  • "Very pleasant and comfortable stay, marred only by temperamental WiFi from day two (had been working prior to this) which for example prevented access to online TV, as well as online planning and making any reservations very difficult."

Would also be useful to have an outside tap for rinsing sandy items - which would also help in keeping the property clean! Overall though - great holiday.. thank you.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are so pleased that you had a comfortable stay at Greystones studio, however we are sorry to hear that you experienced some issues with the WIFI. Your comments have been raised to our maintenance team and all feedback is shared with the owner. We hope to welcome you back again in the future - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. • "Our third stay at this lovely property."

Much has changed and improved, notably an enhanced kitchen area and the provision of broadband. We find the wall-mounted TV a little awkward to watch, but that’s just a personal preference.

  • "We loved the studio - just lovely and in a wonderful place."

Trying to be constructive without criticism; the settee is low for taller people but this is being ‘ picky’. We would love to come again in the wintertime. Whilst the weather was stormy the temperature was mild - 12c with daffodils, periwinkle’s with many other varieties in flower. The surrounding scenery is really spectacular with the Atlantic rollers meeting the beautiful clean beaches of the bay offering something for everyone to enjoy. We just loved it!!

  • "The studio was wonderful."

Everything we hoped for and needed and John Bray staff are great in Cornwall. Just don’t like dealing with Sykes as they are too big and don’t have the personal touch and knowledge that the lovely old local office has.

  • "My husband is over 6ft tall so the lowness of the settee was a struggle, but more importantly the springs were broken."

It was a most wonderful week weather wise so viewing the television was difficult with the sun coming in through the roof lighting. We so so enjoyed the location and everything it provided. Thank you so much.

It is in an ideal location for coastal walking and the beach, at the same time being very private. The property is well maintained which includes the cleanliness. We would not hesitate to book again. Nicky and Maurice

Everything we needed was to hand and the studio was warm and cosy. A real gem of a find for our first visit to Cornwall and we will be back.

  • "We spent a memorable week at the Studio which is beautifully located for easy access to our favourite areas of Cornwall."

The accommodation is perfect for a couple wanting to escape and relax away from the world. A few small additions would have made it perfect. A smaller frying pan. kitchen scissors and the fridge functioning as a fridge not a freezer! But these were minor issues . We will certainly return as we try to every year. Thank you

Thank you for this feedback on your stay at Greystones Studio. We are delighted to hear you had a memorable week. We will be sure to look into the issues you have mentioned in order to improve future stays. We look forward to your return! Property Owner

  • "Greystones Studio is the perfect bolt-hole."

A moments walk from the beach and yet tucked away and quiet. It's beautifully presented and has excellent facilities, not to mention being a wonderful 20 minute walk around the headland to some chilled bars serving excellent food and craft cider on the Polzeath beach. We can't recommend this little gem enough (and no, we are not related to the owners :) ).

  • "No instructions about the bins."

No breadbin. Needs more and better quality saucepans. Needs a new hob. Had to wash all the glasses, crockery and cutlery , as dusty. A lovely studio though, in a great location and we had a very nice stay.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review for your stay at Greystones Studio. The property is undergoing renovations over the winter period which will rectify all the issues raised. Property Owner

  • "We had an enjoyable stay, however, we would like to raise a few concerns about the studio."

The Studio is rated as "5 ticks", which is luxury but that is not what we found the Studio to be with it's current fixtures and furnishings. The sofa covers and cushions are worn and stained, the rug is worn and stained, the footstool cover is worn and stained, some sofa cushions are coming apart at the seams, the dining chair cushions are stained. The hob is marked and the frying pans are in poor condition. The towels provided are faded and thinning, the bedding is not luxury. The information folder is tatty and the leaflets are old. We are concerned that the mattress protector and pillow protectors are not changed, as there is a sign to leave them in the property and not put in the laundry. The plates, cups, bowls and glasses are all of a cheap quality and the furniture is all shabby and mismatched. This did not, however, detract from our stay. We like the Studio, as a building, we liked the location and we hope to return but we felt that these issues need addressing. We have provided Sykes with photo evidence

Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed review of Greystones Studio. We are sorry you felt the furnishings in the studio were below standard but are pleased to hear that you still enjoyed your stay and would return. Greystones is having some renovations over the winter period so we intend to begin the 2022 season afresh. Property Owner

  • "We have stayed for one week or two at The Studio in June or July for the past four years and we absolutely love it, it is a fabulous place to stay and utterly charming."

We have never felt so relaxed anywhere else and the location, privacy, ambiance and facilities are wonderful. The standard is classic Cornish holiday house and we wouldn’t have it any other way! Of course it’s not five star luxury, if that’s what you want, then stay at a hotel like the St Moritz and pay through the nose! We would be heartbroken if we couldn’t stay again in 2022.

Thank you for your amazing feedback. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay so much and cant wait to welcome you back to the property in the future. John Bray on behalf of the owners. Property Owner

About the location

DAYMER BAY

Polzeath 1.3 miles; Rock 2.3 miles.

Daymer Bay and the village of Trebetherick were both loved by Sir John Betjeman and are unquestionably special. With a huge appeal to both the young and not so young, Daymer Bay has recently been voted one of the best beaches in the world! St. Enodoc Church, once buried in the sand, is within comfortable walking distance of Daymer Bay and is the resting place of Sir John Betjeman. Daymer Bay holds great appeal for wind surfers, kite surfers and paddle boarders, with the gentle waves rolling up the estuary. There is enormous fun too for small children with buckets and spades and fishing in the rock pools. At low tide you can walk across the sand to the village of Rock to indulge in a spot of retail therapy or a bite to eat at one of the many delicious eateries, or catch the short ferry ride and explore the delights of Padstow. Up from the coast path as it runs from Daymer Bay is Highcliffe, nestling between Polzeath and Trebetherick, both of which boast a number of pubs, restaurants and village stores all offering a wide variety of fresh quality produce. The properties at Highcliffe have the advantage of being within easy reach of Daymer, Polzeath and Greenaway - Greenaway being the name given to the clifftop area, beach and small cove with rock pools overlooking the Atlantic beyond that lies between Daymer and Polzeath.

Logs are supplied for the wood burner and there is some additional electric heating but please note this property does not have central heating.
