  • "Sorry we forgot to book the weather at the same time as booking The Lamb Shack so we didnt get to make use of the beautiful garden setting, outdoor furniture or views across the valley."

Despite the wet weather though we made the most of our time and enjoyed our stay. The accommodation was cosy, well equipped and perfectly situated for our trip. Thank you for the warmest of welcomes and the fresh-from-the-greenhouse extras, as well as a brilliant list of recommendations. We've already recommended The Lamb Shack to friends

  • "From start to finish Vanessa made us feel extremely welcome."

Nothing was too much trouble. For dog lovers you will fall in love with Phyllis the poodle who just wants you to throw her footballs for her. The peace and tranquility is amazing. To sit out late evening or early morning and only hearing the birds and watching the horses and alpacas free in the large fields is just bliss. We would have no trouble recommending Vanessa's property highly if you want peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle... its about a 2min drive to the village pub for some nice food. Definately worth staying at this lovely getaway. Thank you Vanessa

It was clean, comfortable in beautiful surroundings. The perfect location for touring around Cornwall. Vanessa was very welcoming with fresh produce from the vegetable garden, lots of local information and introducing us to her cute collection of animals. We would definitely recommend the Lamb Shack.

  • "Nice quiet spot apart from the wind turbine."

Vanessa (Owner) very welcoming and very willing to fix a problem with the bathroom door which, in all honesty should have been fixed before we moved in. Clean towels were offered midway through the stay which was nice. TV reception and WiFi not great but acceptable given the location. Access steps are not safe and difficult to negotiate. Village pub, the White Hart, is excellent with great food. If she's not done so, would recommend the owner actually spends a night in the property so she can see all the little things that need attention.

Thank you for your feedback. I’m sorry you didn’t have the opportunity to say it to my face when l asked you if all was ok. If you felt the steps were dangerous, you could have used the gate in the garden. As for the wind turbine, it’s .75 miles away and I’ve never heard it, nor have any other guests. Property Owner

Exactly as expected and more. Vanessa was very welcoming and was the perfect host. The garden furniture was an added bonus and gave me the opportunity to relax in the evenings, just listening to the sound of birds and watching the animals in the field. Phyllis the standard poodle was adorable and I hope I haven't ruined it for future guests by encouraging her to join me and play.

It provided all I needed for an enjoyable stay. The only negative I can think of is, there is no wardrobe space. Venessa, my host was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. Very helpful and a really nice person. She even brought flowers to welcome my partner, who joined me midway through my stay. Top Lady. Would recommend this property if you want a peaceful break away. Vanessa was a great host, and went out of her way to make sure everything was ok, even providing some home grown tomatoes. If you like animals you will enjoy waking up each morning to see horses, goats and llamas grazing the fields next to you. This is an ideal location for exploring this part of Cornwall. The village of St Teath is just a short walk away and the coast just a short drive. We can’t recommend the Lamb Shack too highly.

Storage for clothes is very tight so would recommend only taking what you need. The steps down to the car wouldnt suit anyone with mobility problems. It was a great base for our Cornish adventures. Vanessa was a welcoming and very friendly host and offered us local knowledge prior to and during our stay. The Property was better than expected and situated in a beautiful secluded spot on the owners farm, so peaceful and relaxing, just what we wanted. Location is perfect for exploring both coasts and many beautiful towns, easy access to main roads which is an advantage!. Wadebridge provided us with many supermarket options and there is a local shop in St Teath, of which was only open restricted hours due to the current COVID situation. The local pub, within 15 mins walk, is definitely worth a mention, welcoming and friendly, good beers available and a great little menu, good wholesome pub grub! We would 100% recommend the property to couples looking for something a bit different and quirky, who like exploring and a comfortable base to return to in the evenings. Thank you Vanessa, you have a lovely property.

The Shack is a quirky place. It was warm, it was cozy. It suited us just fine. The village pub is extremely friendly. The food is good and sensibly priced and it's nice to have somewhere right on the doorstep. Could anything be improved? There were no wardrobes or drawers. These would have been handy but it was no more than a minor inconvenience. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  • " · We loved the actual pod itself."

It was a perfect hideaway for a couple and within travel distance of all famous Cornish landmarks. The pod had a very comfy bed, seating area, clean and ample shower room, little kitchenette, although it could have benefited from a hotplate to heat pans. All in all, it was brilliant. · We didn't like the incessant rain and sadly an overhanging tree created much bigger drops to fall on the pods roof, making sleep an elusive dream. Would suggest trimming branches or cutting tree. Obviously the weather is something one cannot account for in uk. A small wardrobe or somewhere to hang clothes would have been beneficial

  • "We had a great week in the Lamb Shack."

This was the first time we had stayed in a pod and were a little apprehensive about only having such a small space to live in for the week. We were however very pleasantly surprised at just how spacious the shack was. I didn’t realise how fun it is to have to crawl up and down the bed to get into/out of it. It was well equipped with everyday essentials (plates, glasses etc). The use of a convection oven instead of just a microwave was also useful. The fridge could have done with having a small freezer compartment. The welcome pack was very gratefully received. The wifi was down for the week we were there, but Venessa (the owner) very kindly said that we could use her conservatory and access her wifi if needed. Actually she was very helpful and accommodating with any requests. The shack is situated at the rear of the owner’s property, behind the stables, so it is quite secluded. It’s next to the fields that have horses, sheep and alpaca’s in. Located ideally for exploring North Cornwall. Local pub (White Hart) very friendly and lovely food.
