  • "The process of booking and enquiring about this property was not satisfactory."

There was no link to the people running the house and no one could tell me about what was in the house ie bath mat, hairdryer, shower gel. There was a tiny travel hair dryer which was not ideal. There was no available feedback from previous guests. The washing machine door was broken and a maintenance man came quickly but the machine was then unworkable and I was offered no compensation nor apology. We liked the property itself and furniture and we are a very positive lovely family, so we made the most of our stay and keeping everything in good order.

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback. We are very sorry to hear of the issues you encountered, please accept our apologies. The hairdryer is a small hairdryer but not a travel hairdryer. Not all of our properties have a visitors book. The handyman who attended reported a fault with the washing machine but unfortunately a part had to be ordered and he had to wait for that before he could fix the washing machine. We are glad to hear that you liked the property Property Owner

  • "For the two of us with one car it was fine, no alternative if more than one car was required for parking."

There were a number of items in the kitchen draws and cupboards that could be removed, old and not required. The 3 cutlery draws needed a good clear out, also the cupboard to the left of the cooker with the flasks in. The oven trays were dirty and took a bit of time to give them a clean before we used them as was the inside of the oven. In the laundry room adjacent to the back door there were a few items that were broken and seem to have been discarded by previous occupants. Though this seems like a negative review both myself and my wife had a great time and none of the offore mentioned issues spoilt what was a wonderful holiday in a wonderful cottage.

  • "We love this cottage!"

It’s really become a home from home. Clean and smells lovely. The kids love the games and jigsaws and we all enjoy curling up with a book in the living room. The drying area is a god send! Cooker is a little tricky to use as the numbers have been cleaned off and could do with replacing. We have already booked for next year!

Thank you for your feedback and letting us know about the oven dials, we will look into this. We are glad to hear you enjoyed your stay and have booked again. Property Owner

  • "Only concerns were parking, neighbours not very helpful parking their vehicles opposite parking bay especially as the parking area is very tight only just room for 1 vehicle."

Oven dials need attention as the settings are all faded. The path needs attention as very slippery when wet.

  • "Very difficult to read oven temperature."

Toaster performance not consistent. No dressings for small and medium wounds in first aid kit. Dining chairs not particularly comfortable. Instructions for waste disposal confusing. Full inventory prior to renting would be very useful. Overall delighted with Banneth, its furnishings and location.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at this property and look forward to our next visit to it."

The locality suited us very well with easy travel to all Cornwalls places of interest. The property itself is a beautifully furnished, clean and fully equipped home and we were sad to leave it. I was initially concerned about the close proximity of the road noise wise but it wasn't a problem as the double glazed windows killed the noise and with the rear windows open it was possible to let the evening air in.

  • "We had a great week at Banneth."

The only thing that lets it down is only having one parking space. A 4 bedroom place would normally have this and the residents were not very accommodating! If I’m being picky, thicker curtains to block out early morning light would be a bonus too but there are lots of little lovely touches which make up for this. Body boards, buckets and spades to borrow was great as well as a small library in both the lounge and storage room.

  • "Beautiful property and really well equipped with everything we needed and really homely touches."

Only thing that would have improved it would be another parking space (plenty of room on the property to provide this).

  • "The cottage, had dog hairs everywhere, dishwasher does not work, Main Shower not good, The mattress on the second big bedroom is very very uncomfortable and have gone home with terrible back pain and tired!"

! Not good, considering we paid close to £2000 for the week. It’s a lovey house but the owner, needs to put some money back into the house. The garden is massive and lovely. But will definitely not book there again. Very Disappointed!!!! And yes please publish this so that the owner can know and sort all this out!!!!!!

We are sorry that your recent stay at Banneth has failed to meet your expectations and thank you for bringing this to our attention. As a result, a new dishwasher has been installed and the mattress has been replaced with a high-quality firmer item. The cleaning issues have been fully resolved with the Housekeeper and should never happen again. We look forward to you returning to Banneth again in the future. Property Owner

  • "Whereas there were positives about the house we were disappointed with the following: - We were there for a 2 week holiday and had expected a mid-stay clean, and change of bath towels and bedding."

On calling Sykes during our first week we discovered that this wasn't part of the holiday deal but the member of staff that we spoke to said that they could arrange for a clean on Saturday 3rd August - all we needed to do was leave the key in the key box when we left for the day. We did this but disappointingly arrived back at the end of the day on Saturday to find that no-one had been (we also left the key on Monday 5th just in case - still no one came). We ended up cleaning the bathrooms and washing the bath towels ourselves although there were no adequate cleaning cloths nor any bleach or toilet cleaner. - the throws on the 2 sofas were very dirty and pretty disgusting - we washed these for the next guests - we arrived on Saturday 27th July to find the outside bin overflowing with rubbish from the previous guests (not a great first impression) - there was no recycling system in place at all. We ended up sorting our own recycling and taking it to the local Sainsbury's where there was a recycling facility - some of the cutlery and crockery was very dirty - we couldn't get the dishwasher to work at all whilst we were there (there was no instruction manual in the house for us to refer to) - in relation to a previous guests complaint about the loose slate tile on the step outside, we did receive a message from someone at Sykes to say that this would be fixed - they said someone would come on Saturday 3rd August between 12 and 2pm; no one came to fix this during this time nor any other time during our stay

  • "The property is centrally located and comfortable, our only constructive criticism relates to our own experience within minutes of our arrival; it would be very useful if the property description mentioned that the garden wasn't fully secure for dogs, rather than relying solely on the note in the folder."

We managed to retrieve our dog before he came to any harm on the busy road.

Especially liked Trelowarren estate almost on doorstep. By the way, previous occupants had left rotting vegetables in bottom kitchen drawer - strange place to put them! Cleaners had missed these, though otherwise standard of cleaning A1.
