  • "We loved our stay at mordros lodge."

Just a few things missing that would of made the stay perfect for us. It has a hot tub which we used nearly every night and was cleaned/maintained by staff onsite everyday. Dressing gowns for use of the hot tub would have been a nice touch instead of using the lodge towels but then we had a washing machine so we could wash bits throughout the week if needed. As we were getting ready for the first day out exploring Cornwall we noticed there was no iron so made do without but my partner caught a member of staff cleaning the hot tub so mentioned not having an iron and he said it's due to insurances they don't leave them in the lodge but they have them at reception. The lodge was very clean and had everything we needed. Beds were very comfy. The site is very small and quiet which was lovely after along day of exploring Cornwall. You can see the beautiful sunrise from the decking area. There is a lovely little convenience store around the corner which we used a couple of times. Very handy for emergency supplies; Fruit, veg, dairy items, lots of tinned/jar cupboard items, some freezer items, alcohol, newspaper/magazines... This is our 3rd time visiting Cornwall and loved it every time. We will return

  • "We had a fantastic stay at Mordros Lodge."

Location wise it was perfect as a central location for trips out to explore Cornwall. Such a warm welcome on arrival with lots of thoughtful touches (milk in the fridge, chocolates & Prosecco, teabags, coffee, sugar & biscuits, washing up liquid, sponge & dishwasher tablets) The decor was beautiful & everywhere was very clean. The hot tub water was checked daily & was a lovely addition to relax in. Overall a fantastic holiday.

  • "Fantastic week here at st day."

The lodge is beautiful and decorated to a high standard. Everything you needed. Was clean, comfortable and in a great location to explore Cornwall. Decking area is fantastic, big clean space, no shaded areas when sun was out, so maybe bring portable sun shade if you require. But We loved it :-) Thank you to Nathan who was the perfect host and always there to help with anything. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend. Thank you :-)

  • "We had such a great stay at Modros lodge."

We loved the styling of the place and found the beds and sofas very comfortable. The location was great for exploring the north and south coasts of Cornwall. The smart TVs were great too and we found it very well appointed. The deck area was great for morning breakfasts outside and the hot tub was a real treat in the evenings after a busy day exploring.

About the location

ST DAY

Porthtowan 5 miles; Portreath 6 miles; Truro 7 miles; St Ives 20 miles; Falmouth 10 miles.

St Day was originally named after the little known Saint Day or Dye (better known in Brittany). The village now has a pub and convenience store, as well as a granite, gothic-style church dating back to 1828. Six miles away is the popular village of Portreath which attracts visitors from around the world with its wild and rugged coastline. High cliffs, secluded coves and sandy, surf-washed beaches typify the area while all around are reminders of the area's rich industrial heritage. Portreath offers a small fishing harbour, shops, a number of pubs, three cafés and a Chinese takeaway, while its safe, sheltered sandy beach is a popular attraction. For a great day out, visit the cathedral city of Truro with its cobbled streets, shopping centre, theatre, museum and great restaurants, just 7 miles away, or travel a few miles along the coast to Gwithian and follow the vast expanse of sandy beach, which leads down to Hayle and on to St Ives. A delightful holiday location.
