  • "We absolutely loved our stay at The Dunes."

We couldn’t fault anything with the property or the facilities. Unloading and loading the car was easy around the back of the property. Location being central to the village made it easy to go for food and drink. Brilliant week and hopefully we’ll be back one day

Thank you for such a lovely review. We are really pleased you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

Ideal location for the walk to Crantock beach and straight across from the village shop. Enclosed garden ideal if you have a dog. Everything you need to cater for yourselves. The outdoor shower is perfect for wetsuits and sandy dogs/shoes.

  • "The house was grand, but the parking arrangements were quite off-putting."

We would like to stay at the house again, but not until proper on-site parking is available.

Thank you for comments and we are glad you enjoyed the property. Unforntuantely, due to the property being in a central village location there are limited parking options hence why we provide, free of charge, a permit to park in the village hall. There are no options available to us to provide on-site parking now or in the future. You are able to pull up and unload at both the front and rear of the property. Property Owner

  • "Beautiful property, absolutely spotless and equipped with everything we might need."

Excellent location over the road from the village shop and a short walk to the pubs. We loved the 1st floor living space and the overall floor plan. We are 6 women who travel once a year together and enjoy walking, the housekeepers set up the beds as 6 singles which was great as in other properties we would need to share doubles. Can’t fault it! Thank you!

Thank you for the lovely feedback, we are so happy that you enjoyed your stay! May we take this opportunity to thank you for the excellent condition you left the property in. We hope to welcome you back in the future. Property Owner

  • "Wonderful location and very clean."

The reason why I did not give it five stars is because all the shower heads need cleaning.

Thank you for your feedback and positive comments therein. With regard to the shower heads, this issue has now been addressed. Thanks again Property Owner

Everything you need for a holiday. Lovely garden at the back, idea for a barbeque. Thanks Kim for all the hard work you put in. Excellent location in Crantock village short walk to the beach. Shop across the road, plus a pizza restaurant and two pubs.

Thank you for your lovely feedback, we are so pleased you have enjoyed your holiday. We will pass on your thanks to Kim too. We look forward to welcoming you again in the future. Property Owner

  • "The Dunes is a decent property however I was pretty shocked to be then chased up a few days after returning home to say I owed a further £40 for bringing our dog."

We have been coming for several years and have always enjoyed it, but this has left quite a sour taste. I would obviously have happily paid the extra for the dog, but couldn't find anywhere in my account when trying to modify my booking to add a pet, so I assumed it wasn't an extra cost. To then be called and emailed chasing down the extra £40 was not a great way to treat loyal guests who have recommended this place to several friends.

Thank you for your honest feedback, we were saddened and disappointed to read the comments therein. With regard to your dog and the fee, I understand that Skyes made one phone call and then followed up with an email after being unable to get through. There is a charge per pet due to extra cleaning and time spent when a pet visits. Not everybody (unlike us) are pet lovers and we strive to ensure whether bringing a pet or not, that the property is pet hair and smell free, this takes extra time. On a slightly different note we hope you enjoyed the newly renovated garden, creating a new decking area and furniture to enjoy the cornish sun. We hope that you feel able to return in the future as we value each and every guest. Property Owner

We had quite serious car trouble whilst there so spent considerably more time at the property than we would normally do. So feel like we are best placed to say what a pleasure it was to stay. (and of course the bay was beautiful as always) Thanks you. John & Jackie.

Thank you for such lovely feedback. We are really pleased that despite car trouble you still had a lovely stay! Rachel and Steve Property Owner

Cottage well equipped and very comfortable. Only negative is no parking - permit only provided at village hall from April to September - limited parking (very tight) for two cars at front of property and one car didn’t move for most of stay and quite congested in road at back of property

  • "Lovely comfortable cottage in an ideal location in the centre of the village."

The parking at the village hall was close by so we booked an additional permit for our second car which we thought was good value at £25 for the week. We especially liked the layout of the kitchen and living area which was really spacious. Plenty of hot water on demand for showers and baths.

  • "We have been to Crantock on many occasions stopping in various accommodation, the Dunes was the best so far."

It was very clean comfortable in a great location. The kitchen was well equipped with little touches like tea coffee milk and a lovely cake to get you started. There was even dish washer tablets, which we forgot, washing detergent, dog bowls everything you may need. The bed we used on the bottom floor was very warm and comfortable. The roomy lounge was also comfortable but could do with a larger TV for those rainy days in. The garden was small but adequate with lots of seating areas. On the whole we had a great stay. The village and surrounding area is beautiful. Great for walking, dining at the local pubs, having a coffee at local coffee shop, buying essential from shop across the road, catching bus to Newquay which stops less than 2 mins walk away. We would definitely book again.

  • "Our 5th time at this Lovely Cottage!"

Fantastic location and lovely property, perfect for a large or extended family. A convenient 5 minute walk to the beach. Pub and shop were a 2 minute walk which was very handy. Bus stop into Newquay 100 yards from cottage door 1 x double bedroom and bathroom on Attic Floor and 1 x double bedroom and bathroom on Ground Floor with the Lounge and Kitchen in the Middle. This makes it absolutely perfect for extended family and friends to enjoy complete privacy. Back in October with my elderly parents. Thank you

Very clean, comfortable accommodation, comfy beds and plenty of space. The only (minor) downside is that there is no parking immediately outside the cottage, although this is available at the village hall car park (permit provided) about 3 mins walk away. Not ideal as we had a baby with us, but the shop is only 40 paces away and does very good pasties! Would highly recommend the cottage.

About the location

CRANTOCK

Newquay 4.5 miles.

Crantock is a small Cornish village, just a short walk from the beach, close to the popular resort of Newquay. If you want to escape the crowds, yet still be close to the action, this is the place to be. There's stunning countryside all around and lots of pretty villages to explore; however, it is the coast that dominates. Enjoy superb walks along the coastal path over dramatic cliff-tops, or magnificent surfing on beaches stretching from Watergate Bay in the North to Fistral beach in the centre of Newquay and on down the coast. There are a number of golf courses in the area, as well as National Trust properties, traditional pubs and outstanding restaurants. Newquay itself is a visitor's paradise with a wide variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, plus attractions such as the Sea Life Centre, Newquay Zoo and nearby Dairyland and Eden Project.
