  • "Beautifully renovated property with character & such a homely feel it really felt like we were living there."

Stunning location at the foot of the harbour & we were soooo lucky with the weather during our early October stay. Enjoyed coastal walks to nearby Carlyon Bay & Porthpean and of all the excellent local eateries, the Springtide restaurant was possibly our favourite (delicious mussels from the Bay). For the first time ever, we actually both cried at the end of our week when it was time to come home! Will definitely be back!

  • "Lovely place with good facilities and cleanliness."

Could see the sea from the bed room and lounge windows. Very good location near all shops and restaurants. There were games and CDs for entertainment and a Xbox. Shower was excellent pressure. Garden although lovely has no privacy. The only thing that spoilt it was the neighbours to the right left their dog in the house in the evening around 6ish when they went out and it barked and cried continuously until they returned around 9.30ish. We would most definitely return to stay in the property if we were visiting again.

Hi Navaz, Thank you for your lovely review of the cottage. I’m very sorry you were disturbed by a dog and inconsiderate neighbours next door. Thankfully this has not happened before. The holiday letting company and owners of that property have been informed and hopefully they are not allowed to stay again. We so hope to see you again! Property Owner

  • "Absolutely loved your beautiful property."

The position and parking excellent. The home is wonderfully furnished and the decor gorgeous. Sofas really comfortable and beds (apart from the single ) really comfortable. Bedding is quality and really comfortable. Suggest that you have somewhere to hang coats and a smaller towel suppled to dry hair but otherwise your property is fabulous.

Hi Sylvia, Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. I take on board your comment re the towels. Regarding hanging coats there is a multi coat hanger on the back of the door in the downstairs cloakroom. We felt it was tidier that way rather than being on display in the living room. All the best, Sarah Property Owner

  • "Our second year (same week) and will no doubt be back again!"

Perfect location, the house has a fantastic sun trap outside space and great layout inside. Everything you need for cooking. Outside and inside dining areas. Great views too.

So pleased to hear you enjoyed your second stay and the Cornish sunshine Debbie! We’d love to see you back again. All the best, Sarah Property Owner

  • "Beautifully decorated, extremely comfortable (especially the sofas), and perfectly situated cottage."

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily rebook. So many eateries to choose from (the ice cream parlour at the end of the garden a little TOO convenient!). Two beaches a short walk away. Minor points… the pub behind is noisy till late (heard from back bedroom only). The beds are really comfortable but very low.

  • "We had a fantastic stay at 5 The Old Smokehouse."

The location couldn’t be better, waking up every morning with a view of the sea and Charlestown harbour. We stayed for 2 weeks and the house had all the facilities we needed. The house is really close to some great beaches and the Eden project. We had a toddler with us so the small garden was really handy. Having an ice cream shop pretty much at the bottom of the garden was also a real treat.

Hi Rachel, Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay and felt you had everything you needed at the cottage. We love the ice cream shop too! All the best, Sarah Property Owner

  • "Lovely comfortable, clean cottage with great views and close to all of the eateries."

There is one thing that would benefit this place and that is a full length mirror positioned somewhere. We like to stay in Charlestown at Christmas, however our son and daughter have one dog each. Is there any flexibility on the one dog rule.

Hi Karen, thank you so much for the mirror suggestion! We have installed two full length mirrors since your stay. All the best, Sarah Property Owner
