  • "The villa location was ideal and the site was nice and quiet but maybe helped being September we stayed."

It was tricky to find the actual villa at first but after we did then we had no issues getting in etc it was relatively clean, could do with a bit of a touch up mainly in the bathroom area though and my little boy did find a hairband under one of the sofas. The kitchen was well equipped (could have benefited from a little more washing up liquid) but it served its purpose despite us not being able to work the under counter lights. We didn’t cook though only used it for breakfast time. The fridge also doesn’t get to the cold temp needed so food went off quickly even though we tried turning it cooler it didn’t really help but we managed. We enjoyed relaxing in the living room in the evening and it was the perfect base. The only thing which was a huge disappointment was the double bed. It had been well used and twisted so there was a massive dip where all the springs had gone and being 5 months pregnant the mattress alone along with the massive dip made sleeping uncomfortable so that was a shame. But I informed the hosts and they were understanding and said this would be replaced so I would book here again based on that. Otherwise I don’t think we’d be back. We didn’t have a shower mat or bathroom soap but again the hosts got the cleaner to drop them off. If the few things are rectified the villa makes a great base for visiting Cornwall.

Thank you for all your feedback. We were surprised to find the under counter switch was not working properly (the kitchen is only a year old) so we have ordered a replacement for this. We have had no previous complaints regarding the fridge and friends have stayed after your stay and confirmed that the fridge was fine. We are presently staying in the property and we have checked the performance of the fridge and no food has gone off, our cleaner has told us that the only reason food will go off quickly is if the fridge has been over stocked or the fridge control has been accidentally turned down. The double mattress will be replaced as a matter of priority. As a self catering villa we do not provide any cleaning materials as the property is professionally cleaned after every guests stay, therefore we expect our guests to bring their own consumables for the kitchen (as is noted in Sykes correspondence to you). The only things that we supply are towels. We have made the cleaning manager aware that the bath mat and soap were missing on this occasion so that this doesn’t occur again. We also mentioned the hair band. We are passionate about ensuring that all our guests have an enjoyable experience at the holiday villa and we hope that overall your holiday was relaxing. • "We had an unbelievable stay at Dolphin Villa."

It was very comfortable and spacious for our stay (family of 3 consisting of 2 adults and a 9 year old). Was located on a site which was a short drive to Newquay and surrounding towns. There was constant communication from the owners from start to finish even wishing us safe journeys (nice little touch). The next time we visit Newquay we will definitely check the availability of this villa. Thanks again

Thank you very much Huw for the positive feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed your stay with us and would be happy to welcome you again. Kind regards, Rich & Sue Property Owner

  • "A well stocked accommodation in a good location."

Parking might be an issue in high season but it was fine for us. Beds ok, heating good, shower room/toilet small but serviceable. Nice outlook from the lounge. It is what it says on the tin.

Thank you for your feedback. It’s much appreciated. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Dolphin Villa. Property Owner

  • "Pros - House was nice and clean."

Comfortable sofa. Well stocked kitchen. Lots of great beaches all within 30 mins drive Cons - Advert is misleading, this is a house on a holiday site, you cannot use any of the facilities there apart from the pub, which is difficult when you have children with you and they have to walk past a pool they can’t use. Headboards on single beds felt like they were coming off and banged whenever you moved on the bed. Shelf in bathroom hadn’t been cleaned and found someone else’s toothpick. Have to park on grass verge as carpark for the house was always full and no marked spaces. Could have done with an easy to read information booklet as was hard to find how to put hot water on. Couldn’t make any of the radiators work but wasn’t an issue as was warm but would have been helpful for drying towels etc. Clothes horse would have been helpful. No plugs near dressing table to plug in hair dryer etc. This is a cheap and cheerful place that would suit people who don’t mind being on a holiday site

Thank you for your feedback as we are new owners we are always keen to listen to our customers and react to all feedback - positive and negative. The villa is advertised as being on Atlantic Reach resort and we did send you information prior to your stay regarding alternative swimming pools as we do not affiliate to the sports facilities. We will look into the headboards on the single beds as well as the bathroom which has been regularly cleaned this summer. An unused interdental brush was accidentally left on the shelf. We will update our welcome booklet to include instructions for the immersion heater as well as the towel rack. We did have a clothes horse but this was broken during a recent stay and we have not had the chance to replace this yet. There is plenty of parking near the sports centre with a 100m walk to the villa. Parking on the verge is allowed for unpacking only. We are sorry to hear that not everything was to your satisfaction and we were happy to put the Wifi issue right for you. We hope that you enjoyed your holiday and enjoyed the welcome cream tea in our brand new kitchen. Thank you again for choosing Dolphin Villa for your 2023 holiday and we hope you will book with us again. Property Owner
