Starting of with the holiday home, it was very pleasant to stay in, the cutlery was clean and beds were a nice size, we got 3 bathrooms which was plenty and very useful ! It is also safe for your animal friends since the garden is enclosed ! There is a lovely porch area and swing to hang out in your freetime too ! This home is also VERY useful ! It is local to takeaways, a local costcutter, trainstation, bustation, hair dressers and beach. Everything in this home is also very straightforward to use ! E.g dishwasher, kettle, shower, ect. Going back to the garden, the patio has a steepish step to go down, and perhaps something could be put there for people who have restricted mobility. Everything overall was absolutely great, we've visited this home before and would highly recommend going ! Thank you !

The garden was perfect for them. My only comment would be that access via the back gate would have been handy so that we could have brought muddy dogs through to the tap in the garden in order to clean them up after muddy walks. (it seemed to be locked). The bungalow was comfortable and cosy and handily placed for Carbis Bay beach. The kitchen door is a bit sticky. All in all we had a great stay.

The location was perfect being within a short distance of both St Ives, Penzance and the main A30. The station is a short walk down the hill which was ideal for jumping on the train to St Ives :) . On day two we had no hot water however the property management team were straight on it and sent an engineer out that day (even though he did blame us for the issue which was a little naughty as we hadn't actually touched anything)... Other than this and finding the gardener stood on the rear patio just before 8 o'clock one morning (I don't know who got more of a shock) we had a nice time and would certainly consider booking again.... Really pleased

  • "We had a a lovely week staying at Tremar and would thoroughly recommend it and will definitely consider booking it again."

Just a couple of things that would have made it 5 stars for us - bedside tables and some kind of fencing/gate to stop the dogs getting on the grassed area if necessary. The grass was quite long, which is understandable at this time of year, and if we'd let our dogs out on their own and they'd done their business we'd have had a hard job finding it and I'd hate for the next guests to come across it. We made a barrier on the patio with the table and chairs so they could only go on the patio which I could easily see to clear up. It sounds like I'm nit picking but it is something that would have just made our stay easier especially when the dogs want to go out at 6am in the rain!

  • "Here are some key points from our stay at Tremar: The location of the property is absolutely perfect."

10 min walk to the beach, 5 min walk to fields behind the property which has a sea view. 10 min walk to places to eat. 5 min drive to shops. Our dog loved exploring the fields and beach. The location is perfect for dog owners with plenty of amazing walks on the doorstep. The property itself was also perfect, we found everything to be sufficient for our needs. Heating / hot water worked very effectively, water pressure is great and we found the beds comfortable. No welcome pack upon arrival, little disappointed that no welcome pack was provided, we had a long drive to the property and it would have been nice to have a few bits to enjoy when we arrived. The garden was not cut for our stay. I also noted that the previous review in April-23 stated the grass had not been cut and that the owner would ensure this was done. If the garden had been cut and more outside furniture was present it would have been nice to utilize the outside space more. The property has CCTV overlooking the driveway, front of house and rear garden. Whilst I understand why CCTV is used for the driveway and front of house, I am not sure I agree with CCTV being used in the garden. We were not notified that CCTV was present at the property before booking. Whilst this wasn’t an issue for us, if we had children I would not want CCTV overlooking the garden. In addition one camera overlooks the rear bedroom and if you were unaware of the CCTV it would be able to view directly into the bedroom if the curtains / blinds were open. I would advise that the owner makes people aware of this factor when booking or look to reduce cameras in the rear of the property so guests have privacy. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at Tremar and would stay again the future.

Thanks for your feedback. We sadly had some issues with a changeover of gardener which meant there was a longer than usual period of time where the garden was unattended, thankfully we now have a regular gardener again so this shouldn't be the case. We're so glad to hear you enjoyed your overall stay and liked the property and the area. The CCTV is not operational. This was installed when it was a residential property and there is no internal set up for this. We hope to see you again. Property Owner

Also the mattress was soooo hard like sleeping on the floor. Spent the first night on the sofa as it was painful to lie on. Luckily i called the emergency number and asked for a mattress topper which they did no problem the next day so that was great and made the bed more comfortable but still too small for 2 adults so had to switch with my daughter. The bedroom at the front could easily take 2 single beds if you remove the huge wardrobe. My teenager was too big for the bunk beds and just found it uncomfortable as well. I do appreciate i knew about the bunk beds but just hoped it would be ok for him. Everything was really tired and needs replacing the garden wasn't mowed and there was nothing to sit on outside so didn't use the garden. It's a real shame cause we had a lovely time despite the issues raised we loved the area and the space in the property was great and the kitchen was well equipped but the issue with the beds mean we couldn't stay there again unfortunately. This property just needs a few tweaks and would be perfect. Sorry we can't give a better review.

Firstly we appreciate you taking the time to let us know your thoughts. I have no idea why the mattress topper wasn't on the bed as this is standard and can only apologise. The garden has been left over the winter months and is now part of a scheduled routine however, I also appreciate this should have been done by now and again apologise as I thought it had been. We're glad your overall stay in the house and area were enjoyable - thank you. Property Owner

The bungalow is perfectly situated in a quiet residential area in beautiful Carbis Bay. The accommodation is just a couple of minutes walk to Carbis Bay train station which has a regular service to St. Ives. Alternatively you can walk the coastal path but please be aware it’s not very pram friendly which we soon discovered. Moreover, the hill down to the train station and beach is very steep and not for those who have trouble with mobility and it was a struggle with the pram on the way back up. The beach itself is gorgeous and our children didn’t want to leave. I’m terms of accommodation the kitchen is well equipped and part of an open plan kitchen/dining/living area. The owners have created a home from home with flat screen TV and a DVD selection. The garden is enclosed and was perfect for our dog and children to have a run around. There are fields behind the garden which give a real sense of calm and there’s a glimpse of the sea in the distance. The bedrooms are very well presented and perfect for families with two showers and the option for a bath. The wooden floors throughout the property make this a real family and pet friendly place to stay. I don’t know whether we couldn’t find this, but a book of information would have helped us with a few things e.g what to do with recycling. We kept our recycling separate but couldn’t see a recycling bin. Overall a beautiful place to stay and I’d highly recommend this well maintained and gorgeous bungalow in the beautiful County of Cornwall. Thank you to the owners for sharing this delightful property.

The location was great and we found the property very spacious and perfect for what we needed. It was great to have the high chair and the property was warm apart from the first room on your right but we didn’t use that so it wasn’t an issue. We marked some of the questions lower because we found the cutlery and dishes in the cupboards dirty, so we had to re wash everything before we could use it. We did travel very far and as we arrived later in the day I thought there would be a welcome pack with Tea/coffee/biscuits for us to tuck into, but there wasn’t anything so we had to go straight out to get some. We also found the floors to be very dusty and dirty. But despite that, I would stay again as it was comfortable and we did feel that it was good value for money especially over the Christmas period

Since some reviews on this page mentioning the sofas, these have now been changed and are comfy and lots of sitting space. Master bedroom; the bed is on the small side and the frame needs replacing as every time you move it sounds like it’s going to collapse which makes for a restless night, there is only 1 bedside table and plug sockets only on one side of the bed. Outside: there was no outside light which made taking the dog out in the garden challenging at night, and the garden isn’t overly secure. Finally, I think it would be worth alerting guests that the outside of the property is well covered in CCTV, it didn’t bother us as we weren’t doing anything wrong, but it does make you feel a little ‘watched’ and I think It would of bothered me more if we were visiting in the summer months and sitting in the garden socialising etc.

Mr Noble, thank you for your feedback, we appreciate you taking the time. We're pleased you liked the new sofas. With regards to the bed in the master bedroom, we were not aware of this issue and will get that sorted. The outside light is something that had been scheduled to be fitted but it was sadly not possible before your visit, this has now been done. You mentioned the CCTV which we want to confirm is actually not live. The cameras are from when the property was a personal residence and there is no feed of any kind. We appreciate all the things you have flagged and will endeavor to ensure future stays for guests are as comfortable and relaxed as possible. Mrs Horne. Property Owner

    1. Egg cups 2. A light outside at the back. It’s difficult to find the dog in the dark and make sure any mess is cleared away. The torch by the back door doesn't work. 3. The back door doesn’t lock with the key from the outside. This makes it difficult to go out and leave people sleeping as you can only lock the front door from the outside or exit through the bedroom patio door and lock that. A second set of keys would help. 4. Really needs a bedside table in the back bedroom.

We appreciate you taking the time to give us your feedback. We're sorry you didn't locate the egg cups at the property, we have established they were in fact there but there were not enough for all guests and have now rectified this. We're also sorry you couldn't lock the back door from the outside, we've checked this and can confirm it's fully working. The house had clearly been renovated to a high standard. Having said that I felt some of the furniture could do with updating, namely the wooden bed in the back room for us was a bit uncomfortable and we felt the crockery was not the best quality. Some of it was dirty when we arrived. We felt the overall cleanliness was ok but not to as a high a standard as we hoped. Prior to our arrival we had liaised with Sykes about concerns around the top bunk bed as the picture gave the impression there was no safety bar. Our interaction was difficult and we ended up buying a temporary one as we were told nothing could be done. When we arrived the bed had the necessary bar in place so that was frustrating and could have been handled better. Overall Carbis bay is a lovely place and the road where the house situated was very quiet and peaceful.

Very clean and really comfy beds. Sofas could be abit more comfortable but minor issue! There's no tumble dryer or line prop so if the weather is bad you'll struggle to get clothes dry. This was our only major issue really. It is a self catering bungalow, we thought we might get some cleaning bits and bobs, and we did, but definitely not enough for a week so bear that in mind. Excellent area though. 5 minute walk from the train to st ives and the Carbis Bay beach looks like you're on a foreign holiday! So beautiful. One downside to the beach is there isn't cafes like you get at St Ives and the like, so take a picnic. There is a lovely freshwater stream that comes all the way down the beach to sea that was really popular with toddlers and young children. Ideal beach for families with young children. Overall, for the cost we paid, the bungalow was a bargain. Really clean, really comfortable, quiet area, pub up the road.

The location is perfect, walking distance to Carbis Bay beach or to the train station to get to other places such as St Ives if you want to avoid parking there. All the amenities were great, bonus with a huge bath in one bathroom and powerful shower in the other. Beds comfortable, linen and towels good quality. Wifi and TV with Netflix, catch up tv etc which is handy if travelling with children. The only thing we felt it missed was more comfy sofas but it didn’t impact on our experience. The accommodation was well maintained, modern, spacious and big windows and plenty of light. Only two things, we think could be improved, Mattresses could have been a bit more comfortable, we could feel the springs. No frying pan. Everything was easy to use and the fact that the oven is off the ground was handy with a small baby crawling around. It is worth having a look though the cupboards and draws when you arrive because there was plenty entertainment and books etc. Really useful stuff to keep everyone entertained! The TV was modern and had access to all apps etc. so we could log into Netflix, YouTube etc. Which was great for us in the evening and to keep the kids entertained when needed. The cleanliness was very good and everywhere which needed to be was spotless, however it was clear the cleaners hadn’t done everywhere as when we moved things like mats and chairs, and when the baby got behind furniture it was quite dusty/ animal hairy which wasn’t great but would not put us off going again! The bedrooms are amazing! Minimal but beautifully furnished, lots of storage space, and super comfy beds! The bunk bed room is just as pictured, the double room with en-suite is lovely and a blind has been put on the internal door which is a nice touch to keep the light out! The shower of the en-suite is also lovely, good pressure and plenty of space to actually wash! The far double bedroom, which overlooks the patio area is lovely and we choose this one and gave the kids the two bedrooms by the front door! This was particularmy nice as it felt like we had our own space but were still within ear shoot, would be an especially lovely room in the summer as the double doors from the bedroom open directly onto the patio area. The only thing missing from bedrooms was bedside tables and the bed sheets were white (not patterned as seen in the pictures) making it feel quite clinical, so these would be nice just to give it more of a homely feel! Finally, the local area does have a cost cutter, pharmacy and fish and chips shop, other than that we didn’t see very much else and if you are visiting for the beech it is a STEEP hill down, whereas I was informed it was a gentle slope! It is not, so just be prepared for that! It didn’t overly affect our stay as it wasn’t our main reason for visiting but was a shock when we decided to take a stroll to the beach one morning! Overall, a fabulous stay and would definitely stay there again.
