  • "This was our first stay at the cottage and it was delightful, comfortable, felt like home from home."

The views of St Michaels Mount and Mounts Bay are breathtaking from almost every aspect of the front of the cottage. The kitchen is very well stocked with every utensil and crockery you need to cook a family meal with. What go out to eat when you can have such a great family meal looking at the wonderful views. Afterwards play a board game or do a jigsaw puzzle with the great collection provided. The only downside to our stay is the very narrow & steep access to the cottage if you have a big car. Not only is the driveway narrow, it’s easier to reverse in to it from the steep blind bend, but so are the access road very narrow up to the cottage. My husband blew his tyre on the first day by hitting the granite kerb on the way down the hill! We then decided to pay to park for the week in the long stay car park on the front by Marazion beach. My husband would drop me off by Cutty Sark hotel car park with shopping etc everyday as you can access the back garden of the cottage through the Cutty Sark car park. So solved the problem and the nerves!! Hence why I didn’t give our stay 5 stars.

  • "Lovely property with fantastic views."

The cottage was fully equipped with everything we needed. Highly recommended. The lane to the cottage is narrow but I managed to get our discovery 5 down there no problem. Do not let this deter you from booking.

  • "Exterior of property does not present good first impression however internally the property is very well presented and equipped."

Parking was challenging due to size of our car, I found it easier to turn the car around on the corner past the cottage and then driving forward into the parking space.

  • "Stunning views from the property but hedges and willow tree need to be trimmed before the view is lost!"

Kitchen is very well equipped with loads of spare plates and glasses, good cooker too. Easy access through hotel car park into the village. Visits to the national Trust Mount are internet bookings only so might be worth booking in advance. East beach is dog friendly 24/7 but has a steep staircase down to it(only point of access). Fish and chip shop does some lovely ice cream flavours. Village stores sells local products including Tarquins Gin which was excellent. Art galleries have lots of choice and jewellery shop has lots to tempt you. Be aware if you have a large car that access is pretty challenging, one inch clearance either side on an Audi A6 up the lane and reversing ability required to get in between the posts onto the parking area. If that's a problem I would negotiate with the Marazion Hotel for a weeks parking as there is a gate into the property from their car park. Used Marine Discovery for some trips into Mounts Bay, had pods of dolphins surrounding the boat on both trips and saw lots of other wildlife. Great trip on a catamaran so loads of space and very stable. Also surfed with the local Surf School from Praa sands. Excellent tuition and equipment.
