I particularly liked the off-road parking, and although it is as tight as described, our Skoda Fabia fit just right. My son was very appreciative of the smart tv

Perhaps both issues are related. Otherwise no issues. Thanks.

If the property had not had its own parking/garage, it would have been horrendous, but once we had mastered the getting in and out of the rear access and getting in and out of the garage it was fine, even with an Audi Q7. On Street Parking was scarce and damaging to many cars due to the tight streets.

Thank you for your great feedback. It was a pleasure and hope you come and stay again soon. Clare and Paul Property Owner

Although small it was so light and airy but also warm and inviting. The owners had provided everything we could possibly need and more for our weeks stay. We didn't use our car once we had parked up, the local buses and train took us to the many nearby other places and our feet to some wonderful pubs.

  • "I rented this cottage based on the great reviews."

Unfortunately, my stay was downgraded due to the lingering pet smell on the main level where the kitchen and living room are located. In spite of opening windows, it never resolved. A good mopping of the woods floors and having the carpet cleaned would probably help. Otherwise, everything worked well and was accurately described.

Thank you Deana for your feedback. We're sorry that you experienced an usual pet smell on the kitchen/living room floor level. I do actually clean the property myself and am surprised to have learnt of this, having moped the floor boards throughly. The carpet you mentioned is upstairs and will be upgraded over the next few months. Glad the rest of your stay was as described and we will ensure this does not occur again. Wishing you well. The house itself was very well appointed with a clean, stylish finish and attention to detail. The hosts kindly left us a bottle of wine, chocolates and treats for our dogs. I can’t recommend this place enough. Parking was a little awkward but we were so grateful to have off street parking in such a central location. Strongly recommend and we would come back in a heartbeat.

We appreciated the cream tea and wine very much. Beds were very comfortable and in general there was everything you needed for a lovely stay. We just wished the weather would have been a bit kinder as we didn't get to do all the walks we wanted to . But maybe next year !! Jim and Lynda

It’s walking distance to town and lovely restaurants and the sea. The beds where so comfortable better than mine at home. The neighbor was lovely too. My cousin lives in Penzance so it was perfect for us as we come there a lot and we can’t always stay with her. So we will definitely be booking this cottage again if it’s available. It has everything you need to make your stay comfortable. Thank you.

We came in a fiesta which isn’t large at all but still had problems. Driving in to the garage and reversing out did us best. This being said Its amazing to have a garage in a small area like this anyway. We love the garage it’s very helpful. The house is amazing, we had the best time and made lots of memories. It’s light and airy, beautifully decorated too. Comfy sofas for chill days are important which masons cottage provides and a well equipped kitchen for making dinners was so handy. Love it. • "We loved staying in Mason's Cottage."

It's a beautifully presented, comfortable, well equipped and homely property which is really well located just a short walk from all Penzance's amenities, shops, eating places, train station, harbour, coastal walk etc. The owners were on hand to answer any queries we had throughout the stay, which was great. The parking is a major problem however and I feel that it should be pointed out that the garage which is part of the property cannot be accessed with a large car (Nissan XTrail). This meant that we had a daily drama trying to load and unload our beach equipment, paddleboards etc with the car sitting at the side of the cottage with hazard lights on, on the VERY narrow road, before having to drive around unsuccessfully trying to find a parking space where we wouldn't get a ticket, or wouldn't get our car scratched (several neighbours warned us of this). I wouldn't go so far as to say it ruined our holiday, but it would certainly stop us from going back to Mason's Cottage unfortunately, as that kind of daily stress is not what we want on holiday. This should not stop people with small cars from booking however, as everything else was absolutely perfect.

Many thanks for your feedback and it was lovely having continuous communications before and during your stay. With reference to the parking and garage, in Penzance, an old Cornish Port with many narrow lanes. It is very rare to find a central town property with parking, let alone a garage which can accommodate most cars/bikes and watersports equipment combined. We do highlight in the description of the property and our personalised welcome emails, the access to the integral garage is narrow but being the owner of a VW Transporter van we always reverse down this lane to do drop off and pick up. If however people are unable to park in the garage, there is street parking close by which is free. Tickets would only be issued if parking on single or double yellow lines. We also did advise you of the parking situation before you came to Cornwall in various emails. I'm glad this didn't ruin your holiday and we welcome you back to Mason's Cottage at another time. Many thanks for your feedback. Glad you loved the house and location as it is an ideal base for a holiday. Sorry to hear about the issues you had with access to the garage. It is explained at the bottom of the property summary the following: Note: Care to be taken on approach to parking due to narrow lane. We have seen large vehicles park in the garage including my own ie estate cars and range rovers. However will take onboard your comments and add further details. Property Owner

Perfect location for getting to places, just had a struggle getting our big car down the tiny alley way to the garage but still managed with a bit of patience and moving the bins. Very rude neighbour further down the street though

Clean, white walls and hard wooden floors grace the interior along with stylish furnishings throughout.

Immediately climb the stairs to find a bright and airy open-plan living space on the first floor, complete with dining for four people and a well-appointed kitchen area; rustle up hearty meals or beach picnics with the electric oven, gas hob, fridge/freezer and ample storage space.

After a long day exploring the coast, sink into the leather sofas of the sitting area, with a rug for two well-behaved dogs to rest on, whilst you host a movie marathon on the Smart TV.

Follow the stairs down to the lower-ground-floor utility/garage to throw sandy clothes and towels straight into the handy washing machine.

Rinse off in the sleek, second-floor shower room whilst your towel toasts on the heated towel rail, before retiring to one of two well-presented bedrooms.

Catch your rest in the king-size room with a TV for lazy mornings under the covers, whilst the twin room is ideal for either two younger guests or a second couple thanks to the zip/link feature; both bedrooms offer ample storage space for your holiday essentials.

A walker's paradise, Cornwall offers plenty of trails taking guests along dramatic coastlines with tranquil bays and spectacular vistas from the likes of Clodgy Point and Gurnard's Head.

PENZANCE

St Ives 8 miles. Helicopter to Isles of Scilly - 30 minutes

Penzance hosts Golowan, the Midsummer Carnival, and The Literary Festival. There are also The Exchange, Newlyn and Penlee Art Galleries. One of Cornwall’s most popular holiday areas is the spectacular sweep of Mount’s Bay, from the cliffside fishing village of Mousehole through Penzance and around to beautiful Marazion, the coastline hides a wealth of sandy beaches, rocky coves as well as winding village streets and other places to visit and explore. Connected by a causeway to the shore at Marazion is the National Trust’s stunningly beautiful St Michael’s Mount with its hilltop castle and Mediterranean gardens. Walk across at low water and take one of the ferry boats back when the tide is up. Penzance with its winding streets, shops, clubs, restaurants and harbour is a must as it is the jumping-off point for day trips to the Isles of Scilly as well as being the harbor. The South West Coast Path passing through Penzance winds its way along the clifftops towards Land’s End. On the way, stop off for a coffee and a rest at beautiful Lamorna Cove, explore the open air Minack Theatre and marvel at the cliffs as you approach Gwennap Head. A stunning walk for those seeking solitude, exercise and some of the UK’s best coastal scenery. Penzance is the perfect holiday base. Ideally placed for exploring this land of Celtic myth and legend and with enough to do and see in the immediate area to keep all the family occupied.
