...Be better having 3 6x6 posts, floor to ceiling, dividing bed from living area...altogether a lovely, quite area for walk etc...the Alyn a lovely pub...

Hi Victor Thanks for your feedback and I'm sorry that you found the sofa uncomfortable. With regard to the rings on the ceiling, there are usually plants hanging inside them, but as my wife explained when you checked in, as you had arrived early, they were still being watered. We therefore didn't like to disturb you to hang them up. However we would have been delighted to have removed the rings from the ceiling for you had you let us know. As in your case if the property is ready before the stated the check in time we do like to try and accommodate rather than sending you away. We have considered posts as a means of dividing the space up, but the plants allow for more of a flexible option. I'm glad you were able to enjoy the local area for walks and make use of the pubs and we would be delighted to see you back again in the future Kind regards Duncan Property Owner

  • "We had a great stay at The Cottage@The Coach House."

When we arrived though, we did have trouble putting our belongings into the accommodation, as there are so many ‘home comforts’. There was barely enough room for our luggage and food etc. The kitchenette is small, with very little storage space for food. Also, the icebox in the fridge was completely snowed/iced-up, and still contained some previous peoples food, so we had to defrost it before we were able to put our own food into it. That said, Duncan, who arrived home later that day (he lives in adjoining property), was extremely helpful and friendly, and was keen to help us in any way he could. He removed the hanging plants from the ceiling and a some other bulky/excess items that were not needed. He also gave us very helpful advise about visiting the local areas. The cottage is set in the grounds of an Elizabethan Manor House, and is pretty and peaceful. It is also well placed for exploring the local areas and has some good pubs nearby.

Many thanks for your feedback, so pleased you enjoyed your stay, apologies regarding the left over food in the ice box, and many thanks for bringing this to my attention I can assure you that this will not happen again, with regards to the freezer, we have now updated the description on the web site more accurately. We do hope to welcome you back in the future. Kind regards Property Owner

  • "You are not supposed to park directly outside the property which could be a problem for people with walking (MS) difficulties, the information directions are not correct and the three large pot plants that are hanging from the ceiling are a pain they are only about 5 foot from the ground you can’t move without bending down and the number of times we both banged our heads on them."

We would not recommend this property we left 2 days early.

Thank you for your feedback and firstly Millie and I would like to express how disappointed we are that you did not enjoy your stay at our property. To run through and clarify your points I will address them one by one. Firstly regarding the directions, we absolutely agree that our property is quite difficult to find, one of its unique attributes being that we are set in a peaceful location. With this in mind we individually contact each guest on the day of arrival in order to send them a more detailed list of instructions which also includes photos. When I noticed you had not opened this message I sent you a text message at 14.30 explaining that I had sent these. I did not receive a response from you until 17.30 when you told me you had been looking for the property for an hour despite at no point trying to call before hand for directions. I immediately called you back on receiving your message and talked you in. Regarding parking, we have an allocated parking space for our guest at the top of our drive, in order for our guests to freely come and go without the worry of us blocking anybody in on our fairly narrow drive. Once you explained to me in a more calm fashion than in your initial conversation that your wife had a health condition, I gladly directed you to park your car within 2 metres of the cottage entrance, which is where you parked for the rest of your stay. Regarding the plants, thank you for this feedback, as the property is a studio we use these to divide the space, however we do understand that they may get in the way for some guests, I am sorry you feel you were not able to mention this to me on the several occasions I asked if everything was ok as it would have taken no more than a minute to unhook them and take them down for you. I hope this response helps clarify the issues for Mr Grenville and helps assure other guests reading this as to the standard of the accommodation. Property Owner
