  • "Beautiful location."

easy walk to village and coast . cottage is so clean and beautifully decorated. pool table fantastic as is the log burner . only small negatives are no laundry facilities and initial supply of logs for fire not more. hot tub not available and prob wouldnt have used it due to faff of burning a lot of logs and stirring the water with paddle etc .for max use of 15 mins each time..overall , really really beautiful place .ideally situated to facilities. would use cottage again. had a lovely holiday. especially the pool table and games selections.!

Many Thanks for you glowing review and glad you enjoyed your stay despite being a little unlucky with the weather! I do remember having a conversation with you about the hot tub and it isn’t easy getting it going in the rain, but it was available to you should you have wanted it - I wouldn’t want anyone thinking it was only available at certain times of the year! Also if anyone should need a hand with it we are always ready to help as we have done on a few occasions this season. Also since your stay we have installed a washing machine. We hope to see you again! Property Owner

  • "Would recommend and return to this property!"

Really modern and cozy with lots of attention to detail - they have really thought about storage and lighting in this well designed chalet. Really spacious with a games room which we loved. The hosts were so friendly and helpful too, always on hand if you needed them and very quick to help with any issues. Great location too, just a 20 min walk to the beautiful Tintagel Castle, plus some nice pubs, shops and tea rooms too.

  • "Very comfortable and spotlessly clean."

The games, especially pool and table-tennis, were much appreciated. Very well-equipped kitchen. Helpful and pleasant owners. Good for visiting lots of places, including Tintagel and St Nectan's Glen (both easy walking distance), Port Isaac, the Cornwall at War museum and Trerice. Can also recommend the Screech Owl Sanctuary. My caveats would be that we gave up on the hot tub; just couldn't get the fire to take. This was disappointing, because the tub was one of the main reasons we booked Badger's Sett. Also, the shower has very low pressure. I had to wash my hair in the kitchen sink, which was a right old palaver and isn't ideal. It's something to be aware of if, like me, you have long or thick hair! Lastly, and I think this was just unlucky, temperatures dropped while we were staying and I did feel cold some of the time, especially in the mornings. We were wary of trying to adjust the room thermostats because although the owners said it was OK, the notes ask guests not to..

Many thanks for your generally positive review, but we are so disappointed that we weren’t made aware of the issues you appear to have had, as we always strive to make our guests’ stay as enjoyable as possible. The water pressure does fluctuate a little in Cornwall so we installed a top of the range power shower in the bathroom so that variation in pressure is minimised by changing the setting on the power shower which has its own pump and also mixes air with the water to boost the flow. we’ve checked the shower since and the pressure is good, so possibly you had it on the wrong setting? I would gladly have helped set up the hot tub for you if you were experiencing problems, again you never mentioned anything during your stay. Lastly, each room has its own thermostat panel which is easily adjust with an up or down arrow that operates brand new ceramic heater panels, we certainly wouldn’t want any guest to be cold…there is always the wood burner if you need immediate warmth. • "This property so fully equipped, its a delight, there is even a fairy cake tray for baking!"

All the rooms are generous in size. I did miss that there isn't a washing machine which could be an issue if you have young ones, although there is a launderette in Tintagel! We loved the games that were provided and left one of our own to add to the collection. The wood burning hot tub was a bit of work and we only used it once almost unsuccessful. The wood burning stove was lovely when we got that going most nights. The place was very central for site seeing the area.

Thank you for your mostly positive feedback. I just wish you had contacted us about the wood fired hot tub as they can be tricky but we would have helped you to get it up to temperature. We have also installed a washing machine since your visit. Many thanks Property Owner

Plenty of games and billiard table a bonus during inclement weather. Large variety of kitchen utensils, all new or nearly new. Easy walk into Tintagel, and near to coastal walks (take walking boots!). Stayed for two weeks that passed very quickly. Owners (Simon and Sarah) live nearby and proved very helpful and knowledgeable.

  • "Badgers sett is beautiful, clean and spacious with a calm luxury feel."

We were made extremely welcome by the owners and our daughter was smitten with their beautiful dogs. The chalet/bungalow is very well equipped with a brilliant kitchen, dishwasher and even an air fryer. The log fired tub was a lovely experience and if you have children the ping pong and pool table which doubles up as the dining table is fab. Lots of games also supplied in case you get a bad Weather day. The lounge is extremely cosy with log burner if you get cold. Logs can be sourced easily within walking distance of the property as the town is a short walk away with lots of great little shops to buy gemstones and pasties. It’s a great location to explore that part of Devon.

Many Thanks for being lovely guests, and so glad to hear you enjoyed your time at Badger’s Sett. Margot has been asking us where your daughter has gone… Just one tiny thing - Tintagel is in Cornwall not Devon! (Jam first!) Property Owner

It is wonderfully presented, incredibly comfortable, very spacious and has everything you could need. The games room was a huge hit and offers a great option when the inevitable rainy day comes along! We didn’t get to try out the hot tub because of the weather but it’s another fantastic facility to use. The cottage is situated in a very quiet part of Tintagel but only a very short walk from the village, coastal paths and beaches. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the area from the cottage and hope to return again in the future! The owners are on hand if you need them, very friendly and helpful and have renovated the cottage brilliantly - a great place to stay!
