  • "Zephyr is a beautiful property."

It is spacious, comfortable and upon arrival spotlessly clean. The property is tastefully decorated and everything provided in the property is of a good quality. Zephyr is definitely somewhere I would return to.

  • "Fantastic property - most well equipped place we’ve ever stayed - they’ve thought of everything!"

The whole house was immaculate and the hosts very friendly and helpful. Great place to stay to explore the Lizard peninsula. The only reason we’ve given a 4 rather than 5 for comfort is that we found the mattresses a bit hard but that’s personal preference. Everything else was 5 star. Would definitely stay again!

  • "The house is modern and well presented but surprisingly uncomfortable."

Ventilation is poor, eg, none in main bedroom unless you leave the patio door open, and we were glad we were not there is extremely hot weather. We felt a lack of privacy, partly because of all the glass which made it feel like a gold fish bowl, eg, in the main bedroom there is a direct sight line to the bed through the front door, but also too because the owner, while well meaning I am sure, seemed ever present with texts, etc. The house is at the end of RNAS Culdrose runway which suited us because of an interest in naval aviation but night flying and low aircraft might make it too noisy for some. Generally position brilliant for beaches, surfing and walking the Lizard.

  • "This is the most amazing property that we have ever stayed in through Sykescottages."

Its a well thought out and planned purpose built property with all features being top quality (even down to the luxurious soft towels!!) The owner messaged before our stay to ask about our needs, any local groceries need, the configuration of the beds, even the temperature that we wanted in individual rooms. I cannot reccomend this property highly enough.

The beds are very comfy and a variety of bed linen was available. Kristin and Tom go out of their way to make sure everything is perfect. It's easy to get to and is nicely just off the main road with good privacy and ample parking. The cottage is very clean and has all the amenities required to allow a nice stay. • "Over the years we've stayed in quite a few cottages, as it's our preferred way to holiday."

We have had maybe 1 or 2 places that were as good and pampering as this place, and even they didn't have the warm and caring personal touch we received feo Kristin and her partner! First - the property: in complete contrast to the standard - the photos really don't di it justice. It's huge compared to how it looks in the photos, very spacious. Second - level of equipment and attention to details: the place is equipped with every possible thing - some even better or more than what I have at home (example: I usually bring my own chef knifes, for example - no need here!). And lots of it, too! There's even tupperware, and meet thermometer, and whole lot of things. There was even a different color of towels for each guest (so they don't mix!). There are basic condiments in the property - and when I asked if there are other things, Kristin suggested to get all the spices I need and leave them in the cottage for us! Third - the care. Kristin went way above and beyond anything we could expect of a host. Starting with making sure to supply extras, through seeing we had a puncture one morning and staying in to see that we sort it out. She answered each question we had with great care and knowledge and gave lots of good recommendations. Thank you so much Kristin! And it's close to everything in South Cornwall. This is really a rare find! There was a tiny bit of noise one night from the nearby marine air base - a helicopter I believe; but it was quite OK.

  • "We had the most amazing stay at Zephyr and will definitely be returning!"

As soon as we walked into the property we felt at home! The open plan kitchen/ dining/ lounge area is massive and full of natural light. The property is so well maintained and is the cleanest house we have ever stayed in! My children adored the large lawned garden and the upstairs lounge area which they made their ‘den’ for the week- they didn’t want to leave! There are many beautiful beaches nearby. Our favourites are Gunwalloe church cove, poldhu cove and Kennack sands. We also found some new hidden gems like cadgwith harbour with the cute little seafood shop and loe bar beach in between the sea and a lake. Kynance cove was also very scenic but extremely busy….. We did have an amazing meal at Ellie’s soul food at the top of the hill though which made it worth the visit! The kids also enjoyed a day at Flambards theme park which is only five minutes away. We cannot wait until our next holiday to this gorgeous house in the most beautiful area! Xx

The hosts are the loveliest and checked in regularly to make sure we didn’t need anything restocked or changed during our stay. Lovely outdoor area to enjoy the sunshine when it’s out, and the children loved having their own tv area to chill in upstairs. Thank you for thinking of all the small details and we will be sure to recommend your 5 star property to anyone looking to come visit Cornwall.
