A short walk towards the sea leads you to Carbis Bay Beach, this beautiful bay is Blue Flag awarded, for its azure-coloured waters, boasts a golden sandy beach and is lifeguarded at peak times, perfect for enjoying the water sports on offer or splashing with little ones in the Cornish waves.
The South West Coast Path can be picked up at the beach, locally it leads to Hayle Estuary in one direction and St Ives in the other, a dramatic cliffside walk, filled with wildlife, if you’re lucks in you may even be accompanied by dolphins playing in the bay.
The pretty traditional Cornish fishing village of St Ives is filled with restaurants, cafes and boutiques, among its picturesque, cobbled streets, its colours have inspired artists worldwide and many are celebrated in The Tate and Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, this is one of the many galleries around the town, after exploring take the scenic route home, hop on the St Ives railway, it hugs the Cornish coast, connecting the surrounding area and is a breath-taking trip.
Cornwall’s is world famous for its glorious enclosed rainforest, the Eden Project, near St Austell, Pendennis Castle in Falmouth is one of many of Cornwall’s historic landmarks, along with St Michaels Mount near Penzance, the jewel in Cornwall’s crown, this is a sight not to miss, if you travel from Penzance to Lands’ End stop off at the open air theatre set on the edge of a Cornish cliff, it’s so dramatic and the backdrop of the Atlantic ocean is magical, feeding the animals at Paradise Park, in Hayle, is great fun for little ones, while the thrilling rides at Flambards Theme Park near Helston will excite older children.
