  • "We had a very comfortable week staying at Nana’s house but there are a few issues which need to be dealt with:- Peeling wallpaper in the bedroom and an obvious water ingression or dampness issue causing discolouration of the wall."

Various areas needing a paint touch up. The shower is not fit for purpose.A trickle of water is not a shower and in the £1000+/week price bracket this is not acceptable. Although the bed linen is clean, it is old and discoloured. It needs to be replaced. Nevertheless we still enjoyed our week as the house is very well located and comfortable. We would not use Sykes again due to the lack of a contact number which immediately connects you to a human being and not a bot. Most other companies give you a local contact number which you can use if you have any problems.

Your comments have been duly noted, thankyou. However, there is no wallpaper in the bedroom? In fact, there is no wallpaper anywhere in the house? The shower has been checked & is functioning perfectly well, so I cannot understand why you only experienced a "trickle of water?" I'm really pleased your stay was comfortable though. Thanks again for the feedback. Property Owner

  • "The cottage is in a fantastic location with wonderful sea views."

The cottage was perfect for two people. A couple of minor issues- there was no hairdryer at the property which I would have expected and the door to the front bedroom does not close. It would have been nice to have some private outside space but the location of the cottage is so lovely that this makes up for this. Developed my skills of getting in and out of the garage as the week went on! We would definitely return. Marazion is a beautiful place.

Thanks for the positive comments, sadly the hairdryer has gone astray but has now been replaced. Property Owner

  • "Well appointed cottage in a superb sea view location and dog friendly beach."

Access to public transport is yards from the cottage which for a nominal £2 or bus pass takes you to most parts of South Cornwall. The garage is a huge bonus in an area where car parking is limited. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and look forward to another stay at Nana’s House in the future.

  • "Absolutley perfect location!"

1 minute from nearest beach and local shops, Marazion has everything you need for a lovely family break. The cottage itself was beautifully presented but could of done with a deep clean as we found the odd cobweb. There was a slight musky smell (in the kitchen cabinets) and it would of been nice if there was heater in the toilet (the seat was cold at night & morning) We would happily come back again, love Marazion and the surrounding areas, kids loved the walks on the rocks and to St michaels mount aswell as the play park near the long stay car park. Garage is very handy! We had a hyundai tucson SUV which fit in perfectly. All of us had an excellent sleep in the comfy beds and the downstairs layout was perfect for a small family.

  • "Difficult to give proper feedback as out of a 7day holiday, we were only there for 3 days as my husband was taken ill suddenly and we had to return home where he was hospitalised for a week."

Whilst the cottage was clean and wonderfully situated for the views, we would stress that the stairs at the cottage are not suitable for older people or anyone with a disability. The bannister handrail does not go right to the top of the stairs. So when you go to come downstairs out of either bedroom, there is nothing to hold on to until you are 3 or 4 steps down the stairs which my husband found very disturbing. It is in need of a handrail right at the top of the stairs to enable you to hold on whilst com8ng out of the bedrooms before you actually start to negotiate the stairs.

Sorry to hear your husband was taken ill, I hope he's fully recovered. I just wanted to let any future guests know that I've had a handrail fitted, hopefully this will make it easier to manage the stairs. Property Owner

  • "Lovely little cottage."

Beautifully situated. I did write in the visitors book I couldn't work out how to get the normal television programme on. Perhaps an idiots guide would be good. The shower really needs updating it just spurts out water. There is nowhere to hang clothes when it's been raining or did a bit of washing in the machine, the airer is broken, which was reported in previous times. I tried ringing Sykes to see is we could have a number to ring to sort the television out but couldn't get through, I felt we were a big cut off with no emergency number. The cottage was spotlessly clean and the beds very comfortable,we had a lovely holiday and by the way, once you've managed to park once, it's quite easy after that.

  • "Our stay was lovely."

Well equipped, so close to the beach and St Michael’s Mount. It was nice keeping the car in the garage instead of on the road or parked away from the property. Was great having wifi as phone signal can be almost non existent in the property. Bed was really comfortable and the view from the main bedroom is amazing. It was exactly what we wanted for a short break. Doggy loved the space too. Couple of things to mention and tbh are very minor in my opinion, the clothes dryer could do with replacing simply because it doesn’t latch into place on the one side, the power shower pulses but it wouldn’t stop me staying again, and it might have been nice for a little blanket or some treats for the dog as a little welcome gift but I think that’s just personal preference. Either way I will definitely book again as it was perfectly located for exploring South West Cornwall.

, was able to catch up with family, Cottage was well equipped, extremely comfortable, wonderful location with the sea view out of the bedroom window and frontroom, St Michael's Mount on other side of bedroom out the window. Wonderful sleep listening to the waves lapping against the rocks. Extremely friendly people, very good local amenities, short walks or buses to penzance, Newlyn, Mousehole, we chose to walk to take in the stunning views. Would well recommend a stay at Nana's Cottage, relived some childhood memories whilst down in Marazion, would seriously reconsider relocating in the near future.

  • "The cottage is well situated with close proximity to beach & bus stops."

We found it quite tidy but there was cobwebs in corners & behind fridge etc. We had a problem with the hot water for kitchen & basins which was out quickly. We would have like a king size bed in main bedroom & also more of a patio area. The steps upstairs are VERY steep & this would be a problem for anyone with a disability. The kitchen table & chairs are also not the best. We were left a cream tea & milk which we appreciated. You can park your car & just get buses into all the towns & a hop on hop off bus that takes you in both directions of Cornwall.

The property was well equipped but the shower needs attention, it is not operating correctly and the shower head needs a good descale as the water doesn’t flow out of all the holes. The ants on the windowsill were a nuisance but overall we had a lovely holiday in an ideal location.

Everything you could possibly need and more with this property. If we come back to Marazion in the future, I will definitely be looking out for Nana's house. The street near to the access for St.Michael's Mount with views to die for! The bed (which is always extremely important to me) was very comfortable and we had a comfortable night sleep. If I was to say anything negative - which is really hard by the way - the sharp knives, really aren't sharp hahaha! Not bad to only have one tiny tiny issue. FANTASTIC! Having use of the garage for parking is invaluable as there isn't a lot of parking close by, people with the biggest cars or less confident drivers might find it a little daunting as its pretty tight down there but our car is almost 5m long and with a bit of thought it was easy enough to swing it around and fit it in the garage. The property is nicely decorated, clean and light. It was the ideal base for our first family holiday to Cornwall. Two slight blemishes on the stay would be how drafty the windows were and the fact there was no heating at all in the WC making for some very chilly toilet experiences. 4/5 Thanks!

Only steps to the beach! This house was comfortable for our family of 4 for the week. Well thought out with tables and chairs that could be brought out and put away as needed (space saving). The toilet/shower rooms are not well insulated which I found a bit uncomfortable as cold. And the master windows were draughty - but we were there at especially windy times (storm Eunice). Bring your slippers and snuggle under the provided blankets, and you'll be OK! Kitchen well enough equipped for us to cook and bake. Beds comfy. Would recommend - Thanks Nana's House!

The cottage itself is clean and tidy and nicely decorated. Considering its small size, all modern facilities are present. Only things to mention are the parking was quite tricky in a large car, requiring reversing down the narrow lane and into the garage. The stairs are very steep, which was difficult for our elderly mothers and only has a handrail on one side. The owner might like to install one on the other side for older guests. Otherwise we had a great stay.

The location is perfect and the views from the master bedroom are breathtaking of St. Michaels Mount. It was a surprise treat to wake up, draw the curtains back and relax with a cup of tea whilst taking in the magnificent view. The only real downside was the parking, it’s super narrow and tight. We have a long car and it didn’t fit in the garage. I had to navigate my husband into the space on arrival and departure from the house. There is no window or air vent in the toilet which you need with it being so close to the kitchen. Also there was a wipe left on the sofa and the cleaners bag left on the doorstep on our arrival. She must have left in a hurry. All in all we really enjoyed our holiday in beautiful Marazion and the last two points are only minor discrepancies. We would definitely revisit Nana’s house if we had a smaller car.

Met all expectations and wanted for nothing within this 2 bedroom home. Everything appears clean and well maintained. Beds comfortable with fresh linen. Sitting area compact but adequate and cute. The only negatives were the conduction hob was difficult to work out how to use it but we got there eventually. I have a fairly large car and it was challenging to manoeuvre it into the space between the house and the garage but by the end of the week realised there is a knack to it. All in all I would definitely return to this cottage and think Nana would be proud of what it has become.

The location was wonderful and the cottage was cosy, clean and had all amenities. The house is bright and airy with modern and new furniture and is a joy to stay in. Parking in the garage was slightly problematic. Tight getting in with my hatchback so a larger saloon might have problems. The only disappointment is that I left a couple of coats behind which I don’t seem to be able to recover, even though I’m willing to pay postage etc. Can’t get a response from Sykes either on how the recovery of my coats is going so I guess they’re now lost.
