Clean and modern. Please sort out the faulty blinds, storage heaters could nt get them to work. Far too complicated and not OAP friendly. As a serious golfer the mention of a putting green I put my putter in to have a bit of practice Would have been better off putting in a wedge All in all we had a good time but I don't think we will be back.

I am so glad your overall stay at Bell Cottage was comfortable but sorry to read there were a couple of drawbacks. These are addressed in the Visitor Information and welcome email which I am sure would have helped with the functionalities. I am always on hand to help guests so should you wish to return in the future please don't worry about calling or emailing me, always happy to help. Best wishes Lorna Property Owner

Although the seafront is close it is a shame it wasnt advised that we walked due to the road safety aspect but this didnt stop us enjoying a little break. the cottage was very well decorated and maintained and very spacious with all mod cons included. Would certainly recomend you pay it a visit.

  • "It’s been over 25 years since we last stayed at Kenegie Manor and to be honest we were looking for somewhere to stay in St Ives with our dog but were not willing to pay the prices being charged so when we saw Bell Cottage was available we thought ‘why not’?"

We were pleasantly surprised to find that it was well equipped with everything we needed - a good place to stay. The bonus for us was how peaceful and relaxing it was and no crowds. The one thing I would say that slightly let the overall experience down was the sofa. It could do with a clean as it smelt of dogs and had stains on it. A spray of Febreeze and a couple of air fresheners did the trick in the short term. Thanks for the welcome milk, fizz and biscuits. Much appreciated. We will definitely stay again

Thank you for your comments Russell and I’m delighted to hear you had a relaxing time staying at Bell Cottage. I can confirm that all the soft furnishings and carpets are professionally cleaned at the end of every season but I have forwarded your comments to my cleaner who will address the sofa in the short term. • "We understood that Bell Cottage was situated within a Holiday Park and that the property was in a terrace, what was not made clear was that this cottage although privately owned was one of a considerable number of similar cottages."

I doubt we would have made the booking had we realized this. There was no privacy to sit outside and the garden furniture needs replacing. We noted your advice to park thoughtfully - it was a shame other residents did not and on a number of occasions when returning after a meal out we had to park in the main car park. A big advantage was that the cottage was cool in the living room and the sofa was very comfortable and was throughout very clean. It was a nice touch to have flowers and the biscuits and fruit juice. We lost WiFi on the Thursday and the owners were really kind and helpful and arranged for an engineer to visit which we really appreciated. The downside for us was the location, parking and we felt the price was somewhat steep. However this was Cornwall following a pandemic and in the height of season but we do feel your description of the cottage is not truly reflective.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are sorry you felt the accommodation was not as expected. The listing does state the fact that the property is situated in the Kenegie Manor holiday park, and mentions the communal facilities, the nature of the property and surrounding areas. We are also sorry to hear of your experience with parking, we have not received comments about this previously and it is not usual. It was good to hear your positive comments though, together with our housekeeping team we do our best to ensure that our guests enjoy their holiday at Bell Cottage. Property Owner

  • "The description of the cottage was, "Delightful stone holiday home in grounds of a former Manor house."

" What you failed to mention was that it was situated in the middle of a holiday camp. We have stayed in many cottages and the accurate, truthful and complete description of the cottage, grounds and surroundings are what we need to make our choice. By omission of all the facts we rented a cottage in, for us, totally unsuitable position and that, of course, marred our holiday. We were expecting this to be a private conversion with some homely touches in it. as we usually find, such as books, maps. local information, salt and pepper in the kitchen. maybe some cards and games. We rent cottages frequently and have come to expect a truthful and accurate description of the property and a less bland and uninteresting interior.

Thank you for leaving your feedback. We do hope you enjoyed your holiday. Sorry you felt the accommodation was not as expected. The listing does mention the communal facilities, the nature of the property and surrounding areas. Due to Covid owners were advised not to leave such items as salt, pepper etc in the properties and of course they do not need to provided anything in a self catering holiday home. We hoped you found the pdf which was sent to you by the owner containing information and restaurant suggestions helpful. We aim to show by photos the interior of properties. Property Owner

The lounge was really comfy and cosy, some really nice touches such as the blankets. Loved the big corner sofa. Bedrooms were lovely and big and beautifully simply decorated with some great finishing touches. This cottage has lots of thoughtful touches such as the storage unit in the bathroom, the basket of board games, the pile of DVD's and the gorgeous scones and clotted cream on arrival. The only slight downside is Kenegie Manor itself, it's all a bit run down, the shop opens erratic hours as does the restaurant. The one night we went to use it they had stopped serving food early as they were too busy..... They did helpfully supply us with numbers of takeaways that delivered to the Manor though!! Amazing area to visit would highly recommend Mermaid pleasure boats - we went out and saw seals and dolphins. Also the Minnack Theatre had a great children's show - fabulous fun for everyone. Would also recommend Tremenhere Landscape Gardens just minutes from Kenegie Manor, we had a lovely lunch there and beautiful and interesting gardens.

Penzance hosts Golowan, the Midsummer Carnival, and The Literary Festival. There are also The Exchange, Newlyn and Penlee Art Galleries. One of Cornwall’s most popular holiday areas is the spectacular sweep of Mount’s Bay, from the cliffside fishing village of Mousehole through Penzance and around to beautiful Marazion, the coastline hides a wealth of sandy beaches, rocky coves as well as winding village streets and other places to visit and explore. Connected by a causeway to the shore at Marazion is the National Trust’s stunningly beautiful St Michael’s Mount with its hilltop castle and Mediterranean gardens.
