  • "We thorougly enjoyed our stay here."

The property came with everything that we needed. The kitchen was fully stocked with all we wanted for cooking. It was spotlessly clean, very warm and the Christmas decorations and the lights was a lovely touch. Also the cream tea was a lovely treat. The dog was very safe in the garden, he was very happy.

  • "We have stayed at this property in February and November this year."

It is ideal for us as we have family members living close-by. The property is spotlessly clean, comfortable and has a few essentials such as milk, tea, coffee etc and some lovely scones with home made jam. The secure garden is great for our dogs. We had daily walks on the beach at Portreath and the cliffs around Portreath, Porthtowan and St Agnes head which includes the much photographed Wheal Coates mine ruins. The Pod coffee house in Porteath is well worth a visit after a walk on the beach. We have already booked again for next year.

We used it as a base to go visit a lot of different areas of Cornwall on our honeymoon. The apartment was clean and welcoming. Had everything we needed. Our dog loved her stay there as well. She enjoyed the lovely little garden. The one negative about the whole stay was that the bed was quite uncomfortable, and after a full day out, we couldn't get a good night's sleep.

The problem was Rats running around the garden where the patio area where you would sit, also on the lawned area where your dog would play. Please be aware we will never come back to this property and will not recommend the cottage .

Thank you for your feedback. As soon as you advised us (on the forth day of your stay) that you had seen three rats (you said first noted on day 2) during your stay, we purchased a pet friendly bait box and bait. Purchased and placed immediately, set up outside the property where you informed us you had seen the rats come from. The property is located in the countryside and surrounded by fields but we do apologise for any upset this may have caused yourselves. We are pleased that you enjoyed the cottage and only chose to curtail your stay by ONLY the one day (although you say the rats bothered you greatly). Therefore we had hoped the requested compensation would had lifted your spirits. That compensation I sent via the booking platform opposed to the cash request in response of not giving bad feedback which you suggested. Either way, no further rats have been seen or reported since. . the only small issue was that although it offers WiFi, the WiFi isn’t actually strong enough to use and with the signal being so poor (fully appreciate that cannot be helped), having poor WiFi basically left us without being able to use the internet at all unless going in the garden to use our mobile data.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. Apologies for this, but the WiFi issue seems to have been a one-off, as the system was rebooted and works fine. Thank you for your kind comments and we look forward to you staying again. Property Owner

Lots of treats on arrival and for our dog also. A great base for St Ives, Penzance and Falmouth. Our stay was hampered by bad weather, rain, hail and wind! We enjoyed two sunny days. Spent time at two local beaches Porthtowan and Portreath. We had a very restful week, and our dog was completely safe in the enclosed garden. Our only complaint was that the bed springs would ping occasionally, maybe getting a bit worn? A small issue in an otherwise spot on holiday cottage.

It is clean, spacious, well-equipped and the high wall and fence around the garden make it ideal to let the dogs go outside. With family living close-by, we have come to regard this area as a second home. Morning walks on Portreath beach followed by a visit to Pod cafe or Porthtowan beach and a visit to Blue Bar. We hope to be back later this year away from the busy season. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting to visit the area and a safe for their dog(s).

  • "A little difficulty finding property as the road where it's situated is divided into 3 parts & continues through 2 sets of crossroads."

We were met with a warm welcome from William and Cathy who own the attached farm too, and enjoyed the cream scones and jam, and the homely touches such as flowers. Once we found our bearings, there's a nearby pub and corner shop, and the nearest beach is Portreath with a great Chinese takeaway, cafe and Bassett public house. Dogs aren't actually allowed on most beaches during July and August except before 10 am and after 6 pm, which is a shame, but they're allowed in most pubs. The location suited us very well, being close to many tourist attractions, beaches and Healey's Cyder Farm. The property itself is beautifully presented, clean, warm, dog-friendly, modern with good facilities for a couple. Dogs were not actually allowed in the bedroom but most dogs would probably jump onto the sofa if left unattended. Bed was comfortable. Shower lovely. Certain sundries such as wash-up liquid, shampoo, milk, bottle opener weren't provided, but found hair dryer, tea, coffee and sugar useful . The garden is enclosed and is fantastic for dogs, even the escape artists who squeeze round the back, and the conservatory is comfortable, warm and light. Cathy's paintings were tastefully displayed on walls and can be purchased, or commissioned to order. I would certainly recommend the accommodation and would have no hesitation in staying here again.

The location is well placed to visit all the wonderful towns and bays that Cornwall has to offer. The local superstore (Aldi) was just up the road which was also convenient, so no need to bring all your shopping with you. The hosts were available during the stay but we did not need anything during our stay. We loved the local beaches (approx 3 miles away), our favourite was Porthtowan as it was reasonably quiet, it has some nice places to eat and drink and had a lovely coast walk - perfect!
