• "There was no signs to the property despite having a satnav."

  The property location is stunning but the property is very tired and none of the curtains hang properly and very poor quality. We had to clean the grate out in the log burner before using it on our first night. The property really needs updating. It only has one shower and for six people that is not ideal. There is no washing machine or tumble dryer which is not great at this time of year. I would also like to add that trying to contact Sykes with any questions was not easy as I wanted to speak to someone not a computer. This long arm service is not helpful you need to actually provide real people at the end of a phone, not through a portal!

• "Great location close to the beach with amazing views - it has the potential to be a real gem."

  However, the double bedroom smells strongly of damp. The ensuite does not have a shower as listed. The place is generally tired and needs a lot of TLC.

• "My sister and I have been staying at Millbank at all times of the year for the last 20 years and we absolutely love it!"

  It is in need of a little repair now but we have wonderful happy times and hope that we may continue to stay here a little longer - thank you so much.

• "Generally disappointed."

  The furniture in the lounge had been replaced with 2 dark brown sofas making it very dark, plus the curtains were too small and hanging off. The kitchen was described as having a ceramic hob. There was a very small, ancient cooker that the bottom oven didn't work so trying to cook for a family was impossible. Also the left side of the electric toaster didn't work. Outside the downpipe drain wasn't attached so when it rained the patio was soaked by the back door. Not impressed considering the price that I paid! Money needs to be spent on this place

• "Wonderful location and all required items/set out was great."

  However the house is extremely damp with black mould evident in window frames, on curtain fabrics and the house smelt of damp. Able to air the house when we were there but was an issue at night - particularly in the double bedroom. Couldn’t use the wardrobes due to damp smell. A real shame as a cracker of a house, location and getaway but wouldn’t book again due to damp.

• "Location fantastic and we very much enjoyed our stay in the property."

  It was very clean and everything you need is provided except for a washing machine. However, given the price we expected a generally higher standard as to the look of the place. Many of the fixtures and fittings and the furniture, especially in the living room and the bedrooms is frankly shabby and needs replacing. Too much stuff everywhere. The place looks tired and needs some TLC and a bit of money spent on it.

• "Cottage was lovely with amazing views however there were a couple of issues."

  We had been advised that the steps to the property were only small as my mum has mobility issues. The steps were in fact very steep. Curtains were hanging off the rail in the bedroom next to the kitchen. Twin bedroom next to bathroom, the slats under the bed kept falling out which made sleeping very difficult.

• "Great position lovely beach and local facilities."

  The property its self is a little tired and could do with some updating. That said we had a lovely time and pet friendly a major asset.

• "Over ten years in a row we've stayed here and its excellent in nearly all respects for what we need."

  It's a shame Sykes don't consider repeat bookings year on year as it makes things so much easier for everybody.

• "On the whole, a lovely property, in a location with an amazing view of the beach and coastline."

  And wild bunnies in the garden - so sweet! No major gripes at all, but a few little things... like the two clocks in the kitchen and living room not working and showing the wrong time. And the hedge next to the path to the front door was overgrown and blocking the path. One of the two hooks on the master bedroom door was missing. These things I'm sure would be easy to fix, but would make a difference. Those little finishing touches...

• "Thank you so much for a lovely stay at Millbank."

  I brought our dog with us this time, as we are allowed to now, and he loved it. Lots of walks to Daymer and Pentire. Millbank has a lovely feeling about it and we were able to relax and enjoy our time there. I have been coming to Polzeath since I was a child, nearly 60 years now, lots of changes over the years but still my favourite destination for a relaxing holiday. All things being equal, I will be back again to Millbank later in the year, and hopefully for many more years to come.

• "Hi we loved our stay yet again."

  12th year running in Polzeath. Had a great meal at the Cracking Crab and would highly recommend it. Wifi at Millbank would be great! Look forward to booking again.
