  • "Lovely place, we had a great week at Atlantis."

Excellent location and well appointed house. Couple of minor points, arrived to find broken fridge shelf on dining room table and valve for bathroom mixer tap was loose and fell out. Informed owner and he replied immediately saying maintenance would sort. Also oven has no writing around dials, so unable to tell temp or other settings. These were minor issues and did not detract from our week. We would be happy to stay again in the future. Thanks

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay and would love to welcome you back anytime in the future. - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "We have just returned from a fantastic couple of days staying at the Atlantis."

Firstly the property owner was very helpful and felt very approachable. The property was just perfect and exactly what we wanted. It was close to the beach, close to shops and restaurants. The kids loved their stay and the secure garden was great for the kids and dog. The property was clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend and would definitely be returning in the future.

  • "The single bed with truckle was broken so had an emergency temporary fix and fortunately my son was only there for a couple of nights- it needs replacing as the headboard was loose too and moved and squeaked."

The John Bray team said they would replace the bed so I trust this was done. They came as we arrived to fix a loo which must have broken the previous week. The toaster only toaster on one side so we had to speak with the Manchester team who couldn’t deal with me as I was not my husband who made the booking! A good property and helpful JB local team but let down by the Sykes team and getting hold of them.

Many thanks for your response James and I am sorry about the broken trundle bed, when I first heard about this I ordered a new one which is due to be delivered in the next few weeks, so I hope the ‘temporary’ repair will last ok until then! I have ordered a new toaster which should have been delivered by now, sadly these items do break but I always make sure we replace them as soon as we can. I can only apologise about communications with Sykes which I also find very frustrating and now try and only talk to the local John Bray team, who I find most helpful. Thank you again for your feedback which is always appreciated and I hope you had an enjoyable stay, despite the odd damaged items! All the best, Chris Property Owner

  • "Wonderful place to relax and enjoy the views."

We were able to spread out comfortably, had my elderly parents with me and had a nice social feel around the kitchen/lounge area to cook and watch the sunset. Great coastal walks so you are never bored with the dog and easy enough to get on a beach, have a swim and head back. Polzeath has good restaurants and bars minutes away. Plus Padstow, Wadebridge, Port Issac not far away in the car to visit. Top place for a holiday, thanks.

  • "What a fantastic addition since out last visit to Atlantis (Sept."

2020). The whole building has revolutionised our stay, especially the additional bedrooms, and most importantly the first floor balcony and decking area. The port hole window in the upstairs window gives fabulous views of the beach!! The chill out factor has increased immensely. Great addition to the building. The owners have also invested in other areas such as new patio furniture which gives yet another vantage point to see the beach. There were a couple of niggles (door locks) but these were fixed almost as soon as they were called into John Brays office. Everything that was needed to make it feel like home from home was provided. Well done to the owners for an exceptional extension to Atlantis. Over the past 20 years we have stayed in many properties in Polzeath. This is by far the best. 100%, we will be back!

  • "Stayed at Atlantis with a group of 6 friends for my Birthday over the Coronation weekend and the house was even bigger and more beautiful than the photos led me to believe."

The rooms were all great sizes, the views... the VIEWS!! Incredible. The bed I slept in (top floor) was extremely comfortable, kitchen very well equipped. The only negative feedback I have would be to reiterate some of the previous comments - no shower curtains in the bathroom which makes the shower over bath rather unusable, and the hot water also seemed to run out after the first evening which meant all 7 of us had to use the electric shower downstairs. No blue book as per other reviews so no information for the property or numbers to call either. But we 'made do' regardless and as we had such beautiful weather, we were only in the house in the evenings anyway and definitely made the most of that beautiful balcony overlooking Polzeath beach. Great value and would 100% recommend to others, thank you!

Thank you for your kind words Lydia, much appreciated! I have repeatedly asked John Bray to return the useful blue information book and can only apologise that this simple task has still not been completed! Very strange the Hot water ran out as we have a huge new HW tank and it has not done so before, even with ten guests, so perhaps the time clock might need adjusting which I will check when we we next go down. • "Are we dealing with John Bray or Sykes?"

Communications from both so confusing. Atlantis is a lovely well equipped very comfortable holiday home stayed five times now and excellent conversion to provide upstairs bedrooms bathroom and seating area/ balcony. The blue folder containing all the info on equipment was missing but did find some leaflets in a drawer. It would be good to know what time the heating and water are set to come on/off

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Atlantis, next time please do not hesitate to phone the john bray office and they will be willing answer any questions about the property and help you in any way. • "I have just spent the most wonderful 4 days staying at Atlantis, Polzeath."

The house is a fabulous place to stay. . The beds are super comfortable and a joy to sleep in. Atlantis is in a prime position to enjoy all the amenities of Polzeath with stunning and beautiful views of Polzeath beach and amazing sunsets. Vey well equipped and beautifully decorated. I cannot recommend it highly enough and the owners have gone to great lengths to kit it out with all the essentials, and more. I didn’t want to leave and will certainly be going back.

  • "My Family and I have been going to Polzeath for over 20 years and by far our favourite place to stay is Atlantis."

The owners have gone to such trouble to make it comfortable and the views of Polzeath beach are amazing! It is perfect for all the children and now grandchildren with all the facilities that are needed to make a stay by the seaside perfect for all ages! We cannot wait to return.

  • "Lovely property, well situate and well looked after."

Pity about the builders next door but we were warned about this - the main problem with them was the parking of their vehicles on the road which caused great problems with access to Atlantis. The only complaint with regard the property was the lack of information regarding the property and the area - usually there is a book with all sorts of information in properties that we have previously rented.

We have been reviewing all of our feedback over this years season, we just wanted to say a massive thank you for taking the time to feedback on your stay. Your comments were noted by us here at John Bray Cornish Holidays and were raised to rectify. • "The holiday home itself is great."

However we were unable to make use of the veranda area during our stay as there was hard landscaping and building work going on next door. Also not comfortable using the garden at the rear as during our stay there were workmen and landscaping going on next door and there were parts of the fence missing and you could directly see the landscaping/landscapers only feet away plus the noise. This did ruin our stay which we did inform sykes that it would prior to our stay but on two occasions and in writing were informed this work would definitely all have been completed prior to our stay. We did inform them the local office and the owner regarding the situation on day 1 of our holiday. We are now returned from our holiday and have no resolution as yet. I feel as the customer the reason to choose this property above others is that it has s lovely veranda and a garden area too, both of which we were unable to make use of during or stay, we were awakened by building noise 5 mornings out of 7 between 8 and 8.30 am during the stay and the owner seems alright for us to just have to give up and come home from out holiday if we want to and he won't be offended!! Although he is apologetic about the situation and agrees it has been handled badly by the agents .

Thank you for providing us with your feedback following your stay at Atlantis, it is good to hear that you thought the property was great. We are really sorry that you were not kept up to date in regards to the landscaping works taking place at the property next door, we are going to look into this internally. During your stay the owner contacted the builder who was more than happy to speak with you directly to minimise the disruption to your stay, he was very apologetic as his team had been told not to start until after 9am. The building works had been planned to be completed by the end of June however, due to covid causing issues with suppliers the works were delayed. The owner only wanted you to leave the property if the works were having to much of an impact on your stay, not because they didn’t care they would have been happy to refund you for the nights you didn’t stay. I will contact you directly to discuss as it was to our understanding that this was all resolved during your stay. – John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "We had an amazing week staying in Atlantis."

The situation of the house gives the most incredible views over the beach. The work on the upstairs bedrooms and balcony also give breathtaking views over Polzeath. To wake up to those sights and sounds will stay in our memory for a long time. The facilities and layout of Atlantis are excellent. The outdoor shower is perfect when returning from time in the sea. Our only comment is that there is one excellent shower downstairs and two baths with shower attachments but no shower screen. If you have a house full of wet surfers a bath is not ideal and we found ourselves queueing for the shower. Shower screens and a rail for the shower head on the tap end of the bath and you have two more functional showers! That would be the only downside in an amazing home. We had a fabulous stay at Atlantis and are planning to return next year.

Dear guest, thank you for taking the time to review your stay. We are very pleased to hear you had a lovely holiday. Thank you for your suggestions regarding to the shower screens. Looking forward to seeing you again. John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

The beds were extra comfy and there was a fabulous feel to the house. We usually book Splits and love it but it was a lovely change and we would love to book again. I rang John Bray whilst I was there as I overheard that you are no longer doing priority booking and the lady I spoke to promised she would call back with the new information of how to book and why priority booking has been cancelled and I have heard nothing. I have been a loyal John Bray customer for over 10 years and I am extremely disappointed that we will no longer be able to guarantee our annual trip to Cornwall.
