  • "A really lovely, comfortable cottage, probably one of the nicest we have stayed in."

The cottage is so well equipped and was spotless (thank you to the couple who clean it who we happened to meet). Boscastle is a lovely place to stay, one of our favourite places and we would love to stay in Fairfield Cottage again one day. Thank you so much for a truly great stay.

  • "We had a fantastic week at Fairfield, we are very familiar with Boscastle having stayed previously however this was our first stay in this cottage and we have already booked for next year."

We found the cottage to be very comfortable and the garden secure. The bonus of having the side gate directly into the lane for dog walks was brilliant and meant the cottage stayed clear of muddy boots & paws.

  • "Fabulous cottage in a beautiful part of Cornwall."

Fully equipped with everything needed to make it home from home - the owners have thought of everything. Lots of people have commented on the parking, however we managed to get our estate car in the parking space to the side of the property - yes it’s tight and takes a bit of manoeuvring but it does mean there is always a space available, unlike many other properties in the village. Would definitely recommend!

  • "Fairfield was exactly as mentioned!"

Beautiful cottage in Boscastle that was well equipped with everything you shall need. The property manager was right next door and very approachable. Able to park our car in the space behind the cottage, yes it was tight but doable with guidance. We would recommend to anyone staying in Boscastle!

  • "Lovely cottage in Boscastle, ideally situated for local pubs, lovely walks, beaches and a convenience store."

The cottage is very clean and is well furnished and equipped and has a nice private garden. There is a parking space down the side of the property but it is a little tight for anything but a small car. We parked on the road at the front mostly but sometimes had to park on another road further down. The second bedroom is a bit of a squeeze for a double bed and would be better suited as either a single room or one with bunk beds. The current twin room has enough space for either a double or king size bed. The garden is becoming over grown and would benefit with some general maintenance. Also the floor in the living area is coming up and moves when walking on it. The internet was poor and regularly cut out but this was not a big issue to us. Despite the negatives we would still recommend.

  • "Wow, what a perfect cottage in a great local to explore Boscastle and surrounding areas."

You have thought of not only the basics but you have gone above and beyond with the smaller details making it home from home. Yes, parking is very tight, however in our Kona we managed to navigate the lane to the parking space by the side of the cottage. We found plenty of places to eat in and around Boscastle, however the hill back up to the cottage isn’t for the faint hearted. We also tried the local bus service into Tintagel. All in all a wonderful experience.

  • "Lovely property with lots of home comforts on offer."

Secluded garden which catches the sun all day. Location of property is at the top of a steep hill so a bit challenging walking up and down every day. Parking is a big problem, we have a medium sized car and attempted to park in the space. Even tried to reverse the car in but couldnt get down the lane. After a 5 hour drive not what you wanted. Managed to park on the road for the first and last night and found a space at the top of the village for the other nights. If should be made clearer about the space and that its on road parking. Boscastle is a lovely village with fantastic walks from the doorstep. Visited lots of different places. Napolean pub great for food and The Riverside Hotel for a drink over looking the river.

  • "The cottage was lovely to stay in we really enjoyed it,the only negative was the parking,we ended up parking down in the village £15-80 for the week not bad plus it gave us an excuse to go the pub."

Overall we would book it again.

  • "We had the best week in Cornwall, making fantastic memories."

Boscastle was extremely pretty and the cottage was absolutely beautiful!! We took our dog on her first holiday and the garden was amazing and very safe. The cottage itself was beautifully decorated and very well presented. It really was home from home. Just up the road is a pub called the Napoleon and we had a really lovely meal in there so would highly recommend. There are 2 convenience stores, 1 up the top of the hill and one in the village down the hill, both were well stocked. I felt the cottage was in a great location, yes it’s a drive out to visit different places but they were never too far and the drive looking at the countryside was a pleasure in itself. We visited Bude, Port Issac, Padstow, Daymer Bay, Rock and many more!!! Everywhere we went was really dog friendly especially Daymer Bay, the dogs are allowed off leads and could enjoy their freedom. If there was a negative it might be the parking? It is off street but extremely tight, however with a little bit of skill & patience my husband perfected the parking by the 2nd day!! We however have a Golf and anything bigger would definitely struggle. There is parking to the front (which is where my daughter parked) but at times this was extremely busy? All in all it really was a perfect holiday. Thanks again for allowing us to use your beautiful home.

  • "Lovely cottage, great position, nicely decorated, everything we needed."

The garden was also nice with 3 areas enabling the sun at all times of the day. We found access to the parking area difficult with the size of our car but managed to park on the roadside outside. Although a steep hill great to be able to walk to the harbour, pubs and shops without using the car. Our only concern was the broken boiler and water for showering although managing with the immersion heater and staggering showers between us. The owner was very concerned and kind regarding this problem however. A great holiday overall and we will return. Thanks.

  • "We loved this property."

The only disappointment was that our car was too big to be able to use the parking space so parking was an issue everyday. I think you should warn people upfront that it is only suitable for small cars.

  • "Lovely cottage, well equipped and comfortable."

Good position for lots of sightseeing in the area. Lovely walks through fields and woods down to the village on the doorstep. Although you need a strong heart to walk up the steep hill along the road to the cottage. Take it easy, it’s fine. Perfect for dogs, with a large garden. A few steep steps from the back door to the garden but we managed it fine, so did the dogs. We had quite a large jeep vehicle which we managed to squeeze down the side of the cottage to the parking space. There’s no space if you had two cars though. Limited parking on the road outside cottage. Would recommend the cottage and we will stay again.

Boscastle itself and the surrounding area is an ideal base to explore North Cornwall and Fairfield and its garden provided us with a much needed relaxing holiday. The weather certainly helped and swimming in Boscastle harbour was an experience. The walks from the cottage are excellent in all directions and we discovered walks where we didn't have to climb back up the hill - result!

The location; ability to park virtually outside; pub and local shop just up the road; challenging, but great walks. The quality of the equipment, fixtures and fittings in the cottage were first class, everything was to a high standard, including all the kitchenware/glass/crockery/cutlery. Plenty of everything. A real home from home.

The thought that has gone into making it a real home from home is obvious & we could not have wished for anywhere better. We used the cottage as a base for exploring Cornwall & a bit of Devon - coming back to the comfort & convenience of this lovely cottage every evening just added to the whole enjoyment. The garden provided a great haven for the children to let off more steam whilst parents & grandparents re-couped with a glass or two. The easy access to Boscastle & it’s delights meant that if we didn’t want to cook there were great alternatives - Napoleon Inn 2 min walk & Shirley's Plaice which serves great fish & chips on the harbour. Wonderful holiday & can’t recommend this cottage highly enough.

Nearly everything about the home was awesome very warm, very spacious, very clean and very comfortable. Only very MINOR drawbacks were if you were planning on cooking each night the pots , pans etc were a little limited tired and scratched we have found this with most rentals though. The plug in the bath did not seal 100% and I personally found the placement of the plug awkward and made bathing uncomfortable. The parking to the side is great if you have a small car , our Kuga was a tight fit (although not as tight fit as gunpool lane lol) but we had no issues parking out front of the property in early December. I would highly recommend this home to anyone and my husband said it would be a beautiful place to spend Christmas.

The cottage was everything you would hope to find in this delightful village - spotlessly clean, exactly as described and full of surprises. The additional items such as outdoor blankets, surf boards & fire pit added to the full enjoyment of our stay. Our stay was the last week before indoor eating was allowed so we cooked every night - the kitchen is so well equipped with extras like foil & cling film, must haves like garlic press & lots of pots & pans of various sizes. High chair, cot bed & stair gate all provided which resulted in a relaxed, sleep enabled stay with our young children. This is a magical place & like a home from home - we loved it & will be back next year.
