  It would have been nice if there was a welcoming pack ready and waiting as a nice cup of tea would have been a joy after a long journey apart from that it is a lovely place to stay easy to get to beach and other places the pub was lovely and to be able to dogs everywhere was lovely would book again

Regarding your welcome pack - this is truly bizarre as we leave a welcome pack for every staying guest, and the company who provide this for us, and we trust implicitly, are adamant that is was left for you, and have even sent us receipts from the day of your stay, for milk and some nice fudge from St Agnes that were part of the welcome pack, so it really is strange and we are not really sure what has happened, so I can only apologise for the inconvenience but apart from this we are glad that you enjoyed your stay. • "Really enjoyed our Christmas stay at beacon barn."

  A few small things that were a bit below par. 1 needed wine glasses, corkscrew etc and had to message the owner. They arrived the next day so no a massive problem but I thought that better quality would be more in keeping with the standard of the barn. The new corkscrew didn't look much better than the old one. 2. The 2nd bedroom is cramped when 2 adults and 2 kids in there. We ended up swapping rooms so we could get a good night sleep. 3.stairs up to barn are slippery in the bad weather. Perhaps a good clean would be in order. Don't get me wrong we had a great time and st agnes is lovely. Just somethings I would like to know if I were the owner.

  Hi Thanks for the feed back - We have had the stairs jet washed due to your feedback, so thank you for bringing that to our attention. Regarding the corkscrew, I am a bit confused, you messaged us to say that it was broken, so we arranged for a new one to be purchased through the maintenance company and dropped off to you, and you are saying that the new corkscrew is below par. I haven't seen said corkscrew, so I cannot comment but I will have a look next time I am in Cornwall. Glad that you had a good time and have a brilliant 2025. Property Owner

• "We have returned to beacon barn for a number of years now."

  The location on the edge of St Agnes is a great place from which to tour around Cornwall. Very clean, very comfortable and very pet friendly. Small communal garden at the front which we find great for our dogs. No good though if you need an enclosed garden. Great walks from the doorstep, two footpaths close by. Have to cross a usy road to get to one and walk for a short while to get to another. Fantastic beach of Chapel Porth close by. Can take dogs on in September. Lots of amenities close by. We found cottages closer in to st agnes can be a bit noisy. We were disappointed this year however as the seal had gone on the shower in the main bathroom. We couldn't use it atall even though we asked the maintenance people to fix it on the first day we arrived.

• "This was amazing accommodation and we would definitely stay there again."

  However are only criticism was the double bed as it was far to hard and we had to sleep in the two single beds. I think this was also mentioned previously in a review.

Regarding the bed - you are correct, I have just reread the reviews and we have had another review stating that the beds a bit hard, so we will look into getting that changed. It is difficult with beds though, as some people like a hard bed, and some people like a soft bed, so I think that we shall go for something in the middle. Thanks again for staying with us. • "Beacon Barn is a charming and generously sized property that is well-equipped for a comfortable stay."

  However, I observed a potential mold issue in the children's bedroom, which raised some concerns for me. My main disappointment stemmed from the fact that the property was advertised as being within easy walking distance to town, which was a key factor in our decision to book. Unfortunately, we discovered that there was no road or public footpath available for us to use, especially with our two young children in tow. The fast-moving traffic made it unsafe for us to attempt walking into town, which was disappointing. Overall, while Beacon Barn is a lovely property, its just a shame it wasn’t accessible to St Agnes.

  Hi Thank you for your feedback and thankyou for staying with us. To address the points that you have raised, we have asked the maintenance company to investigate the issue of "potential mould" , as we have never had this mentioned previously by any other guests, but rest assured the maintenance company will get to the bottom of it and deal with it, if necessary. Regarding access to the village, there is a gate opposite the entrance to the barns and there is a public footpath (more like a track) that runs adjacent to the road and brings you out near the church at the top of the village. This info is in the welcome/information booklet that is in the property, as we wanted to let guests know of that route. Thanks again for staying with us. Property Owner

• "A fantastic property in a great location."

  Set slightly out of St Agnes but within easy walking distance with lovely views of the Beacon. The property was well equipped had everything we needed (except perhaps a cafetiere or some way of making coffee) and the owner was incredibly helpful and responsive when we were missing bedding for one of our party. Useful information provided on local beaches and how to get into St Agnes via paths (to avoid the road). Would love to stay here again and would definitely recommend

• "A beautifully finished and well appointed building."

  The only issue we had was that the drain in the en suite shower was blocked which flooded the bathroom floor on the first morning. I called the property management company and asked them for additional towels and to come and fix it. As nothing had changed by the second morning I called again to the management company but there was no answer so I called the property owner and luckily he got everything fixed later that same day.

• "A very enjoyable stay at Beacon Barn."

  The location and amenities were perfect. The property was a luxury to us as there were only the two of us staying. However, it would be perfect for families as all the rooms were large and uncluttered!! The barn was very well equipped with clear instructions.

• "A gorgeous, comfortable, clean barn."

  We got used to the fast traffic but it did take a few nights. As the week went by, listed below are a few recommendations for an even more comfortable stay.: Would have loved a caffatiere or coffee machine to have been available. A mat inside the front door would be useful for taking dirty shoes off or drying down wet dogs esp if it’s raining and you can’t do it outside. Some blinds/ curtains on the main windows would be useful as our dogs woke with the 4.30 am dawn chorus as it was so light. We had a fabulous week, the weather was great and we were able to explore the beautiful coast and footpaths. We would definitely stay again and recommend to our friends. • "This was an absolutely fantastic property."

  Inside was modern and extremely clean. The bed was very comfortable with extra pillows and duvets to hand if needed. This kitchen was fully equipped and everything that you could possibly need. We loved watching the pigs with their piglets, goat and cows in the field. This was an exceptional property and would fully recommend a stay. The only downside was that it was impossible to walk to St Agnus on the road with our dogs and the public footway requested a call to confirm use.

  Only issue was no seating area outside of this cottage. We will try book a ground floor cottage next time. St Agnes is beautiful too.

  Had everything we needed. Well stocked kitchen area, modern appliances and powerful shower. Our young daughter loved looking out over the farm to see the pig and cows. Would definitely stay again - thank you!

• "Lovely well maintained barn conversion."

  Accessed via a flight of steps outside. Fantastic location for exploring Cornwall. St Agnes itself is a lovely little coastal village. Only slight downer was that the bed was too hard. A mattress topper would have made this a perfect stay.

• "Described as nestled in St Agnes , it was sited before the sign that proclaimed the town itself and beside a busy road."

  It is a beautiful barn conversion and I understand planning rules have to be adhered to, however lighting could be improved. It is very fashionable slightly at the expense of comfort, I like upright seating. Also all in one room living means xtra planning when using washing machine and cooking as unable to hear telly or each other. Bad leak in door of shower in bathroom. Perhaps some sort of gate at top of stairs would ensure child and dog safety. Giant bath towels too big to wrap hair in to prevent a soaking and only realised on last day you could tilt shower head to avoid torrent. My 28 year older daughter absolutely loved everything about it however. Love the town of St Agnes and the many super walks and interesting attractions , museum especially informative. Thankyou for most useful welcome pack, and very comfortable beds Had a ground floor property with its own outside space been available when we booked I suspect our experience would have been more positive.
