  • "Garden View was a lovely bungalow from which we based our holiday in Cornwall."

It was perfectly placed, minutes away from Newquay and all major roads to place like Eden Project and Tintagel Castle. The bungalow itself was lovely, lots of space and all the home comforts you could wish for. Alison the owner was quick to sort a problem with the heating for us and I felt she was very helpful. The information sheets she supplied were full of useful hints of where to eat, shop and visit. We would definitely stay here again, and hope to the next time we are in Cornwall.

Thank you for your kind words and so pleased you enjoyed your time at Garden view. I’ll look forward to welcoming you back in the future Alison Property Owner

Thank you Alison for your help and great communication. We would highly recommend. It is central to all parts of Newquay and in a quiet area. A visit to the Garden Centre cafe The Potting Shed is a must. We took Bobby to a number of dog friendly beaches around Newquay. The area is lovely and we hope to return to explore more and would book this property again.

  • "We came from Germany to Cornwall and stayed for two weeks at Garden View."

We have to say that we had a really good time. The contact with Alison in advance and during the stay was always easy and she is very helpful. The cottage had everything we needed for our stay. The kittchen was very well equiped. And the dining room in the conservatory is really great. The beds are very comfortable and the bathroom has everything you need. The garden was great for our dog and is completely enclosed with no possibility to escape, even for little dogs. The town of Quintrell Downs is located a few miles from Newquay and a bus stop is located only a short foodwalk from the cottage. We mostly used the bus for trips to the coast and never had to wait very long for the next bus to come. There are some very nice pubs located in a foodwalk distance of the cottage. The surrounding area is really wonderful. There are so many things to do and see in Cornwall that our two weeks were not enough to explore all what we wanted. And we have to mention that this is a very dog friendly region as our Sammy was very welcome nearly everywhere we went. So we give a high recommendation for a stay at Garden View.

  • "We stayed at Garden View in April 2023 and had a great time, the bungalow is very lovely and is great to use as a base whilst we travelled around Cornwall."

Everything was clean and well maintained and we found it had everything we needed. We liked the little side passage which our dogs could when they had visited the beaches which are a short drive away. We had no problems whilst we were there and would highly recommend Garden View to anyone who needs a nice clean place to stay.

Thank you for your comment I’m pleased you enjoyed your stay. Alison Property Owner

  • "A lovely, well equipped bungalow on a quiet residential estate which is very convenient for Newquay."

The side passageway was very useful for getting our dogs in and out of the property without having to worry about muddy paws and the garden was nice and secure. The conservatory was lovely and peaceful to sit in and very warm when the sun was shining. The owner sent lots of useful information by email before our stay and was most helpful when we contacted her with questions about the heating after arriving. If we return to Newquay we would happily stay at Garden View again.

Thank you for you comments. I’m pleased you enjoyed your stay and hopefully we’ll see you again. Alison Property Owner

  • "We enjoyed our holiday."

The location is good for the area. It was a nice and quiet residential area. The bungalow was pretty good, the furniture is pretty dated, the sofa too. It was pretty clean generally. The conservatory was good and there was a nice garden too. The bathroom was nice, except that it could probably do with a better shower head as the flow was not great. Kitchen was decent with a good oven if you want to cook. I would say the bungalow suffers from condensation easily and also areas of the one bedroom had wet walls which look like they had been previously treated. Overall it was a nice place to stay and I would say is a safe bet for a smaller family.

Thank you for your comments. I’m confused about your comments on the furniture as the sofa and the two arm chairs , one a large ‘ cuddle’ chair are brand new this year and you are only the third group to use the bungalow this season. The rest of the furniture in the sitting room is G plan 70’s retro as seen in the photos. Property Owner

  • "Location was great."

Cleanliness very good. Hospitality and welcome pack really nice. A bit of maintenance required in Bathroom and the seating in the lounge was tired and uncomfortable. It would have been nice to be able to give the heating a boost during the day when the weather was bad, but we really enjoyed our stay. Terry & Jane

Thank you for your feedback. The furniture in the sitting room has been replaced and the bathroom maintenance done. We’ve also installed a Google heating nest which will make it easier to control the heating. Kind regards Alison Property Owner

  • "Hi the bungalow was lovely, clean, tidy and well stocked, lots of thoughtful touches, like the welcome goodies and information pack and the owner contact very good."

Fab location and base for sightseeing, great village location with an excellent pub for meals. The major thing that spoils the bungalow is damp. The two bedrooms and bathroom are very damp, walls are wet in places with some mould patches making the rooms smell very musty unfortunately. We didn't find the lounge furniture very comfortable when sitting for more than half an hour or so. If the damp and musty problem was resolved you couldn't fault the place.

I’m sorry you felt the bungalow was damp, it’s shame you didn’t bring my attention as I was in contact on many occasions during your stay as it would of been resolved if it was a problem. I’m in the process of replacing the sitting room furniture for 2023. Thank you for your comments. Property Owner
