  • "The property is a typical 'traditional' cottage, its has everything you need for your stay."

Cozy size lounge, plenty of seating, although the sofa's, for us, were uncomfortable, good size kitchen / dinner, shower room (downstairs), bathroom (upstairs), 3 good size bedrooms (2 x dbl, 1 bunkbeds). The access to upstairs is by very narrow stairway. It has garden access with seating, which given the right weather is great! Its very close to center of Falmouth, close to bars, shops, public transport and harbour.

  • "Good location for walking into town, scones were a nice touch."

Difficult to unload as parking up outside is near impossible, we had to park at the end of the street and carry our luggage up steps to cottage, parking is provided but a couple of streets away. It was quite noisy 2 out of the 3 nights we stayed with talking and music from houses around the back into the early hours. My main gripe was the dog poop that was left in the back garden that I had to pick, that to me is not acceptable!

  • "Tops'l Cottage is a beautiful place to stay."

A very clean, comfortable and welcoming place to visit. When we arrived we found a little gift of scones with jam and cream for us in the kitchen. Adding to the overall feeling that the owners were trying to make us feel at home. They succeeded! The beds are comfortable, the kitchen has everything we need, the bathroom and shower were spotless and the garden is a lovely place to sit and relax. It is a cottage I would highly recommend, all for a very good price for the week. Ok, so parking is not allowed outside the property but there are no complaints about the 2 minute walk to the car. All this and it's just a stones throw from Falmouth high street and harbour. Overall, I can't fault it!

There were 5 adults and 1 dog which was about right for the size of the cottage. The parking was great only a 2 minute walk away in a safe area. The cottage was very clean and the scones and jam were a lovely welcoming touch. We love Falmouth and would stay here again.

Parking is less than 1 minute walk. Stayed here with a family of four adults and two pre-teens, did not find it small and we all fit comfortably at the dining table and in the living room. Lovely garden. The mattresses and pillows were extremely comfortable. Will definitely stay here again. Thank you!

The cottage was lovely and clean when we arrived and the scones, cream, jam, tea and, milk were a welcome treat after a very long journey, so thank you. Generally we were happy with our stay, but were disappointed with the beds and feel the mattress’ need replacing as they weren’t comfortable. Also the bed frame in the back bedroom didn’t feel stable and I kept catching myself on the frame and have a nasty bruise on my thigh as a result.

  • "The location is good and car parking a bonus."

The cottage is generally well presented but really only suitable for four people. The sitting room is disappointing, mainly because of the additional furniture required for six people which makes it very cramped. The bathrooms are very clean and the kitchen well equipped. The scones were very nice but don’t really constitute a welcome pack with a few tea bags and coffee sachets and no dog biscuits! Loads of tourist information but most is out of date, good WiFi

Thank you for the milk, scones and doggy biscuits! It was really clean and fine for just the two of us plus dog. So, overall v positive. Only couple of things: I think it would be too small for 6 people, loo seat downstairs wobbly, pillows un comfy (personal preference though). Loved the garden too and thank you for our stay

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback and for your lovely comments. We are pleased your enjoyed the cottage and location. We will purchase some new pillows and will arrange for the toilet seat to be tightened. We hope very much to welcome you back to the property in the not too distant future. Property Owner

We were 3 generations with a dog and had enough space for all of us. The walk down to the town / harbour was quite steep so wouldn't be suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Loads of eating places within short walking distance and good base to discover more of Cornwall. Property was well equipped and parking was a bonus. We were also blessed with fab weather.

  • "Well ..."

you could walk the streets of Falmouth for hours and not find a better location for a holiday cottage. This cottage was tucked up in a quiet street with partial views over the harbour, and by walking to the end of the row of cottages a full panoramic view of the harbour is achieved. Set high up on the hill, it's perhaps not ideal for those with impaired mobility, but brilliant for most reasonably active people. Falmouth was a revelation to us, with a wide range of shops, many of which were independently owned. Yes, there are touristy souvenir type gift shops, but nothing overly tacky. They actually seem to sell things you'd quite like to buy. The town and harbour is also very clean and tidy, and the seagull population seemed well controlled. A big plus for Falmouth is the total lack of seaside type amusement arcades. Another big plus was the dog friendly nature of many of the pubs and restaurants. As to the cottage itself, it was an ideal size for 4 adults. It was very well equipped with all the things you'd expect and everything worked well. In particular, the cleanliness of all crockery and kitchen utensils was exemplary ... an important point for people like us who 'eat in' on most nights. The cream tea supplied on our arrival was also very much appreciated. Rubbish collection was a bit confusing and we're not sure if we got that right. Also, the cold tap in the downstairs bathroom doesn't close off properly and may need replacing. But these are minor quibbles. And don't detract from a 5 star rating for this accomodation. Highly recommended.

  • "A delightful cottage, beautifully situated for central amenities."

The garden was excellent too, although we had to barricade the upper section because Maeve was determined something interesting lived under the shed! The kitchen was well equipped, although a smaller saucepan or two would have been welcome and one or two sharper knives (despite the sharpener). Some notes on the hob would also have been welcome as we feel that we were not using it as efficiently as we could and the welcome pack did not contain an explanation that we could see.

We were 4 in accommodation for 6 and toyed with the idea of inviting another couple. Thank goodness we didn’t, it would have been an uncomfortable squeeze for all but the shortest of stays. The neighbours were noise, occasional stink of weed, and with lots of aggressive shouting someone’s til 3am. There were 2 disturbances in the street and on one occasion as we parked we found an unconscious drunk laid waste near the house. We had to get the pub to help check him over and encourage him home. The parking was a walk from the properly in a scruffy back alley, so we had to ensure nothing was left in the car. Although a reserved discs and not far from the house it maid the ferrying of kids and kit a bit of a chore- not what I would expect for the price. I also wouldn’t recommend the property fir family still using prams or heavily reliant on pushchairs.

Very clean and homely with everything you need in the cottage. I know in a previous comment it said about the noise. There was a little on a couple of nights I think from the pub just up the road but this is minimal and did not spoil the holiday at all. Yes it has 6 beds but not enough room in the lounge or kitchen for 6, unless it was 2 adults and 2 small children. Garden is very pretty but again small, not enough room for my dog to run. Location like all accommodations in Falmouth is up very steep steps or hills, so definitely not suitable for the elderly or disabled. Although the student house 2 doors away went silent before 2am, they were very noisy till then partying in their garden. The house was fresh clean and spotless with everything your own home would have. The pub 3 doors away did great food. The place is in a great location, only a 6 min stroll down hill to the high street and marina.

  • "Great cottage, lovely and homely."

Great location, close to all the amenities and the pub nearby is a gem. The only advice I would give is to provide a better hoover, as the one on offer didn't have suction at all and in a house that gets a lot of sand, you definitely need an efficient hoover! Also I would change/wash the lace curtains, they looked a bit worn and sad. But these are minor details, overall we loved the house and would definitely recommend it and stay there again.

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback. We are glad that you loved the cottage and its location. Falmouth is a great place with lots to see and do. Lots of different routes down various steps to get to each part of the town. The kitchen was equipped with everything you could wish for and there was a lovely welcoming gift of fresh flowers and yummy fresh scones with the trimmings. The cottage is sweet, what you’d expect from a Cornish cottage and the garden is lovely and a nice bonus. Pub next door was good, not too noisy and staff were friendly. Things we would change - the footstool and the rug in the living room were a bit dirty and smelt quiet heavily of dogs. We have a young baby so the option of having baby gates, especially upstairs, would have been good. The curtains in the front bedrooms were quite thin and there is a streetlight right outside so it was a bit bright in the bedrooms. The bedding itself was comfortable but felt a bit low quality. Things we loved - the location was so handy, the decorations were lovely, lots of games and books and DVDs, handy to have two bathrooms, parking was good even though it wasn’t right outside the house, lovely views of Falmouth harbour especially at night.

I feel the distance of the permit spaces need to be detailed more accurately, especiallyas we were travelingwith a child and our 72 year old Mother. When staying for 1 week it is simply not possible to park where the permits are for and unpack luggage or belongings as the parking is up a steep hill and steps approx 3 min walk. Unloading outside the cottage is an absolute nightmare also. On entry to the property it is nice and welcoming. We visited as four adults and one child. we found the sitting room could not comfortably seat all of us. My son sat on the floor. Also a massive lack of cushions or comfortable seats. The table in the kitchen was ridiculous. To expect us all to fit around was impossible. The cottage may sleep 6 but it can't fit 6 around the table or in the lounge. The kitchen is very well equipped as are the bathrooms. The outdoor space needs tlc. Bbq was dirty Lots of weeds. Had to go hunting for recycling tubs and bins. The listing advertised a long burning stove that we were so excited about. we were deeply upset to find no wood at all left to use the stove, especially considering we were staying in October!. Severe lack of storage upstairs. Needs more hangers. No full length mirror. No dressing tables Dvd player not working Games had missing parts Floors not clean Curtains very thin Cottage was good location for town and restaurants. We could not recommend. We tried calling twice to make complaints and ask questions but nobody answered our calls

Thank you for your comments which have been discussed with the owners. As the property is based in the middle of Falmouth, it's not possible to be able to park outside the property. The owners pay for the property to be able to have its own private parking space, which is behind the house, less than a minutes' walk. The cushions from the sofas have been removed in line with Covid-19 guidance. The owners have said that they will look into getting a slightly larger table, to provide more space, there are six chairs provided. A gardener looks after the garden, the owners have been to check and are very pleased with how it's looking. A starter pack of logs for the wood burning stove is provided from October through to February. More hangers will also be provided. Although not full-length, there are plenty of mirrors in the property. The DVD player which was only a year old has now been replaced. The floors were painted earlier in the year. Property Owner
