Everything you could possibly need has been provided. It's in an ideal position for visiting Cheshire and North Wales and with a regular bus route into Chester it means not having to always use the car. Rita and Ian were welcoming and friendly and I highly recommend this cottage. I plan to return next year. Thank you.

Its location met all our requirements as a base to visit local attractions in and around Chester and was quiet and peaceful. It was spotlessly clean and had all the facilities we could possibly have asked for. We received a really warm welcome from our landlady on arrival and she could not have been more helpful. We had an excellent break and would not hesitate in returning in the future.

The buses to Chester from Tarvin village are frequent and inexpensive if you don`t fancy taking the car. Our hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much and hope to return in the not too distant future.

The cottage is just outside Tarvin, next to the old mill and in the countryside. It has a cute back garden but unfortunately it was a bit too cold to take advantage of it. The owners live next door which is useful and a few essential provisions were provided for our arrival. High standard of finishing throughout. Had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. Location great. Do not be put off with the Mill & other business behind cottage as we NEVER heard any noise from them. Parking is immediately outside cottage but owner is in talks to obtain land opposite to allow for a better parking space. Still not an issue though. We sat out in the garden a number of times & it is beautiful & peaceful & only 10 minute walk into Tarvin High St.

About the location

TARVIN

Chester 6 miles.

Tarvin is a bustling village just 6 miles from historic Chester. Tarvin boasts several shops, good pubs serving food and a wine bar bistro. Nearby Delamere Forest and Manley Mere offer activities for those who enjoy more of the outdoor life. Chester has been described as 'the jewel of the North-West of England' - Perhaps the most fascinating aspect of the city is that within a small area there is evidence of every period of history; from the old walls and amphitheatre of Roman times, medieval churches, Elizabethan timber-framed town houses and Georgian terraces, to Victorian restorations and 21st century architecture. The City has much to offer the tourist, including excellent shopping, the famous 'Rows', and lovely walks within the city boundaries - around the old Roman Walls, along The Groves beside the River Dee or through the picturesque Grosvenor Park. Further afield, the stunning Welsh mountains and coastline, and the market towns and villages of Cheshire, are all within easy touring distance, whilst the nearby Wirral Peninsula has many splendid courses to tempt the golfing enthusiast.
