  • "Great place as usual, but had fall down shops steps, therefore making going in and out to balcony was more difficult, as 3 little steps bit unsteady."

Also a grab rail in shower and bath be good and none slip bath and shower mat. Always clean is usual, and bed comfortable. Sadly after 3days myself and son had dreadful chest infection. Dialled 111 ,took them 2 days, but sent out a great Dr, who issued antibiotics. May have helped a bit, but still coughing since being home and my son had dreadful asthma too. Booked for next year 4weeks again and all being well ,will be more energy. Did I say I fell down steps at shops, making some things more difficult . Like steps in and out onto balcony. Still drips, but no problem at all. Am happy with the awning as well, as you can sit out in rain, which I like. Only shower rail and bath rail be good as struggling with my back injury from long ago..Also none slip mats in both be good. Hopefully be well next year all seems so long ,but come around quickly .

We are sorry to hear of your fall on the local shop steps which hindered your access to the balcony at Toby's Quay, we are delighted that you enjoyed the outside area when you were able to get out onto the balcony (even if it was raining!) and hope that you have now made a full recovery. A shower mat is normally provided at the property, we will of course ensure there is one for your next visit. We look forward to seeing you next year. Property Owner

Very clean with all you wanted. The steps going up to the high street were a good work out each morning. The garage parking was very welcome. The only issues were a leaking electric kettle which was sorted ver quickly, but the sofas could do with being replaced as very difficult to get out of . But those issues apart we would recommend it.

  • "Lovely apartment, fully equipped with everything you need."

Some maintenance issues but do not affect the functionality of the property. If anything, I would suggest an air fryer…it would cut down on the use of the oven. The location is ideal, walkable into town and with many places to visit within an hours drive. The views from the apartment are spectacular and mesmerising . The tea/coffee milk and cleaning welcome pack were appreciated. My only real criticism is that the check in time of not before 5pm is excessively late.

  • "We had a lovely stay here but there were a few things that if sorted would make it better."

    - despite it being mentioned in many reviews the sofas are old, worn and difficult to get out of. Please update. - again mentioned before, the kitchen tap dripped and the handles were loose. - we only had one day of rain, but the ceiling of the balcony leaked dramatically with water dripping through the light fittings. I have a video showing this if required. - the balcony furniture also mentioned previously is old and wooden, stained not very comfy. It really needs modernisation. - there were no outside cushions for the balcony furniture, we had to buy some, disappointing.

Sykes offered £100 compensation for this, which we took as we didnt have time to do anything else. Unfortunately thie balcony was not usuable due to workman working with sanders, drills etc and dust all in full view of our accommdation, hardly a relaxing holiday! We left on the tuesday 4 days early due to the very uncomfortable experience. What did contact Sykes when we got home and they were not helpful at all and could only suggest we go to a 3rd party. We have had no response to our last communication which they have received

Kylie is very helpful, re t.v. Although she managed to connect to internet, it was not possible to put in my Netflix, Disney etc, which I pay for. The person prior to me,had written the dinning seat covers needed new. As I have several chronic illnesses and injury ongoing, it is ideal for me to sit on balcony and watch the sea and boats. Sadly as previously the outside furniture is very poor, and still broken with a poor bit of metal, still wobbly arms, and badly stained wood table. I realise you have an ongoing roof problem, needs some expert sealing and under guttering to stop drips. It would be great to see new outside furniture, that you can wipe down to dry. I don't mind sitting in rain a bit,as at home I spend much time bed bound. My son lives on his boat in Mylor harbour, and after work we spend great time together. I booked for next year some while ago for 4 weeks again end season. Love the place, just the bits mended be good. Thanks Sylvia Batho

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad Kylie was able to help with the Wi-Fi, everything was left in good working order, as mentioned prior, the dining chairs have been re-covered. The outside furniture has since been repaired - thank you for bringing this to our attention. We have had work done on the outside cladding on the balcony, which has worked to a certain extent although we still get the odd drip - this is something we are aware of and dealing with. We are happy to hear you love Toby's Quay and look forward to your next visit! Property Owner

The tv remote did not work and instructions seemed out of date. The veranda , although lovely , has constant drips from above which makes it virtually unusable and very slippery . Even though we had some sunny , warm and windy weather , it never dried. I guess the problem relates to the property above so could be tricky to resolve. One more thing was the mattress protectors which kept coming off and had a plastic type backing which was very sweaty ! To summarise, a lovely property in a great location but needs some attention to justify the price paid.

The views are fantastic and it is so easy to walk into Falmouth and explore many places nearby. The cottage is well equipped with everything one needs for a great holiday and the cleaning managers are great. The only thing we felt was missing was a dining table height chair, preferably with arms. The reason for this is that the sofas were very comfortable but also very low which was difficult for someone with a bad back or stiff from exploring! Third holiday here. The balcony roof leaks & drips so you can't sit on the balcony until it's completely dry. The patio furniture needs to be updated as one chair has a broken arm. Both these issues were raised 2 years ago! The window sill in the twin room falls off as not attached. The ensuite shower leaks from the rusted pipe it sprays out in opposite direction. Appreciate new carpet and fresh paint (although you can see where it's been touched up) very clean, ample equipment. Stunning views and location. Just needs added attention to detail. Would still stay there again.

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback. We are very pleased to hear that you enjoyed your holiday, it is fantastic location with stunning views. The balcony roof belongs to the bottom of the balcony of the apartment above, the owners do seal the underside of the above balcony annually and are looking into ways it might be possible to reduce any dripping. The patio chair has been repaired, it was just a loose bolt, due to the furniture being moved around. The windowsill in the twin bedroom has been fixed and the shower pipe has been replaced. We do hope to welcome you back to the apartment in the not-too-distant future. Property Owner

5 minute walk to a small supermarket or 3 minute drive to a large one. We got engaged on the veranda so we will always have fond memories of this place. On the whole I found the flat adequate for us, being the beginning of April it's a quarter of the price of August. If I had to be picky, there isn't enough pantry space for food that doesn't require refrigerating, under the TV is dusty and yes there's still mold (guests should keep extractor fans on for longer) in the bathrooms. One other daunting experience is walking to the front door, there isn't a railing and it's a drop into the bay. We didn't mind this, for it added to the appeal of the holiday and character of the building The flat is comfortable and warm, plus waking up and walking to the living room and seeing the sun shine through the veranda double doors is breath taking. Would I use this place again? YES,

It was a disappointment to have to hoover and dust the flat after travelling for almost 8 hours and 400 miles. Also some of the utensils and crockery were very dirty and had food stains and rust on them! We had to clean everything that we needed before we used them, which one should not have to do after spending over £700 for a weeks stay. Some of the utensils were useless; the knives were so blunt they were redundant (we had to purchase are own), the wooden chopping board was broken and had a big split in it, and the weighing scales didn't have a battery so we couldn't use it. The silicone around the bath and shower had black mould starting to grow. Generally speaking, the apartment seemed a bit tired and would benefit from being redecorated throughout. Good location but seriously lacking in attention to detail. Definitely will not be staying in Toby's Quay's again and unfortunately would not recommend it!

A welcome pack which I believe had been a nice idea in the past in this property-read the visitors book- was not welcoming us so guess it was a missed trick. We had been travailing for a month and staying ant many different places since leaving France and luckily had some extra bedding to add to main bedroom. I brought in my husbands wheelchair so he had a higher chair to sit in, and get out of, apart from these 'bits' I guess I should have asked...but who? We did love the place and the one man who spurred me on to 'hurry-up' when loading my husband into the car (under 5 minutes) and collect my brother -also a bit slow- was easily dealt with by my pointing out we did in-fact have a little time left on time- card. I loved the place but was a bit stressed out by not being able to talk to Sykes.
