The welcome pack with cream tea and shortbread was a lovely touch. It was an easy walking distance into Port Isaac. The facilities were great and we really enjoyed the wood burner. Thank you for making the cottage so welcoming, we would love to stay again!

Thank you for your feedback. You raised the issues with the leak in the roof during the stormy weather to us on the last night of your stay which we appreciated and we have since sorted, we were unaware you were seeking a follow up reply. Well equipped and well positioned for the local activities. Even though it rained on one of the 2 full days we were there, there was enough items in the house to keep us entertained. ONE WORD OF CAUTION, a notice should be displayed saying the Hot water from the taps is very hot from the time the tap is turned on.

  • "Hello! We really enjoyed Dane Cottage and would love to know more about its history."

How old is the cottage? It is charming! Kitchen was lovely and inviting and had everything we could need. The sofas were comfortable and the TV worked like a charm. We never used the fireplaces but used the electric instead. We only used the master bedroom and it was super comfy with adequate storage for items. Excellent hot water and shower. Loved the convenience of a walk to Port Isaac without having to drive in. It was an excellent launch spot out to other areas of Cornwall. The house was beautifully clean. The only negatives were an awful damp, mold smell as we first entered and for at least 24 hours until the heater helped, air freshener, and a scented candle placed in the open fireplace too. We had to leave the windows open for fresh air as the smell was overpowering if not. Thank you for leaving cleaning items. I used the vacuum hose as numerous spiders were in all rooms but mostly downstairs.

Hello! Thank you so much for your feedback. We are delighted to hear that you love Dane Cottage. In terms of it's history, we cannot give you a definitive build date however, as with other cottages in the village they are linked with a fishing heritage dating back to the 18th or 19th centuries; and they each possess their own charm and we agree, this one is a gem. The dampness has been noted and we will look into how to address this. We would love to welcome you back in the future - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "Second visit to Dane Cottage."

Very comfortable. Bathroom great; good shower. Kitchen a good size; knives could be sharper and a simple steamer for vegetables would be good. love the location as it is ideally suited for inland walks around Port Isaac as long as you don’t mind a bit of mud and some steep sections. On arrival I parked the car and didn’t get in it again until I left. Five minute walk to Coop. Lovely walk down the valley to Port Isaac to the fishmonger. Or lovely walk down to Port Gaverne to the hotel for lunch.

We throughly enjoyed our week in Dane cottage. It was a real home from home. Extremely warm and cozy to come back to after spending all day out exploring Cornwall. Plenty of hot water. Good shower. Fully equipped kitchen which includes washing machine and dishwasher, and every other convenience that you would require. A lovely small, dog safe courtyard at the front and parking directly outside the front door. We would have no hesitation in returning to Dane cottage in the future should we be returning to the area.

  • "Perfect holiday cottage."

Comfortable layout and easy walking distance to Port Isaac and the Cornish coast. Shower good and sofas comfortable after a long day out. The only drawback was bin confusion as mentioned on other reviews. No indication what the recycling system was. 2 wheelie bins outside were identical. Also only half a loo roll left for both toilets and no cooking oil/cling film sort of stuff, just salt and pepper.

Thank you so much for your feedback. Regarding the bin confusion, we are in the process of placing the physical information packs back into our properties for the 2022 season following the relaxation of COVID-19 guidelines to make, providing clear instructions for them. • "Good bits; we found the cottage very comfy, clean and we equipped."

it was very quite, in a nice area and good to walk from with our dog. port issac was in easy walking distance so no need to use the car. bad bit; the lack of any sort of welcome pack was very disappointing having drove 350 miles and the first think we had to do was go shopping to make a drink, this is 2022, not the dark ages. and not finding any sort of a cream tea in cornwall was a bit bad. only 3/4 of a tiolet roll left between 2 tiolets was a bit mean as well. come on owners i know this is a business but a bit of personal touch goes along away. having said all that i would visit again

Thank you for your feedback on Dane Cottage, following this the owner is exploring the possibility of including a welcome hamper with rentals. Along with this we will investigate the toilet roll issue with the housekeeping team as there should be at least 1 roll for each toilet on your arrival. We are so glad that you still enjoyed your stay and are open to stay again, We hope we can invite you back in the future! - John Bray Cornish Holidays. Property Owner

Prob just need 2 bins in kitchen to correspond with outside bins & need to make it clearer that holiday makers do not need to arrange for the rubbish collection. . We enjoyed our stay in this cute cottage, thankyou.

  • "I was disappointed to find sweet wrappers (celebrations) on dinning room chairs and in small bedroom on arrival."

The children’s bedroom door when closed from outsiders cannot be opened from inside which isn’t safe. Also the small bedroom window doesn’t lock, can only be pulled to. Bathroom window also does not close which makes the property not safe ( reported on arrival), not fixed, nobody contacted me on our stay.Made me worry about our property whilst we were out.

We were concerned to receive this feedback and we thank you for drawing this to our attention. The door and the windows were repaired shortly afterwards and these problems will not occur in the future. Property Owner
