  • "Property was more spacious than photos looked."

    Lovely cottage, well furnished and nice outdoor space relax in. Excellent showers . Had everything we needed. Hosts live nearby and were helpful and friendly. Excellent base for Chester with interesting the shops of Hoole village just 5 mins away. Also well located for sightseeing further afield eg Bodnant Gardens in North Wales and Biddulph Gardens in Shropshire. Highly recommend this cottage for a relaxing getaway .

  • "Amazing place so well equipped."

    The welcome pack is the best I have ever had with a loaf of bread and fresh eggs. Everything is provided loo roll, we had sufficient for the whole week. Dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid etc. Highly recommended its 10* from us and will be back. Jill and Jane are amazing and on hand to help if needed. Lovely cortyards to sit in. Sandra & Eddy

  • "Wee had such a warm welcome from Jill and Jane and the starter package was gratefully received."

    They couldn't have been more helpful thought our stay. The old stables have been renovated to a high quality, with a lot of love and detail. Only one little thing was the downstairs bed was a bit squeaky when trying to sleep at night, may just need tightening up. Thanks for such a lovely time.

  • "Not as noisy as I feared, on the map the cottage appeared to be close to 2 busy roads but the courtyard was a delightful spot for an Al fresco drink."

  • "This is our second visit to The Stables, this is a real home from home for us."

    A friendly welcome from our hosts, this holiday home does not disappoint, it,s clean, warm in the winter & cool in the summer, so we'll appointed & has an outside courtyard. The location of The Stables is just great for visiting the area, we covered from Porthmadog to Llandudno, Broughton to Chester & on to Liverpool. We managed to cover a lot of what we wanted to do, but could not achieve all as there is so much to do, so we will just have to return again to cover what we missed ASAP. Looking for places to dine, then you could try The Architect in Chester, Chicquitos in Broughton, Barnacles or Lounge in Llandudno. Places to visit, then Chester City plus boat ride, Chester Zoo, Liverpool One for shopping & Albert Docks is a must, plenty of National Trust houses, castles & gardens, Llandudno tram to the Great Orme, Ffestiniog steam railway mountain spirt 3 hour round trip & Portmeirion just has to be seen, visit their ice cream parlour & sample the Welsh Whisky flavour. Thanks to our hosts at The Stables Chester, it's been an absolutely brilliant stay again, made all the more comfortable & relaxing due to the care & attention you have put into the property & your friendly approach.   • "A great little cottage and a fab stay!"

    Many thanks to Jill and family who are incredible hosts. We had a wonderful Easter break in this delightful cottage. It was home from home and had everything we needed and the perfect place to unwind and enjoy some time away. Our dog Raggy was made to feel very welcome and also had a great time. It was a good base for us to visit Llangollen, Anderton, Chester and Ellesmere Port. We'll definitely be back for more exploring of this fabulous area. Thank You!

  • "A fabulous stay at an excellent well equipped property, felt like home from home."

    Spacious, clean and inviting. Fantastic Access to all nearby attractions , including Chester zoo, city centre and Cheshire Oaks. Jill and Jane were fabulous hosts , very approachable for advice about the nearby surroundings, we received a welcome pack at the cottage and they gave us a warm and friendly welcome.   • "Prior to our arrival, we had been contacted & kept updated."

    We were greeted by our hosts with a warm welcome to the property, a welcome pack, with a tour & handover with additional tips on local places of interest, plus places to dine. The Stables is a well appointed warm & cosy property, with all the home comforts that you could wish for. We had planned to visit the area for a relaxing pre-Christmas break, of which was made all the more enjoyable by the warm welcome, amazing property & location. We were sad to leave at the end of our stay, but will be returning again early 2025. A really heartfelt Big Thank You to the hosts.

  • "This is a delightful, very dog friendly holiday cottage with fabulous facilities, very warm and comfortable and spotlessly clean."

    The owners were so very helpful and rightly very proud of the cottage they have created from the old stable and kennel block. Many original features were evident but also they have given great attention to detail and comfort. We highly recommend this lovely place which is close to historic Chester so plenty to see and do.

The property

The Stables is a detached, stable conversion set next to the owner’s home on the outskirts of Chester, Cheshire.

Enjoying a quiet location just a short distance from the city centre, The Stables is a first-class escape for a family looking to explore the best of Chester.

Step inside and follow the ceramic tiled flooring into the lounge, where you can cosy up beside the electric fire and choose something to watch on the Smart TV.

Carry the conversation into the kitchen/diner, where you can chat with the designated chef whilst they prepare a hearty meal, or set up the dining table with crockery and cutlery.

As the night falls, find the master bedroom on the ground floor, housing a king-size bed with high ceilings and an en-suite shower, whilst the second bedroom is upstairs and offers a double with an en-suite shower.

Each of the bedrooms also features Smart TVs so that you can continue your favourite shows to bed.
