• "The apartment was fantastic with wonderful views."

  Everything in the apartment was perfect and really felt like home. The only little blip was that neither TV in the bedrooms got any signal. I'm guessing this was weather-related as it was cloudy and misty most of the time. This was really a small minor comment and didn't spoil our stay. We would definitely return to this apartment.

  Hi Denise - many thanks for the excellent review. I can only apologise for the lack of TV signal in both bedrooms - I assume you mean live transmitted TV rather than catchup. For future reference, this very occasionally happens when a guest or cleaner has moved the curtains and this has disturbed the connections to the aerial splitter which also feeds the bedroom signals. Easily checked and fixed. Apologies. All TVs are smart so should be able to watch catchup programmes and streaming services. Best wishes. John Property Owner

• "Really one of the best we have stayed in not just the wonderful view but very well equipped ."

  It was very good of the owner John not inform us after a long journey that we may enter the appartment early . The only problem we had although the master bed was comfortable we had a bit of difficulty getting out of bed due to it being quite low . Maybe our age . Look forward to return again

• "Amazing apartment with breathtaking views."

  Very spacious with everything required (one small improvement would be hooks in the bathrooms). Even the car parking space was very generous (even with a big car) Lovely waking up to the view of the beach. Few minutes walk to the beach avoiding the majority of the steep hill. Had a wonderful two weeks staying here as a family. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend.

• "This is an amazing apartment with so much attention given to providing everything you could want technology wise!"

  We really enjoyed the outside space and the easy access to the beach. The ONLY improvement I can think of is to provide an extra set of keys!

  HI - thanks for your positive feedback. I'm sorry that you could not find the extra set of keys.. CBH, having recently ceased to offer "Meet and Greet", have very recently implemented a system in which guests collect keys from the key safe which only contains once set. Another set should be provided in the apartment, normally in the welcome basket, most probably with the Tate St Ives pass attached. Apologies if this wasn't apparent or was missing. I'll ask the property team to ensure the second set is present. Property Owner

• "Gorgeous, spacious, spotlessly clean apartment; furnished with impeccable taste and no expense spared, it has everything you need and much more."

  Literally the only thing we missed were bathroom hooks for our dressing gowns. A toiletry shelf in the shower would be handy too, for those of us who find all that bending down a bit of a challenge. But they are nit-picks; it truly is the most wonderful apartment we have ever stayed in. I’ve returned home an Alexa convert, much to the other half’s delight, and we will definitely be coming back.

• "Hello yes I would like to share something which we’ve mentioned before when staying in this apartment - it is very nice indeed but it does need a black out curtain / lining on the balcony door from the main bedroom - the lights from the public entrances shine brightly outside and illuminate the room - and this kept waking us up - we improvise by hanging a dark beach towel from the door but it really needs a blackout lining there."

  Another thing which would be advantageous would be to swap the bed in that room for one which is much higher to get into and out of : it’s very difficult for us older people to get into and out of - it’s almost like sleeping on the floor!. A super king size would be good too! Just a suggestion ! Or add another mattress on top!

  Hi Thank you for your feedback. We have recently replaced the bedroom curtains and consciously chose not to fit blackout linings since our sleep pattern is to be woken gradually as the sun rises. The lights to which you refer are not directly outside the bedroom but may reflect from the balcony glazing which may produce a very subdued amount of light. We don't notice since we are used to streetlights outside at home. We recognise that some people do prefer pitch black sleeping conditions which might more easily be achieved in an apartment away from the central section. Similarly the height of beds, like the softness of a mattress is a personal preference, and unfortunately we cannot suit everyone’s requirement all of the time. Aquamarine, very similarly equipped, has a divan bed rather than a frame, and so the mattress does sit considerably higher which may suit you better. Property Owner

• "We had high expectations as we are regular visitors to Carbis Bay Beach Apartments, having stayed in numerous different apartments there."

  Having previously stayed in Aquamarine, we knew the high level of comfort to expect given they both have the same owners, and we were not disappointed! (One small note is that the lid on the kettle was broken however this didn’t impact it’s operation.) With regards to the low score relating to recommending Skyes, this is purely based on the extreme 2022 price hike, with apartments being priced twice as high as this year! Given this we are unlikely to book with you again and have instead chosen to book our two weeks at Carbis Bay Beach Apartments next year with an alternative provider.

  Hi Vicky As owners, we too were not comfortable with the Sykes' demand led dynamic pricing model, which saw prices increase very significantly when initially launched. Instead, we withheld our apartments from any marketing during the remainder of 2021 and have only recently launched 2022 with prices generally only moderately increased in line with inflationary pressures. • "We love these apartments however just a couple of things to note to maintain the high standards."

  Balcony was not clean. It also needs new balcony furniture. En Suite bath was blocked. Certain things in kitchen like coffee machine were not clean. Standard generally is very high but must be kept on top of to keep the 5 star rating.

• "We have spent another wonderful week here in our ‘home from home’ this was our 5th stay!"

  Again, blessed with the weather and have spent the week exploring and eating! Would highly recommend the lost gardens of Heligan be sure to go to the Jungle Area. Revisited our favourite places, Kynance Cove and Mousehole. Had a fantastic meal at ‘Beer and Bird’ amazing chicken and chicken burgers and as many beers as you manage! As always will miss waking up to the views and listening to the waves! Hope to be back again!

  We always walk into St Ives usually via the coastal path and occasionally along the road when visiting St Ives at night when there are no trains. We also often walk along the coastal path to Porth Kidney ( Hayle Towans) beach and love to do this when the tide is out also and we can walk this way along the beach. We had one trip out which was to Newlyn as I wanted to find a gallery there, we had a walk around and bought some locally caught Turbot there which was delicious. We dined at the Seafood restaurant on our first night out and had a splendid meal there also at the Loft on our second night.   I did leave a leaflet in the apartment for a Chinese restaurant in St Ives, which was fantastic. I can't remember the name though. I did the usual walks along the coastal path to Hayle, to St Ives the other way and, of course, on the beach. I also found an excellent 'health clinic' just set back from the main streets in St Ives (near the Chinese restaurant) where I would recommend anyone to go who suffers from any pain or energy-related illness. A lot of the time, however, I just relaxed at the apartment, taking in the view and the sound of the sea, watching a load of films.Thanks for another lovely stay." S. Read

  One of the nicest places we've ever stayed in, the apartment itself was gorgeous and the ipad was a lovely touch. The kitchen was extremely well stocked with everything you could wish for and the rest of the accommodation was beautifully furnished.The location of the apartment was superb also. 2 mins walk from the train station and 2 mins walk from the beach, plus the balcony overlooked the beach was was amazing. Waking up the the sound of the waves every morning was idyllic. We didn't go on many walks but we did walk from the apartment to St Ives once. I would strongly recommend this (or at least getting the train), as driving in the centre of St Ives is difficult even at the quietest of times. We went for a few meals in St Ives and although we enjoyed each and every one, we particularly enjoyed The Loft., The Hub and Blas Burgerworks." V. Mohring

Also walk around the farm was good (and free!). Had several coffees at Hub in St Ives - go upstairs for views of the harbour - and child friendly.
