Great location. Fell in love with the rocking chair. Where did you get it from?

I felt the amount of steps up to the property could have more accurate in the description, we knew there was some but than expected didn’t like the bin being in the back garden and having to take rubbish through the bedroom it was the only flat with no numbered bin location at the front

  • "Great location in the town."

Everything you need and very comfortable especially the bed. The outdoor space is such a bonus with a good view of the river and harbour. I would recommend this apartment.

  • "Great apartment, everything you need and a fantastic view."

Only downside was the lack of parking but we found some easily enough nearby.

  • "The only selling point to this property is of course the view and location."

Although the property looks good inside on first appearance, there were many unsatisfactory issues. The double bed was very uncomfortable it dips right down in the middle and makes a loud cracking noise when you get out sounding and feeling like the frame is broken (left with a bad back!) we had to clean round the property before settling in as the cleanliness was extremely poor. The bedrooms (both) smelt musty and damp, we couldn't use any of the storage - wardrobes and drawers as they smelt extremely damp/musty. The towels supplied for use were rock hard and smelly/musty. The patio doors from the main bedroom led to a disgustingly dirty courtyard which was unusable, which should be regularly cleaned. The front outside seating area was not practical as too much furniture in such a small area; also the seating cushions were left out/on so were wet/damp. We couldn't regulate the hot water in the shower; therefore got scolded more than once! There was no manual or information with regards to anything in the cottage ie how to use the heating system, how to dispose of rubbish etc and the bins allocated to the flat were all locked, we therefore put most of our rubbish into the local public bins on our way out.

  • "We had a really nice time at this apartment, everyone in this building is really friendly."

The property itself is spacious and has everything you need for a nice holiday. Good Internet, spacious inside and outside on the balcony, modern decor, good smart TV in the lounge, comfy seating and beds, lots of storage, kitchen with everything you need including a large fridge freezer and washing machine. The check in and information was easy too which really makes a difference when you have traveled 7 hours in a car! We will hopefully book this place again next year, we had such a nice time.

  • "We really enjoyed the property, a great location overlooking the river and the apartment was comfortable."

We had a couple of great evenings at The Jolly Sailor Inn, food/atmosphere/entertainment, all great. There are comments about parking at the property…we parked across the river in a long stay car park, about £2.50/day, just minutes away.

  • "Fantastic property and very well situated."

Had everything you could possibly need and the best view you could ask for while doing the washing up! Also the shower is amazing.

  • "Great location."

All we needed. Couldn't close the blind on the lounge window which would have been nice for privacy in the night.

  • "The property is very nice and well equipped and has lovely views."

The parking can be an issue and should be mentioned in the information. Parking outside is one hour and the car park opposite is only 3 hours with no return. We solved problem by parking in the one in West Looe which is 7 minutes on foot , is 24 hours for £2.50!

So much to do, explore and delicious places to try especially very family friendly golden guinea, daisy cafe and bassetts ice cream palour. The beach was brilliant with excellent toilet block and busy harbor, cannot wait to come back!

  • "Holiday cottage itself was clean and very well equipped."

However, during the stay my dog became unwell after getting a foreign body stuck in his paw. 2 vet trips and a day in surgery at the vets meant 3 days were spent inside the cottage unable to leave. Upon closer inspection of the patio area we found several pieces of glass that had not been cleared up. This was likely to have caused the injury to my dog and left us with unexpected veterinary costs.

  • "Instructions given to property take you to rear of building, when access to flat is from the front, and key safe is at the front which was confusing when we arrived."

Plus the lanes given are very narrow and were impassable given local work. Flat bin was full on arrival and didn't get emptied all week which made it difficult to dispose of rubbish. Very surprised there were no recycling facilities at property or in the vicinity.

About the location

LOOE

Polperro 5 miles.

Looe is Cornwall’s second largest fishing port and hence there is always a lively maritime bustle around the quay area of East Looe, which is connected to the quieter West Looe by a seven arched 19th century bridge over the River Looe. You can also catch the river taxi between East and West Looe. East Looe has narrow cobbled streets, twisting alleyways and plenty of tourist shops, whilst West Looe has a lovely outlook across the harbour. Looe’s viewpoint, Banjo Pier, can be reached from the quay and is a great spot to watch the returning fishing trawlers and look across the bay to Looe Island, which can be walked to occasionally at very low tides. The sandy Looe beach adjoins the pier and is very popular with families because of its safe shallow swimming and vast expanse of sand. There is also a great rock pool area at Hannafore that children will love. West Looe has a Heritage Centre that recently opened in the Old Sardine Factory with a climbing wall and a cafe and the delightful Kilminorth Woods have way marked walks through the majestic oak wood, rich in plant, insect and bird life. Apart from beach activities in this part of south east Cornwall, there are many mining remains on Bodmin Moor and in the Tamar Valley and much of the mining landscape has World Heritage status. This area of Cornwall has inspired writers, such as Daphne du Maurier and much of Bodmin Moor has inspired legends linked with King Arthur. There is much to explore in this beautiful part of Cornwall.
