  • "A Cornish holiday cottage that exceeds expectations at every level!"

Incredibly comfortable beds and bedding and well thought through en-suite bathrooms in each, through to the upstairs living area that ticks every box with many impressive finishing touches. Through to a door to the upstairs large balcony and relaxing furniture. Finally views across the Cornish countryside from your balcony and upstairs windows that can include a stunning sunset. The outdoor garden area is also extensive, well kept and great to relax in. Situated in a location that removes you completely from what can be a busy part of Cornwall and allows time to relax, with a wonderful owner next door that is there if you need anything but equally leaves you to completely enjoy your break undisturbed. For those with an EV, it’s located ten minutes from Kingsley Village and a plethora of high speed chargers alongside an M&S, Boots etc The location in North Cornwall is perfect and in established reach of within 15-20 minutes of the north coast beaches,Newquay,Padstow and Wadebridge. Having stayed in Cornish cottages for the last ten years this is by far the family’s favourite, so much so we’ve booked to return this summer.

  • "The Coach House is in the perfect location for seeing Cornwall."

The property was fantastic. Comfortable and warm. Comfy beds and a good hot shower. We loved taking advantage of the huge verandah for an evening glass of wine and watch the sun set. We couldn’t get the BBQ to work as we couldn’t find how to switch the gas on and there wasn’t an instruction for that. The town is pretty jaded but about 6 miles away is a fab M&S so we got our shopping from there after a long day out. We ate in every night as we didn’t think the town had much to offer. But we were happy to do so. My husband and friend would recommend the Red Lion for a drink. We had booked to take our dog but didn’t last minute and I’m glad I didn’t as I’m not sure it was Flo friendly. Would happily stay there again.

It is ideally located to the village which has great facilities. The decking gives stunning views and is perfect place to relax at the end of the day. The beds were extremely comfortable and the showers were fantastic. The only suggestion I would make is for fans in the bedrooms as we were lucky enough to have hot weather and they were very hot at night but this is a tiny point which didn’t effect us enjoying our stay. I would definitely stay again without question.

  • "Beautiful property."

Well located. Approx 10 mins or so from beaches and Newquay. Very good amenities. Only one point is back garden needs a fence down the side as the side bed drops down to a path which leads to stables thereby not totally secure for dogs. With that said, would definitely recommend and would stay again.

  • "The coach house is in a great location."

Was only a short drive to beaches and exploring around. Some good secure dog walking fields near by too. The owners are next door and although very lovely, it wasn't quite as private as we would have liked. The main reason we booked was it says secure garden and the pictures show really secure fencing. But the garden isn't as secure as we hoped as one side is just a border and a drop down the other side, which our 1yr old spaniel immediately found and then we had to keep him on a lead in the garden. So it wasn’t as relaxing as we had expected. So for us it wasn’t ideal, but we still had a lovely time. Great showers and comfy beds and nice bottle of wine to welcome us.

  • "Tall people may get fed up with banging their head on the joists upstairs and at the bottom of the stairs."

The house was clean apart from several cobwebs. St Columb is a slightly run down place but the house is in a quiet area with some attractive views over the countryside. The underfloor heating is unresponsive compared to traditional systems. Also the fridge was far too small and there is room for a bigger fridge in such a large kitchen. As there is an excess of kitchen work top space the microwave could be in a better location rather than at waist level! The ground floor is rather gloomy due to dark decor and small windows.

  • "Fantastic week in a lovely cottage with brilliant views."

We have just returned from a week at the Coach House. For us it perfectly met what we wanted from start to finish. It’s in a great location with access to some great north coast beaches less than 25 minutes away but still close enough to the South coast for easy access. The views were great and the layout means you get to enjoy these during the day. We found the cottage to be perfectly kitted out with everything we needed and clean. The upstairs balcony is a great idea but we only got to enjoy it on a couple of evenings as the weather tended to turn wet later in the afternoons during our stay. With good weather this is the perfect place to spend an evening. The owner was friendly and on hand if we needed anything without being intrusive. Finally a special mention for the butchers bakehouse in Columb St Major. What a fantastic place this is. The cakes and croissants are amazing and although we didn’t buy any bread from here it also looked fantastic. All in all after 18 months of Covid restrictions this was the ideal cottage, location and place in the world to have a safe and enjoyable holiday :)

  • "We booked this cottage as a last minute change to our original holiday due to the ongoing Covid restrictions and we weren't disappointed."

The cottage is amazing! We met the owners who live next door who were extremely welcoming and left us a lovely bottle of wine on our arrival. The property offers everything you need and more. The decor is a very high standard and presented beautifully with lovely touches making it feel very warm and welcoming. The views from the outside upper terrace are superb and go on for miles. The photos of the cottage on the website really don't do the property justice and we were surprised by how spacious it was. The kitchen area is fantastic and extremely well equipped. The lounge area is very comfortable and roomy, with the added bonus of a large dining table next to the double doors leading to the upper terrace. There is ample, comfortable furniture on the terrace with a gas BBQ. Both large bedrooms have the own superb walk-in shower rooms with rain showers with the master having a slightly larger one. The cottage has it's own driveway and rear garden, perfect for children or dogs as it's quite well enclosed and planted out beautifully. Conveniently located for access to many outstanding beaches, shops, restaurants and other adventures on offer in Cornwall. The village the cottage is located in, St Columb Major, is within 5 minutes walking distance and offers a Co-op, butchers, pubs and handy other services. We will definitely be back as we can't commend the owners enough for providing such a truly lovely holiday home.

  • "Lovely house, in a great state of cleanliness with a well equipped kitchen."

Very warm and welcoming. We arrived late on a dark and stormy Friday night and rather wished that the directions had been more precise ... we were looking for a property called "The Coach House" but really needed to look for "Bospolvans House". If the directions had mentioned "next turning after Fire Station" or even "opposite main entrance to St Columb school" it would have been easier to find. Also there is no house name on the outside of the property and in the dark it was impossible to match to the photo on the booking sheet so we had to simply try the key box number to see if it worked. Luckily we had the right house and once we were inside all was great !

Because of COVID we were unable to go out as much as usual so spent more time in the property, in the garden with our dog, and the property was comfortable and had everything we required. We had a couple of minor issues with the property ( very wobbly dining table & one of the heated towel rails did not work). I reported this to the owner who arranged for these to be fixed quickly. The owner was very friendly and helpful which we really appreciated. We would like to stay in this property again.
