  • "First lets start with the negative."

Not all Sykes properties have a full maintenance agreement in place, and like this one have a cleaning only agreement. So if there are any issues you are basically are stuck with it since neither the owner or Sykes will attempt a resolution of the problem. At this property the hob does not work, as the contact number is only for the cleaning they were not in a position to help, when I phoned Sykes they left messages for the owner but they did not respond. As a result we only had an oven and microwave all week, meaning we were forced to eat out more than we wished. The cleanliness left something to be desired, as two large bin liners of rubbish were left outside on arrival for us to dispose of, and the toilet and bathroom stunk of cigarette smoke. A pity really as this with a little effort from the owner could be a 5 star rating. The internet is BT so the strength is top notch. There is a lovely TV with Amazon Prime which can be viewed in the lounge and bedroom. The holiday Park itself is well maintained and the location is perfect, there is so much to see and do on the Lizard peninsula you wont need or want to venture more than a few miles. It is worth mentioning the property has a coin meter for electricity. We were concerned it had only £10 on it, but we need not have been concerned, as believe it or not at the end of the week there was still over £2 worth on the meter. In conclusion more input from the owner required to ensure all amenities particularly the hob are serviceable and the property is properly cleaned between lets, but well equipped, reasonably comfortable in an absolutely fantastic location

  • "The property was tiny."

We have stayed at other properties which have had a lot more room. There was one small rail in the bedroom to hang clothes for 2 people for 2 weeks. We ended up living out of our open suitcases in the "living room" which was awful. Being unsteady on my feet after a stroke I actually fell onto the open suitcases and cut my leg. The towel rail in the bathroom was hanging off. There were no hooks to hang wet towels. We had to search for instructions on how to use the cooker and oven. The electric went off during the second week so had to ring Sykes to contact the owner who in the first instance was not contactable. It turned out that we needed to put money in a meter which we had no idea about and no note had been left regarding this. All in all after suffering a stroke and family bereavement this holiday was a total let down and hugely disappointing to myself and my partner. UNHAPPYCUSTOMER.

  • "Really enjoyed staying at Trevellyn holiday chalet , and the location was very good for days out."

A little information would be helpful , just where the rubbish and recycling is. Wi-Fi was very good , thanks for the milk that was very helpful. Bed is very comfortable, everything was clean . A small lamp for the living room and bedroom would be helpful ?
