  • "Superb accommodation but a couple of niggles."

The accommodation absolutely requires some sort of sofa and a small table for the bedroom and they need to ditch the 2 single chairs. The TV in the kitchen is displaced to where the table and chairs are and you get an awful stiff neck if you’re sitting watching the TV In the kitchen (maybe if it was smaller?) it’s not comfortable at all, so spent time watching TV in the bedroom, on the bed! 100 of needs a sofa. I also never got NETFLIX on the kitchen TV. Those were the only little niggles. The rest of the apartment was superb though with a state of the art washing machine etc. Fabulous shower and full size Fridge Freezer. Make sure to take screenshots of all the entry details for easy reach into the property. If I come back I’d not book this accommodation but another one and the same building with a sofa and wee table of some sort. Makes a hell of a difference if there was one. All in all very good. Oh and maybe an earlier check in would help as arrived into Newquay Airport at 11.00am so a lot of waiting around and SYKES wouldn’t budge even on a request for a possible early check in, unlike a lot of suppliers when you can request (but not guarantee) but they wouldn’t even attempt this. Maybe even offer it as an extra charge for early arrivals. Their reply to my request was quite curt.

  • "It was overall a good experience staying here."

A couple of negatives were that the bin smelt and the sheets on the bed were (although clean) a bit musty smelling, as they'd been stored in a cupboard for a while. I would have washed and dried them there but there were no instructions for the washer/dryer. The heating, even with instructions is difficult to understand and whilst trying to turn it up one day ended up turning it off completely and couldn't figure out to put it on again! I agree with previous reviews that a sofa should be put in, there is room. I also think it needs a mirror by a plug socket.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback, we have taken these points on board, I am sorry to hear about the heating, we didn't know you had an issue, other wise we would have popped over to help with this. Property Owner

  • "So during my stay a numerous amount of issues happened some adhered too some just completely ignored."

Firstly there was no WiFi the whole time during my stay, I contacted them 3 times and to no reply other than an email asking me what do I mean when I say the WiFi isn't working in my hotel room. The car park gate was locked and didn't open on numerous times. Thus causing me and my partner to be stuck inside with no car and missing out on plans. The heating was stuck on and when asked for instructions they just said to look at the manual, the manual was no where to be seen. The cutlery was all dirty and the utensils were dirty The kettle has yellow limescale all over the bottom layer which is quite disgusting When pulling out the toaster there was numerous burnt crumbs stuck all over the top of the toaster And the shower was full of hair when first walking in.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback, I am sorry for the delay in getting to you, rest assured I have fed back all points to our team. Property Owner

  • "Bright & airy flat in very central quiet location."

But, mug split from its base when making tea resulting in cascade of boiling water &scalding; of body! Not a good start...Snags included: bathroom door needs planing so it can open & close without forcing; erratic numbers of crockery so mug not the first casualty; full length mirror somewhere would be helpful. Heating control very complicated to adjust and no clarification re washing/ drying machine options ( so clothes ended up washed twice to get dry...). Also instructions (Covid- related?) sent in advance listed things to be brought which were in fact provided so luggage space wasted. Bin instructions also unclear. Possibly some issues of communication between standard Sykes Cottages generic info and info specific to the property?

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback following your stay at Battell Chambers. Cornish Cottage Holidays made us aware of the mug incident stating a small scold but that all parties were ok, to which we did reply saying we were glad to hear you were OK, therefore I am sorry to see this feedback. We will investigate and rectify any applicable points you've also mentioned, thank you for making us aware of these. Property Owner

  • "The apartment was amazing, even better than the pictures & I'd definitely recommend it to family & friends."

The only thing I would say, is that a small 2 seater sofa would be great in the bedroom rather than the 2 chairs that are there, but that wouldn't change my recommendation. Perfect location for exploring Cornwall. 10/10.

Perfect location for us. Couple things could be good, a full length mirror would be great! Also a coffee table would be good with the two chairs in the window. Thank you for a fab stay.

  • "We had a comfortable and enjoyable stay at your property."

The apartment was clean with good amenities. The problem we had with the door handle was resolved satisfactorily. We found staff to be professional and personable. The secure parking was a bonus. Thank you for the goodies. One improvement could be to buy a small sofa and coffee table for the bedroom; one of the arm chairs would easily fit into, and enhance, the kitchen. We thought the location of the property, in the town centre, to be perfect. Thank you for your hospitality.

Hi Jane, Thank you so much for your complimentary review. We are always looking at ways to improve our properties. We will defiantly take a look at the seating arrangements. We hope to welcome you back again soon. Best Wishes, The Specialist Res Units Team :) Property Owner

  • "Really enjoyable stay for 1 week at Battell Chambers."

The accommodation has been finished to a very high standard and Camborne is an ideal base to explore south west cornwall. We knew that there was no sitting area when booking the property, so that didn't come as a surprise, but it may put some people off. The only improvements that we could suggest are: 1. Some form of blinds for the bedroom window, to increase privacy but still let light in. 2. The use of a shared outside space - to sit and have a drink in the evening

Hi Ketih. We glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay in Camborne Property Owner

A bottle opener would help not everyone drinks cans. Also would be a ideal to have a shower mat didn't want to slip. I found the shower base too high for comfort.

Thank you so much for choosing to stay with us. We take all the feedback we receive very seriously as were always striving to make our guests feel as welcome as possible and give them the best experience we can. We do normally purchase those items and weren't awake they were no longer in the property so thank you for bringing this to our attention. should you have informed us using the number in the guest manual we would of been happy to supply this for you. Next time you stay with us be assured that there will be a bottle opener there for you;) Take care and all the best from our Camborne team. Property Owner

Cooking, no steamer, roasting tray ect. Bathroom, to small should be cheaper price

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We will look into adding to our kitchenware and seeing what additions we could make. The property does have a full-length mirror for our guests to use when getting ready for exploring the local area. Property Owner
