesses on site do not normally affect people's stay so we are extremely sorry to hear that it affected yours. The listing does include that there are businesses on site, however, following your feedback, Sykes have updated the listing to ensure that this is clearer. We have started using a local cleaning company so following your feedback, we have been in touch with them to ensure the cleanliness is up to our standards. We pride ourselves on offering a great experience for all our guests which we have done for many years when the listing was on Airbnb (the listing is still on Airbnb to view only if people want to read all of our previous positive reviews). Again, thank you for your feedback and apologies again. Property Owner
