  • "I think this is one of the best properties in Trebetheric for living space and position and views."

The boiler kept cutting out and needing reigniting. I reported it but I don’t think anyone attended or remedied the fault

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed all that Splits has to offer, and its surroundings. However, we apologise for any inconvenience caused by the boiler issue that you encountered during your stay. This has since been fixed and a new boiler has been fitted. We hope to welcome you back again in the future - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "This property has a superb location but was not well cleaned and information was not accurate we asked before we went if there was a barbeque and told no but could bring one which we did but when we arrived found large gas barbeque."

Description bed sizes not correct bunk beds double - matters when have to provide own linen. A shame had to provide own linen and we had two weeks and had to have a change over which was inconvenient. Clearer information re refuse and recycling be welcome too. Having said that the property was truly a home from home but in the most spectacular location and would definitely re book if can get a free slot! John Bray know all the local properties in this area and are a pleasure to deal with such a shame they have handed over to Sykes who are clueless and too large.

Thank you for your comments, we apologise for the confusion about the BBQ. Information books are going into all the properties with hopefully all the details needed for a pleasant stay. I will look into the confusion with bed sizes and get it corrected. I hope we can welcome you back again soon. John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner Property Owner

  • "Inaccurate listing: the bottom bunk beds have changed size and are now small doubles but this was not on the online info."

We had to dash back to Atlantic Laundry to change the undersheets so they fitted. They were very nice about it. Otherwise all perfect.

Access road was difficult to drive on. Bedrooms needed sweeping, one bedroom had pair of socks under a bed and another a tennis ball. One bathroom had cobwebs and bath not clean. Outside chairs ound the table extremely comfortable.

  • "We had a lovely holiday and enjoyed the quality of everything."

We did find that the tumble dryers didn't work particularly well and of course the main fridge in the kitchen didn't work nor did the ice maker. There were no batteries in the scale which was neither here nor there (just an observation) I understand why the road is so terrible but I have to say, my car really struggled, which made "popping" to the shops a no-no but you have a very beautiful place and I wish it was mine. Thank you x Penny Anderson (for John Savory)

Thank you very much for your feedback on Splits, and that you enjoyed your holiday. We will be sure to look into all the issues you have mentioned regarding the property. We hope you return again soon! Property Owner

  • "A beautiful property that has everything you would need to cater for, and entertain in style, a large family group."

It was just the two of us so we didn’t get to use its full potential but we loved every minute. Beautiful views and always a changing scene at the mouth of the tidal estuary. Also perfectly situated for the sunsets. Ideally located between Daymer Bay and Polzeath, we had lots of walking options and then an unbelievable choice of settees and views when we got back home for a rest.

The property

Splits is a striking, detached property, set over five levels with reversed accommodation, to take advantage of the magnificent views across the mouth of the Camel estuary and Atlantic beyond.

Accessed via a pretty, unmade lane, with coastal footpaths nearby leading down to Greenaway and Daymer Bay, Splits can accommodate ten guests over five bedrooms, making it ideal for an extended family getaway to Cornwall.

There is a large, sunny front lawn and ample parking, and a private balcony, perfect for enjoying family meals from, with uninterrupted views of the stunning sunsets.

The well-appointed bedrooms and five bathrooms make Splits a luxurious place to stay on the North Cornwall coast, whilst the living areas all benefit from lots of glass windows and sensational, sea views.

On cooler days there are plenty of plush sofas to curl up with a book in front of a roaring fire, whilst hours can be spent just watching the tides and ever-changing seascape outside the windows, while children and teenagers can lounge in front of the TV in the family room.

From your vantage point above the Camel estuary, you can plan your days to include walks direct from your doorstep, or hop in the car to nearby Polzeath for an afternoon of surfing.

A drive in the opposite direction will bring you to Rock with all its sailing, boat trips and waterskiing, and for those who prefer not to get wet, the fabulous St Enodoc golf course.

The Black Tor ferry runs regularly across the estuary to Padstow, which is host to Rick Stein's famous seafood restaurant, and a wide selection of waterfront shops and eateries.

The thriving market town of Wadebridge is only a 6-mile drive away, perfect for shopping and for hiring bicycles to explore the Camel trail.

All of this can be experienced with a stay at Splits.

About the location

DAYMER BAY

Polzeath 1.3 miles; Rock 2.3 miles.

Daymer Bay and the village of Trebetherick were both loved by Sir John Betjeman and are unquestionably special. With a huge appeal to both the young and not so young, Daymer Bay has recently been voted one of the best beaches in the world! St. Enodoc Church, once buried in the sand, is within comfortable walking distance of Daymer Bay and is the resting place of Sir John Betjeman. Daymer Bay holds great appeal for wind surfers, kite surfers and paddle boarders, with the gentle waves rolling up the estuary. There is enormous fun too for small children with buckets and spades and fishing in the rock pools. At low tide you can walk across the sand to the village of Rock to indulge in a spot of retail therapy or a bite to eat at one of the many delicious eateries, or catch the short ferry ride and explore the delights of Padstow. Up from the coast path as it runs from Daymer Bay is Highcliffe, nestling between Polzeath and Trebetherick, both of which boast a number of pubs, restaurants and village stores all offering a wide variety of fresh quality produce. The properties at Highcliffe have the advantage of being within easy reach of Daymer, Polzeath and Greenaway - Greenaway being the name given to the clifftop area, beach and small cove with rock pools overlooking the Atlantic beyond that lies between Daymer and Polzeath.

Please remember to bring your own beach towels with you, as these are not supplied.
