  • "A lovely place to stay in a convenient location to visit many of the local beaches and towns."

The accommodation was comfortable with everything we needed for the week. The garden is very well maintained with a great dining area which we used several times. We were greeted by the owners who also left us a welcome hamper of local treats which was really kind. We really enjoyed our visit.

Thank you for your kind feedback Nadine - we are pleased you and your family enjoyed your stay with us Jennie & Paul Property Owner

  • "What a great place to stay."

Jennie and Paul have covered everything that a parent could dream of. Given that we cannot rely on sunshine every day of the summer the play barn and grassed play area for the children (8 + 6) were hits. From the cottage we travelled to Widemouth and Sandymouth Bays (approx 20 mins by car) Crackington Haven and Boscastle. The days spent on the beach were full of fun. We returned most days due to inclement weather around 6 pm afterwhich there was lots of fun spent playing table tennis, flying kites and generally having fun. The cottage itself was very well equipped. We opted for Bluebell which had the third bedroom upstairs and bathroom downstairs as it suited our purposes better. Jennie and Paul coul not have been more helpful with advice as to which beaches to visit along with a DVD player on which to play the ones that we brought with us in case of really bad weather. As a foot note we ALWAYS book on the strength of reviews and found the few that had been written about the cottage really helpful. I recall that one family had said that due to steep stairs they would not advise for toddlers - I have to add that there is a child safety gate at the top of the stairs which we, of course did not use. The Cottages are a great place to stay. We would also advise that as there are three of them that the venue would be great for a family group or group of friends with small children. Thanks so much to Jennie and Paul. We will be back!

Newly refurbished and everything felt fresh and smart. Nice location. Very quiet but handy for Bude Boscastle and Crackington Haven. Clovelly fairly close as well.

The cottage was comfortable and had everything we needed including a cream tea on arrival. The view across to the sea was great, with spectacular sunsets. We would recommend this cottage, the shared facilities and the hosts.

Bude 7 miles; Holsworthy 8 miles; Launceston 10 miles.

Whitstone is a small Cornish village located between Launceston and the seaside town of Bude and is home to a village store. Six miles from Whitstone is the beach at Widemouth Bay along with many inlets and coves. Just seven miles from Whitstone is the coastal town of Bude with wonderful beaches and great surfing all year round. Bude is on the South West Coast Path and has a superb golf course, indoor swimming pool, bowling alley/indoor play area and a good selection of local shops, supermarkets, cafes, pubs and restaurants. For days out, take the coast road north to see the lonely lighthouse above the sea of Hartland Point or walk or ride a dinkey down the steep and cobbled village street (no cars allowed) of beautiful Clovelly, to the harbour and the pub far below. Follow the coast in the other direction and there’s a little cove of Crackington Haven, Boscastle, King Arthur’s castle at Tintagel, Doc Martin’s Port Wenn at Port Isaac and yet more great surfing beaches at Polzeath.
