• "It’s a lovely place to stay."

  Great location, comfortable with great facilities and very comfy beds. I’d urge the owner to stay in it from time to time as some little tweaks would make it even better eg toiletry holder near bath / shower. The garden was a disappointment for the dog as I expected the grass area which appeared in the listing. All in all though a very pleasant stay and I’d return for the location and views.

• "In the advert it said enclosed garden but it isn't enclosed which meant our dog could get out in to the carpark area."

  Under the furniture in the living room there was dirt, dust & pet hair, I had to pull out the furniture to vacuum underneath the furniture to clean, the cleaners need to do this when preparing the property

  Feedback: Torches had no batteries, maybe supply rechargeable torches. Patio doors from main bedroom would benefit from a deep clean around the frames as they are getting black mould growth. We couldn't find the recycle bags as they were not by No5 wheelie bin. Hope that helps and and thanks again for a pleasant stay.

• "We first stayed at Moonsail 6 years ago and loved it."

  The location alone was fantastic but the property was extremely comfortable and the fixtures and fittings were top notch. This time however it was clear the fixtures and fittings had not changed or been replaced over the last 6 years and some were rather tired. A shortage of crockery and glassware being particularly of note and the cutlery was a bit of a Mismash. The Sky box had to be rebooted three times in the week we were there as it kept losing its channels. Overall though, still a lovely property in a great location and we will probably book again.

• "We had a lovely holiday in moonsail."

  Very clean. Comfy bed and good showers. Light and airy with good outdoor space and a private parking spot. Bottle of wine and flowers were a lovely suprise. After long days out in lovely weather it was a treat to return and relax in the evenings. Great location. Already booked for 2025. !

• "Lovely flat in a fantastic location, with the additional benefit of being pet friendly."

  Our only problem was the Spinnaker parking, with both residents and holiday lets double parking in single spaces. The residents whose parking was directly behind our allocated space had visitors staying and so parked their two estate cars directly behind ours blocking us in. Frustratingly, they rarely answered their door and on the one occasion they did, had been drinking and told us they were unable to move their car. Although they did the following morning, they then still continued to park there! Worth noting for anyone who plans to use their cars a lot. With this in mind and yet another huge price increase for next year (we understand costs increase but it’s doubled in 4 years) we just don’t think it’s worth the money anymore and so sadly won’t be returning to this area for the first time in over 20 years of holidaying there.

  We have stayed here a number of times. It would be nice to be able to hose the garden and the back. A few more utensils and a tumble dryer. A bin in the smaller bedroom other than that it was perfect.

• "Fabulous! The only thing I didn’t like was having to leave!"

  This apartment was spotlessly clean, spacious, well equipped, furnished to a high standard and has sea views. The beds are comfortable. It’s a short walk to the beach, however, the road is very steep, which is something to consider if you have any mobility issues. The apartment is perfectly located to explore the area. We had our food shopping delivered (as we do at home) but there is a decent sized Tesco close by and we spotted most of the big supermarkets within a short drive. We usually make a point of staying somewhere different every time we come to Cornwall but we would happily return here. I would recommend it to anyone.

• "The property was very very good - very well equipped - living rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms ideal - outside area very handy The only slight negative was the cleaning team arrived at 9."

  Beautifully set out, like a home from home with everything we needed. Clean and comfortable. Guests treats a welcome touch especially the dog treats :) Would happily stay here again. • "The cottage was lovely and very comfortable."

  We arrived late as there was disruptions on the trains so the welcome pack including wine was very much appreciated. We stayed in and cooked a couple of nights and the cottage had everything we needed in the kitchen. It was in a good location for walking to local eateries and we loved La Casita (we visited it twice as my husband loved the Paella) and we also had a lovely meal at the beach club restaurant down in the bay - but watch the wine prices! We would definitely recommend this property to anyone thinking of staying.

• "The hand basin in the shower room was blocked and the tap had to be held still with one hand in order to turn the tap either way."

  The basin became disgusting to use. There was no signal from Carbis Bay - which is something Sykes must be aware of. I borrowed a computer to send an email and my phone number so that I could be texted. We received the normal automated reply acknowledging the receipt of our email and nothing further for the rest of our stay. There is nowhere in the shower to put soap, shampoo or face cloth, which all have to be juggled while taking a shower. When paying the equivalent of a month's rental for a family home, you do expect everything to be in working order! Most businesses use texting as a way to be able to contact even when phone reception is poor. Sykes needs to move into the 21st century.

• "We booked a week at Moonsail with our dog."

  The apartment was beautifully appointed and met our expectations. I agree the path down to the beach is steep but it’s expected to be as we are in a bay. The beach at Carbis Bay & Porth Kidney were stunning, particularly the latter as it’s open to dogs all year round. What you don’t get at Porth Kidney is the facilities such as toilets / refreshments or parking. We walked the 3km south coast trail path and back to the apartment or parked at the church in Lelant late afternoon. I would thoroughly recommend Moonsail to dog owners as all needs catered for.   The yard outside had a pizza oven and a BBQ both were both not fit to use and unfortunately the yard floor needed a good hosing The apartment was excellent we had the electrician who-sorted a new fan quickly in one of the bathrooms The literature states a short walk to beach we found it very steep and the return walk was very taxing for older people Very good for Tesco etc

• "Very comfortable and well equipped, even for the dog."

  We all commented on how comfortable the beds were and the quality of the furnishings. Up to the high standard we have come to expect from Carbis Bay holidays. Initially I was a little concerned about the dog and cream carpets in the hallway and living room , however they were spotless and the availability of a very efficient vacuum cleaner meant we could clean up as necessary. Outside space was bigger than expected and the sofa seating an unexpected bonus. I’d like to suggest an additional blind or curtain at the French doors in the main bedroom as the folding blinds are very thin and the sun rises on that side of the property so it was very light in the room shortly after 5am. A thoroughly enjoyable stay, only wish we’d booked for longer.

• "We have been visiting for a few years now and will continue to do so."

  We love the area and the walks are amazing, this year we were disappointed with the welcome pack, in previous years we have had poo bags for the dog, scones cream etc but none of this was there this year.

• "Very nice apartment."

  Good location within walking distance to the beach. Generous sized , clean, good tv. Have stayed in Carbis Bay a lot over the years and this apartment is right up there in terms of the best we have stayed at for the price paid. Not a fan of leather sofas ( bit small). Other than that would definitely use again. Probably the worst weather I have ever had in Cornwall

• "It would have been nice if the faults we found ie no shelf for drink in the fridge door."

  Dirty back yard squeaky fridge door. Dirty cutlery chipped cups and plates. Dusty head board in the main bedroom . If these had been resolved before our stay it would have been amazing. Easy to fix faults that should never have happened. The office did sort what they could which helped. If these things were fixed it would have been 5 stars all the way.

• "Overall a beautiful apartment with high quality fixtures and fittings in an ideal location."

  The welcome pack was a nice touch. However, there were a number of issues we need to bring to your attention: The twin beds were not pushed together into a double as requested when booking. There was no Nintendo Wii games console, controllers etc as stated in the accommodation details. The washing machine was very dirty with gunk and mould. We had to clean the drawer and door seal then run a hot wash before we felt able to use it; not something you want to spend time doing on holiday! It may be beneficial to put a notice on or near the machine requesting that the drawer and door be left open after use to allow it to dry out. Also for the machine to be regularly checked and cleaned. It was stated that a hand towel, bath towel and bath sheet would be provided for each guest but there was only a hand towel and bath sheet. There were complimentary toiletries for three guests rather than four. The bottom of the blinds in the main bedroom were dirty/mouldy and one of the plastic tabs was broken. The wire racks on the barbecue were rusty. We have been staying in self catering accommodation in Cornwall, and throughout the UK, for many years. This was our first time with Carbis Bay Holidays and we were disappointed that we found it necessary to have to bring these issues to your attention.

• "Accomodation and facilities second to none will definitely book moonsail again."

  Only negative thing we would say - getting in accomodation at 4pm and having to leave at 9am should be reviewed as covid restrictions have now finished. We travel from sheffield 6 hour journey - would be much better to get in for 2pm and leave at 10am particularly if a short break. Thankyou.

• "We had a amazing week at Moonsail considering it was January we were very lucky with the weather daily walks on Carbis bay beach."

  Several walks into St Ives along the coastal route. Felt fitter after the week very steep hill on the return walk but well worth it. Moonsail was a beautiful place to stop in very comfortable, we loved the jacuzzi bath. Lovely welcome gifts,it felt like home it had everything you could possibly need including a fan which my daughter uses every night. Would definitely come back.

• "Another fabulous holiday at Carbis bay."

  We have stayed in a number of properties over the last 7/8 years and Moonsail was one of our favourites. It was very well equipped with everything you could need and more. A short walk down to the beach but a bit steep on the way back up but to be expected in Carbis bay. Sadly this may be our last break in Carbis bay as the prices have increased about 2 1/2 times for next year on this years price which does not seem justified as still only getting the same property.

• ".A Wonderful, large and overall comfortable property. Would like to point out a few minor issues"

  . The kitchen tap was dripping from the minute we arrived. Thus should have been reported as I'm sure the cleaners would have noticed. The kitchen bin was an issue, with the lid closing. The plastic catch was bent and eventually snapped, through wear and tear. Poor quality bin, compared to all the other appliances and equipment. The lighting to the large bathroom mirrors could be improved to allow shaving and applying makeup. The shower screen wasn't particularly clean upon arrival nor was some cutlery. ( A fork was filthiest). Given the 8 hour cleaning window of 9am until 5pm this should be 100% spotless). We haven't had any previous issues with our carbis bay holidays in the past. Whilst the above points are negative, the overall experience was still very good. Kind regards Sean

  We followed one of the recommended walks in the 'Moonsail' information pack and took the coastal footpath to Lelant. Had lunch at the Badger pub. Then caught the train back to St.Ives to finish the day off. Another day we drove to Truro one of our favourite Cornish towns and got the River Fal to Trellisik? and spent an afternoon in the gardens. On Friday the only rainy day we visited the Eden project. Well worth giving a day to. We would be happy to stay at 'Moonsail' again and enjoyed our stay. There is parking for a large car and the supermarket is also very handy for supplies." G. WIlliams

  We were surprised we were allowed to take our dog into the Theatre as well, which was fabulous. We also drove to Lizard Point and had a pleasant stroll down to the old lifeboat station before enjoying a proper Cornish Pasty for lunch. During our previous stays we have also visited Trebah Gardens, St Michael's Mount, Sennen Cove and Mousehole Penzance is always a good trip to wonder around the shops and while away a few hours. Although we live in Cornwall, we just love St Ives and its many beaches. I have some fantastic scenic photographs. We enjoy the train ride into St Ives, even the dog! Everyone is extremely friendly and welcoming. The Sheaf of Wheat and the Sloop Inn are our favourite dining experiences." N. & M. Wood
