  • "Lovely property in the heart of Cornwall."

Plenty of space for 6 adults and 4 kids. Excellent facilities including the table tennis table, large kitchen table, 3 large bathrooms and lovely outside space. Would definitely recommend and would love to stay again.

  • "Absolutely love Hingey farmhouse and the area."

I cannot reccommend it enough. The house itself has so much character and has everything needed for a comfortable stay. Gunwalloe is a beautiful village within easy reach of so many places to visit. Situated minutes away from Church Cove, and with Poldhu Cove, Kynance Cove and Kennack Sands all nearby. Lots of brilliant places to eat - Roskillys Sunday roast was outstanding. The Halzephron Inn in Gunwalloe and Boo Koos in Helston also favourites.

  • "A fabulous property - very spacious and comfy, well appointed, and in a fabulous location."

Lovely views all around. Access to the property and to the local beaches was excellent. The beach was great too - clean and not too busy. We really appreciated the milk and Cornish cream tea that was waiting in the fridge for us and the owner was very friendly. We would definitely re-book Hingey Farmhouse. It might be worth considering leaving more than one set of keys to the property for future as we didn't always all arrive back at the same time.

  • "An absolutely fantastic place to stay!"

The house itself had everything we needed including a big garden which the kids loved playing in during the evening. The hosts invited us to the cows being milked everyday which the kids really enjoyed and were always made to feel welcome. Location is great, church cove beach just 2 minutes down the road was perfect and not too busy. Would highly recommend staying at Hingey Farmhouse, we definitely hope to go back soon.

  • "Hingey Farmhouse was perfect for our stay and family reunion with people coming from several parts of the UK and Europe."

The cream tea, milk and flowers the owner left for our arrival was a lovely welcome and much appreciated. The accommodation is spacious - and even big enough for the 30 of us at the party in less than perfect weather!! Situated right on the SW Coast path it was perfect for the walkers among us and I would recommend it highly. My only (constructive) criticism was the lack of an extractor fan in the kitchen as the grill repeatedly set off the fire alarm every time it was used - and the flies were a nuisance, despite keeping the doors closed, the net curtains at the windows and repeated spraying with fly spray, though it is a working dairy farm so not a lot you can do about that! Thank you to the owners for a fantastic stay even in poor weather!

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Hingey Farmhouse."

The owners, Jane and Nick, made us feel so welcome. The home is on a working dairy farm and we were invited to watch the cows being milked. We also saw the calves (one of which had been born that day). The kids (aged 13, 9 and 7) all loved the experience. The home is in a lovely quiet lane and there is a big area of grass ideal for kicking a ball around and having a bbq. A car is needed to get around but we stayed relatively close - the coastal walks on the doorstep were beautiful. Lots of amenities nearby in Helston (Flambards was a great day out for the children aged 15, 13, 11 & 7). All in all, a great holiday and we were sad to leave!

  • "Our overriding feeling was that the photos don’t do the cottage justice."

This is such a lovely house, well equipped with anything you could need and attentive but not overbearing owners always happy to show young (or old!) children around the farm to watch the cows being milked etc. The immediate area around the cottage is quiet as a result of being sited on a track off the main road, but this road is quiet anyway as it stops at Gunwalloe. Great stay and would stay again for certain.

The owner was very friendly, checked in on us the first night, which was lovely. When we arrived, the fresh flowers, scones jam and cream were a lovely touch and being able to make a cup of tea after a very long drive as there was milk available, was very welcome. We really enjoyed our stay, we had plenty of room and our 10 month old grandaughter will miss doing crawling laps around the huge kitchen! All in all, we would totally recommend a stay at Hingey Farmhouse.

Plenty of room for the 9 of us. A lovely big table for us all to sit around and eat at together. Plenty of plates and cutlery to cover breakfast and dinner before the dish washer goes on and a seat for everyone in the living room. A nice big smart tv in the living room. Surprisingly good wifi. We all slept well in the comfy beds. The kids loved the table tennis and playing on the swings at the front and we had a lovely walk along the coast to Porthleven and back. Jane was a wonderful host. There were only a couple of issues, the kitchen sink was leaking which we reported and the front and back door yale locks had obviously been loose for a while (which I fixed in a couple of minutes)

  • "We had a lovely week."

Lovely farmhouse in a perfect location, comfy beds, kitchen very well equipped and the games room and garden was a big hit. Jane was very welcoming and we enjoyed the cream tea on arrival. We unfortunately didn’t manage to visit the cows being milked which I really wish we had but it was either pouring with rain or we were out at the time of the milking, making the most of the sun while it was out. there are a few little things that we would add to make it better. For a farmhouse that sleeps 10, we were 3 families and we struggled to dry our washing with only one small airer (and rainy days meant we couldn’t dry washing outside) so adding another two airers would help hugely! The wifi was cut off at 9.30/10pm every evening but one evening it cut off at 8.30pm. It also cut off once or twice in the afternoon randomly. This was quite annoying for our teenage children especially. There was a Hoover in the downstairs bathroom cupboard which we tried to use at the end but found it didn’t work and the live wires going into the plug were dangerously exposed, the Pap test sticker had expired, my husband being the handy man that he is rewired the plug so we could use it. There was only one small bin outside for bin bags which was taken away half way through the week and didn’t come back. Also one small box and bag provided for recycling which we quickly filled so we had to throw away a lot of things that could have been recycled. Also no food bin provided which would have been handy as the kitchen bin started smelling. 10 people make a lot of rubbish. The bed in the room with the en suite would be great if a headboard was added. Overall a lovely stay at a lovely farmhouse in a beautiful location. The area we know well but it is just stunning no matter how many times we come back. Also , the Pub down the road was lovely! Thank you for a great week.

The beds were fresh and comfortable. Everything you could possibly need was supplied. Scones, jam, cream, milk and tea bags were there and a lovely vase of flowers to welcome us. The owner came to greet us and said to just ask if we had any problems or needed anything. The location and views were brilliant. The children loved seeing the cows and collecting the eggs. The garden was a bonus which we all enjoyed to sit, play and bbq in, even flying a kite. Me and my husband and two daughters with husbands and children all had a lovely holiday. Thank you.

The only part that works properly was the toilet handbasin hot tap took forever to deliver walls, hot water and the shower cubicle, small and claustrophobic, it would’ve been nicer. Has it been a little less rustic and a bit more homely?

The local area is very remote and nice and quiet with some incredible views nearby. I would say there are certain things that need updating such as needing cooking/BBQ utensils and bedding was too thick for the time of year with no option as a spare. Also providing hand towels would of been nice. The owners are lovely and friendly and happily shown us around their dairy farm to watch cows being milked. The enclosed garden was also a nice touch to allow young children to be able to play outside. Would highly recommend to others. If they purchased a hot tub it would be icing on the cake.

Thank you for your feedback. The owner is nearby and is willing to help with any problems. We appreciate you pointing out the BBQ utensils as these needed attention and have now been replaced. - The Owner Relations Team. Property Owner

The only reason we did not give full marks for comfort is because we have a king size bed at home and always find a double a bit small! That was the only reason. The facilities are very good; our only suggestions to improve would be another tv, possibly in the kitchen/diner or in the playroom. A beautiful beach is only a ten minute walk/2 min car drive away and shopping is excellent in Helston. If you want to see the cows being milked the Farmer and his son were most helpful and happy to explain anything. Egg collecting each morning was always a hit with the 3 younger ones (teenager not so much!) Jane left us a cream tea with masses of clotted cream and beautiful flowers in the hall and kitchen diner. The views on the nearby coastal path are breathtaking. A great week was had by all, thank you.
