Lovely old house but with a few flaws sofas felt damp and grubby bbq not fit for purpose On the plus side it was a lovely location and we had everything we needed even with a 17 month old comfy clean beds The hot tub advertised is a little on the small side and there was no stool to assist getting in I am 63 and have a sore hip so was unable to use it Overall we had a wonderful stay and would not hesitate to go back

  • "The owner was helpful."

Garden was smaller than looks on photo and very overlooked. Both double beds were quite uncomfortable. Needs a general update. Carpet on stairs has seen better days. Facilities in kitchen were great. Location of property was brilliant for what we wanted to see. Notes left in house were v useful. We would not book this property again but had a very enjoyable stay.

Comfortable, charming decor, and felt like home Ideal location as quiet to come home to but easy access to the beaches and places to visit. There’s a wonderful tea room in the village and two local pubs. Communication with the owner was really clear, welcoming, friendly and quick. Will definitely stay again

  • "It was filthy ,cold and the sofas so hard it made watching tv or just reading difficult."

They need to change there cleaner and redo the 1 antique storage heater for that huge room . Difficult to reach glasses on deep window sill but they had loads of dust on ,no steps for us short arses .we have stayed in lots of cottages but this was the most expensive but also most disappointing.

We have had so many positive reviews saying how clean our property is and what a wonderful place is to stay since this guest wrote this review. I think this guest had a bad weather week and it reflects in his review. He did not contact me to discuss anything while he was there, which is very strange. He is wrong on several points for example the storage heater is a state of the art brand-new one which is highly recommended by our heating company as it green and much more effective in so many ways than traditional storage heaters Perhaps he did not know how to operate it. I try to come and advise people but some guests don’t want to be disturbed. There is also a beautiful log fire which can warm the whole house up on its own so I don’t really understand why he was cold. Please look at all our positive reviews as I think this man just had a negative outlook. Property Owner

  • "Overlooked on EVERY corner of garden."

House smelt funny (the whole week) - NOT of dogs. Hot Tub extremely small and very dated. Very cluttered house. Parking diabolical to reverse into. No where hang wetsuits etc. Need a tumble dryer. Cleaning was not up to scratch - greeny on wall and behind beds not pulled out and cleaned in ages. Very cold house and condensation on windows every morning

  • "What a good holiday cottage!"

We are a couple with 2 dogs, all 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Roncon's Villa is very comfortable and stylishly furnished. The hot tub was great, we've never used one before and are now hot tub converts. Garden was pleasant and secure and the log burner was very welcome when returning from the beach with our canine friends. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds were very comfortable. A major factor is the superb location of Roncon's. There are so many wonderful beaches, sights and eateries within easy distance and the list of useful information left by Juliet the owner was extremely useful. 2 decent pubs just a stones throw from the property, with a post office and a separate general store a short walk away. Thoroughly recommended!

Very peaceful setting with amenities (pubs, local store) within a couple of minutes walk. The hot tub was an absolute bonus and was a great way to end a busy day after taking in all the local sights and walks.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Roncon’s Villa."

The situation both in the village and the closeness to the coast is brilliant, we enjoyed coastal walks from the house on several occasions. We liked the eclectic arrangement of the home. We loved having the use of the hot tub. The wine fridge and dishwasher were unexpected surprises and very useful. Thank-you for the bottle of bubbly and chocolates! The area just outside the door is uneven and I almost fell on a couple of occasions. One of our dogs managed to escape from the garden over some low fencing, so had to be supervised when outside after that. The king sized bed in the family room is next to the wall, so may be tricky for some people getting in and out of bed. Overall, a wonderful stay in a brilliant location - thank-you!

  • "A really great place to stay and explore this beautiful area of Cornwall."

A very quirky property that had some really cool features and everything we needed. Great kitchen to cook family meals and plenty of space for us all. The hot tub was very pleasant and relaxing after days out exploring! Certainly wasn't expecting to be using the log fire in August but Cornwall was surprisingly chilly this week and it was lovely to sit around the log burner in the evening. If there was anything I would change, the main bed was rather soft and the sofas rather firm! :-)

Its a lovely building in a lovely village, very well equipped. 2 great pubs to eat at (except Mondays) It's close to loads of places. we had a great time. Juliet was so helpful, even changed the tv, for us. Beds were very comfortable. Hot tub was fab. The Garden gets the sun, you have to chase it though! Perhaps in need of some replacement seating in the garden area to include seat pads We did miss sun loungers, perhaps a couple of light weight ones would be appreciated.

  • "We were staying with 2 couples, 1 single person and 2 dogs in this beautiful cottage."

The moment we arrived, we felt we arrived in the UK. It is such a charming cottage. A really nice kitchen where you have actually everything you need. It is amazing how well-equipped the kitchen was. Another plus is that there are 2 toilets/bathrooms. When you come with different households, everyone wants some privacy, and because there are 2, you never have to wait for another person to finish. The rooms are nice. The only thing that we would change is the amount of furniture in the house. It is actually quite full with stuff and because of that, sometimes we didn’t find the place to put our stuff (especially downstairs). But we would love to go back and had an amazing time in Cornwall!!!

  • "Huge thank you to Juliet who provides such wonderful holiday accommodation in such a beautiful Cornish location."

'Home from Home' experience with a bottle of fizz waiting for us upon arrival and the hot tub warmed ready to 36 degrees ready for us to jump in! Gated garden was wonderful for all of us including our Cockapoo! Only a 15 minute walk to the nearest dog beach - Beautiful Perranuthnoe (summer months dog restricted hours to before 10am and after 6pm) and to join the South West Coastal Path. Dog owners can take a short 2 mile drive to Long Rock near Penzance to enjoy an all round very long dog beach! Very well equipped kitchen! Kids loved the American style fridge freezer with cold water dispenser. I loved the kitchen being central in the house so I didn't feel 'shut off' whilst cooking breakfast and dinner. Beds super comfy in ALL the rooms! Very friendly Cornish village - even got invited into someone's house whilst walking pooch and promised a meal if I come back next year! A great base for exploring the westerly side of Cornwall. We found loads to see and explore everyday day, including the old tin mines at Botallock where Poldark was filmed, the Minack Theatre, St Michaels Mount, Mousehole, St Ives, Sennen Cove, Lands End and Penzance! Would thoroughly recommend Roncon's Villa and hope to return!

  • "We had a lovely stay and really enjoyed the house and hot tub."

The place was spotlessly clean, the facilities in the house were of a very high quality and our host was most welcoming. We especially liked the welcoming bottle of fiz. There were a couple of things that could be improved to complete the comfort of our stay and these were the master bed mattress was far too soft for us and we would have liked some better garden furniture to enjoy the outdoors. But overall it was a great space for us and our dog.

Thank you for your great review. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay. Re the mattresses if you look back in our reviews some people love the softer mattress.... it is down to personal preference! We also have a harder mattress in the second bedroom. But I am so glad you found the house clean and had a great time and enjoyed our hot tub!! Property Owner

  • "I read another item of feedback on this property a couple of weeks ago from Wayne and have to say our experience was totally the opposite!"

We were welcomed in the property by a lovely welcome pack. The property was warm and welcoming and very clean. Our dogs were able to have the run of the garden as the fence (about 3 feet high) is secure The ground floor is open plan (as per the pictures) and has a log burner which was very welcome each night. There is a shower room with toilet and sink on the ground floor too. The kitchen is well appointed with a great fridge and plenty of pans and utensils. The piano needs a tune and a bit of work so my attempts at Bach may have had him turning in his grave! (That’s my excuse). Upstairs are three good bedrooms and a bathroom. All very well decorated and proportioned. There is a beam across the main bedroom which you have to remember is there at 3 in the morning - it hurts to walk into it! There is ample hanging space and plenty of drawers in each bedroom. Outside the hot tub was great to have and we used it regularly. I hope you have a great break there. We will go back as we love the area-there is so much around - the best being St Michaels Mount just over a mile away. I’d suggest driving as it is along a busy road with no footpath. There is also a beach about 20 minutes’ walk away at Perranuthnoe which is lovely. The village has two pubs, both 200 yards away, a village shop 400 yards away (and stocks plenty of everyday essentials) and a post office. Plus plenty of takeaways and restaurants if you are so inclined. The owner, Juliet, was great to deal with. Thank you for a great week!
