  • "Amazing property, extremely beautiful and relaxing stay."

Had a wonderful time watching boats and wildlife on the river as well as great coastal walks. The property is superbly well equipped and the welcome pack was a great gift on arrival.

  • "Oakenhurst boat house is beautiful and spacious, the photo details were enough to book but really don't prepare you for the amazing views."

It doesn't look big from the outside but when you go upstairs to the living quarters it delivers the wow factor and then some. If you like peace and quiet, then this is a perfect retreat. We had many plans for day trips and books to read. Watching activities on the river ensured that not a page was turned and planned trips much reduced. Would definitely recommend.

Thank you for your lovely feedback, and I'm really glad you enjoyed your stay. I agree the river views can be mesmerizing - so easy to while away pleasant hours doing nothing! Thank you also for booking to return next year - we look forward to welcoming you back. Property Owner

  • "This was our second stay at Oakenhurst in 7 months and we just love it there, like a home from home."

The position on the water, with the lovely village pub just along the road, is perfect for us. Some days we don't want to go anywhere but just enjoy its position and surroundings. Within a week, we booked again for May 2025 for another week.

  • "Oakenhurst is a remarkable development and offers a very quiet, relaxing and comfortable venue for a holiday."

The views from the many windows are dramatic, with an ever-changing land and sea-scape. Facilities are entirely adequate with an abundance of crockery, glasses and cutlery. A very nice hamper of food and drink was provided. We would be happy to revisit in the future.

Many thanks for your visit and for your kind feedback. We would be happy to welcome you back if you do decide to come again. Property Owner

  • "What a unique and very special property Oakenhurst is!"

We had a lovely stay for 2 weeks in November (2023). We were lucky enough to have some sunny days, and the views out across the river are just amazing. It was so relaxing just sitting watching the boats, canoes, and wildlife go by! We were really warm and cosy inside during the evenings, and on the days when the weather was a bit grim. The bedroom in the sail loft is also lovely and cosy. We prefer to visit Cornwall out of season as it is quieter, and Oakenhurst is the perfect property if you like peace and tranquillity, but still want easy access to everything. We would also highly recommend a visit to the Fisherman's Arms, which is a 2 minute walk away, and does excellent food all year round. The train does not disturb at all - in the 2 weeks we stayed, it only went past twice (both times during the day), and it is very slow as it only carries china clay. The only suggestion we would make, is to take a trolley for luggage and shopping (we took a festival trolley) as there is a short (less than a minute) sloped walk from the car park to Oakenhurst. Loading everything in the trolley cuts down on journeys to and from the car! All in all, we loved our stay in this special property and hope to return soon!

It was lovely to meet you on arrival, and I'm glad you had a great time. Thanks very much for taking the time to write such detailed and helpful feedback. We look forward to welcoming you back whenever you can make it. Property Owner

  • "We loved Oakenhurst & felt like millionaires staying there."

Have already booked it again next May. The only downside to the place was the small size of the shower.

Glad you had a wonderful time here, and we look forward to welcoming you back in May. Many thanks for the feedback - and while we sadly can't fit in a larger shower cubicle, we are looking to change the fittings so there is more space inside the cubicle. Property Owner

  • "Very beautiful, tranquil,Unique small pocket of Heavenly retreat."

A larger shower cubicle / option downstairs. Shower curtain running inside the Bath upstairs. A simplification of the lighting circuitry relating to a more straightforward understanding of which switches switch on and off which lights would be super helpful

Thanks very much for your kind comments and feedback. We have improved and simplified the lighting plan, and yes, the shower is a bit cramped, so we are looking into changing the shower fittings to create more space in side the cubicle. Property Owner

  • "The house was stunning, the locality was stunning, the property was everything we could hope for."

Utter peace and quiet completed a wonderful holiday. The generous selection of local goods was a lovely surprise, why not have an unexpected cream tea for breakfast? The house came with everything anyone could ask for as far as we could see! Coming down the stairs to the 180 degree river views of a morning and returning to them at the end of the day never ceased to make us smile. How lucky were we? We have every intention of returning to Oakenhurst and Golant in the future. Can't wait.

Many thanks for staying and for taking the time to leave your kind feedback. We're thrilled you had such a lovely time, and look forward to welcoming you back again. Property Owner
