  • "Lovely cottage."

It was exactly as described on the website. Beds were very comfortable and everywhere was very clean. We didn’t have any pets, but chose this cottage regardless of it being pet friendly. Unfortunately the smell of dog was very strong as soon as we walked through the front door. Not sure how you can help this but it was a shame. We bought air freshener which we had to keep spaying throughout the week to try and mask the doggy smell. Kitchen could have done with some more cooking utensils but other than that it was lovely. Bathroom was beautiful. Lovely shower with separate bath. Plenty of room. Location was fab, walking distance to the beach, pub and shop. Crantock beach is a must. Absolutely beautiful.

Thank you for your review, we’re glad to hear that you had a great week. Feedback is always welcome & thank you for bringing this to our attention. Please be rest assured that the carpets and soft furnishings are shampooed/washed regularly. We hope that you found the utensil drawer under the hob, which has been labelled. We will double check that this is still present and that all utensils are still there at the next changeover - thank you for bringing this to our attention. We hope to welcome you to Seawynds again soon. Property Owner

We only slept in the back bedroom, and the bed in there was very comfortable. Garden was very secure, we have two dogs who would have found a way out if there was one. Ideally placed for lovely coastal walks with the beach a few minutes away. Everything as described was accurate and we had a fantastic stay, hopefully we will be able to book again in the future.

Thank you so much for taking time to write this fantastic review!! We are so pleased to hear that you had a great stay. Your dogs must have loved the beaches! We look forward to welcoming you back soon. It will be a pleasure to have you back at Seawynds. Property Owner

Positives: close to sea and good beaches, enclosed garden, good dining area and most of required facilities. Great map. Negatives: one sofa needs replacing, no cleaners for toilet, floors, kitchen etc. child gate ( floor bar) a trip hazard ( wife kicked it several times) ouch! Nothing that would prevent us from returning though.

Thank you for your feedback, which we will consider. We’re glad to hear that you had a great stay. Property Owner

  • "This was our second stay at Seawynds and it was another fantastic week."

It is in a great location, walking distance of the glorious beach, village centre and two dog friendly pubs. We particularly love the fact that it has a woodburner and safe, enclosed garden. It is very clean, comfortable and spacious. Crantock is a fabulous, friendly and welcoming village. Lots of fantastic walks on the doorstep with other beautiful locations within driving distance. We would recommend a drive out to Golitha Falls, it's absolutely stunning. We had a slight problem with the hot water but a quick phonecall got it promptly sorted. We've already priced it up for next year. Unfortunately (inline with everything else) the price may be financially beyond us atm but we definitely hope to return one day.

Thank you so much for your review. We’re so glad to hear that you love Crantock as much as we do. Apologies again re the hot water, and thank you for bringing it to our attention so that we could get it resolved ASAP. We were so happy to welcome you back, and hope that we see you again very soon. • "This bungalow is a great place to stay."

A few minutes walk to Crantock village and a 10 min stroll to the beach. Parking for two cars easily. Furniture all looks fairly new and both double bedrooms have the same amount of storage so you don’t have to choose who has the better one. Garden is secure for dogs and a dog bed is supplied. Kitchen has lots of utensils and crockery & 2 ovens. Garden table & bench outside, maybe a couple of deck chairs/sun loungers could be supplied? Will definitely stay here again. Thank you owners for a great bungalow.

Thank you for your comments! We’re so glad to hear that you had a great stay and that you will be returning. We agree, the property is in a fab location in the beautiful village. The sizeable parking area is also a huge benefit. We appreciate your ideas, and will look into additional outdoor seating ahead of next Summer. See you soon! Property Owner

  • "Recently stayed at Seawynds."

Property was very clean.Found the double bed in back bedroom uncomfortable, so didn’t sleep very well.Everything else inside was excellent.Have stayed at Crantock village several times in the past,as it’s such a lovely village. There is vehicle access to side of property, used by vans, tractors, horse trailer and horse riders, so overlooked if in garden or front room. Unfortunately a local on the other side of the property had a springer spaniel kept in an outside kennel and pen that sounded very distressed from 7-30 am in the mornings!.However the dog was quieter when the owner was at home, which wasn’t that much during the week we stayed. We had absolutely fantastic weather .The picnic bench in the garden was great to use, but maybe a couple of sun loungers would be worth considering, especially if weather forecast is good. Also a parasol for the picnic bench. I think curtains would be good too, as not very private.

Hello, Thank you for your comments. We’re glad to hear that you had a good week. We know we’re biased … but crantock is just the best! In response to your comments. We have installed black out blinds in all rooms apart from the conservatory, to aid with privacy (& to ensure that you get a restful nights sleep!) We understand that the dog has recently lost his companion and, just like us humans, is unfortunately grieving. He is however well and healthy. Seawynds is a detached property with no direct neighbours, but it is a small village and there will be comings and goings. We have always found that the high garden walls, surrounding fences and hedges have provided enough privacy for guests. As with most centrally located properties, complete isolation is unfortunately not possible. We had considered loungers but the we believe that most guests would prefer to enjoy our beautiful local beaches in the hot weather, but we will reconsider. Thank you Property Owner

The property is in a fantastic location. Walking distance of the glorious beach, village centre and 3 very welcoming pubs (2 of which are dog friendly). Our favourite is The Old Albion. Seawynds is clean, warm and comfortable. The woodburner was mesmerising and invaluable in the inclement weather. The three bedrooms were all of a good size. The kitchen is large and has everything you need, including a full size fridge/freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. The conservatory is light and airy. The bathroom - just wow! A deep roll top bath and seperate power shower. Candles were provided which made soaking in the bath even more relaxing. The garden is fully enclosed and therefore ideal for dogs. Lovely extra touches like local apple juice and biscuits were provided along with treats for the dogs and milk etc. Check in was easy, the keysafe information was provided ahead of time and there is a driveway for off road parking. We have fallen in love with Crantock and feel that Seawynds is a real jewel. We definitely want to return.

  • "Accommodation is very modern, well proportioned rooms, bathroom and kitchen with a great sized garden and off road parking."

Very quiet during the day and night despite being near road through Crantock. Facilities and items within the bungalow are very good and generally to a high standard, local pubs/restaurants and shop all within walking distance. However we identified a few ideas for improvements: 1. Curtains might be beneficial in the living room and bedrooms, the blinds are great but there's no privacy if you want light during the mornings, plus of an evening and overnight car and neighbouring security lights shine through the blinds. 2. Kitchen is well stocked however missing some essentials including serving spoons, slotted turner, kitchen tongs and collander/sieves.  3. An idea for the owners would be to source a storage box and board games, packs of cards etc - although we managed this would provide an alternative means of entertainment and there is sufficient storage for such idea in the living room.

Thank you for your message and comments. Feedback taken on board. Great idea re the games! Kitchen items were provided (majority within the utensil drawer within the drawer under the hob) but we will check that they are still there. We hope to welcome you back soon! Property Owner
