  • "We arrived to a lovely selection of goodies and information provided by Norman, our host."

He couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful. He clearly takes a lot of pride in his cottages and it shows in the fact that they literally have everything you could need. The use of space is fantastic, the views are beautiful and it’s so peaceful. Really easy to visit all of Cornwall from this central location, nowhere was much more than an hour. If you want somewhere well kept, comfortable and relaxing, you couldn’t find a better place than this. Highly recommend it and we would definitely go back.

Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay in Cornwall and the welcome pack on arrival. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Best wishes Calleynough Barns Property Owner

  • "Absolutely lovely place, the pictures of the views don’t do it justice!"

It’s so quiet and peaceful, despite being so close to the main road you cannot hear any traffic from outside the location. Decor and fit out was really nice, bright and clean, lovely gent who owns the premises, was there to greet us and welcome us, along with a cream tea and Prosecco, can’t fault that! The only slight thing was the bed settee, which would have been better as a sofa that was also higher up and easier to use, understand it’s so more people can sleep there but it’s so low down that anyone with mobility issues would struggle to get up from it, that literally is the only flaw though, lovely place and really enjoyed our stay there, would recommend for anyone looking to get away to beautiful Cornwall and stay somewhere nice and clean with some much needed peace and quiet! Glad we chose this place to stay.

Thank you for your positive feedback. We are so pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay and the welcome pack on arrival. We have taken on board your feedback. We look forward to welcoming you again, in the future. Best wishes Calleynough Barns Property Owner

As others have said, Norman goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need for a perfect holiday. Would highly recommend this accomodation. Hopefully we will be back next year.

  • "The property itself is lovely inside, although cleaning needs a little more attention."

The sofa was very uncomfortable to sit on and advised not to use the upstairs en-suite shower as it cut out the electrics in the whole property. Metal toiletry holder in shower and dish drainer on sink very rusty and bin in downstairs en-suite still had previous occupants rubbish in. The area adjoining the property is basically a building site, with rubble and materials everywhere. The lawn area mentioned in listing was just a neglected rough patch of land next to this and wouldn’t have been pleasant to use, with the seating actually being used as a makeshift barrier anyway. The view from our windows were more building materials and we had little sleep due to the noise of things getting blown about all night. We even had builders knocking at the door early one morning looking for the owner! We couldn’t leave windows open due to the amount of building dust and the outside area was very neglected in general, even the pot plants were dead. Whilst we appreciate that the owner is renovating adjoining barns to make several more letting properties, this should be mentioned before hand so that potential renters can make an informed choice on staying at this property. The site really should be fenced off adequately for safety, especially as children are allowed at the property! Arrival treats were a welcome surprise but over familiarity from the owner was not and he should respect that not everyone wants a knock on the door and chat (often too personal) whenever he sees them at the property, a meet & greet is more than sufficient for most people! Overall we didn’t get our peaceful few days away in idyllic countryside overlooking lush fields & enjoying alfresco dining on the lawn & seating area as advertised, more of a constantly interrupted few days next to a building site! We felt we had to leave the property all day to find peace elsewhere, for which we could have stayed in a b&b for less cost and intrusion

Thank you for your feedback. All comments have been noted and actions will be taken where required. We wish the feedback mentioned above were made aware to us during your visit. Kind regards Calleynough Barns Property Owner

This is a recently opened barn conversion and the facilities were excellent. Spotlessly clean and modern with great WiFi. A quiet, peaceful location but only a minutes drive from the A30 giving access to explore other parts of Cornwall easily. Greated on arrival with a much appreciated welcome pack of milk, cream scones and wine..Nice touch. Thank you to Norman the owner for all your help and advice on places to go and things to do. Great to meet you. The problem with good reviews means places become so popular that you can never book them again!! I can see this happening with Collynough over the next few years. No hesitation in recommending The Cornstore as the perfect base for a holiday. We will certainly try to book it again in the future.
