• "A wonderful comfy cottage in a brilliant location."

  Excellent beds, facilities and cleanliness. Would definitely recommend this super cottage. The only thing that needs clarification is bins and recycling. We only had a green bin whilst neighbours had a black and a compost bin. So we just put everything in one bin which felt wrong.

• "Just had a great week stay in Poldark Cottage to celebrate two Birthdays, the cottage was beautiful, clean comfortable and everything we could possibly need, and plenty of room for our two cars right outside the door."

  Enjoyed the log fire on the cold evenings, in saying that we were blessed with good weather all week so we were able to get about and go on walks around Charletown. We would definitely recommend the cottage and would stay there again. Ann Mike Clair & Michael

  Charlestown is delightful and there is so much to do in and around. The cottage has everything you need but it would be nice to have a folder of a few instructions about a few items. But this is minor. It is comfortable and perfect for a home away from home.

  Very well equipped and great showers. Excellent communication with the owner who was very helpful providing fans and a bbq. The appliances in the kitchen were top class, great oven and huge fridge freezer. Good washer, rotary fried and aider and tumble dryer Fabulous holiday home.

  Fantastic to just get up early and wander around the harbour before breakfast. The cottage was spotlessly clean and warm on our arrival. The beds were so comfy, the bedding really cosy. The kitchen was really well equipped it had everything we could possibly need. Great to come in after long walks and relax in front of the log burner. We had a lovely stay

• "Beautiful cottage, great location and spotlessly clean."

  Very well equipped kitchen, everything you could need. Quality furnishings. Been decorated and re-carpeted since original photos on Sykes. Not sure you could park 3 cars but we managed with 2 (suv and an estate) cars. TV remote needs new batteries as had to swap with dvd ones, gas fire lighter was empty/didn't work, only minor things but other than that a lovely stay, good communication with owner too. Thank you

• "The house was lovely and comfortable in a great location."

  The facilities were as we expected and we particularly appreciated the log burner which kept the living room lovely and warm. Kitchen utensils were better than we've had in other rentals, so we had everything we needed for meal prep. We had to turn the central heating down as it kept kicking in through the night. And we turned radiators in the bedrooms down as they were far too warm, which is much better than being too cold! We had a wonderful week there - thank you.

• "This cottage was definitely the best one I have ever stayed in."

  Three big bedrooms with two bathrooms was a great size for us to stay in at New Year. The house is tastefully decorated and feels like a real home from home. The parking is a real bonus and the location, 50m from the harbour, pubs etc is excellent. We would not hesitate in staying here again.

  Easy short walk to the harbour and cafes etc, which is very good as my parents who have bad arthritis can manage the walk and love the house! as we do. The updates to the house look great! Poldark cottage great for any age.

• "Lovely cottage, spacious and well equipped."

  Fantastic location with easy access to places of interest. Parking was good. Only downside was the lack of maintenance of both front and back gardens e.g. full of weeds in the paving, cracked paving stones and wall and mismatched furniture. Not what we would expect of a 5* property.

• "Great cottage."

  Excellent location - close to the wonderful harbour and pubs/restaurants. We struck it lucky with the weather so we were able to walk from Charlestown to Carlyon Bay which was well worth it. Parking is limited - it would be difficult if you had more than one vehicle. The cottage was exceptionally clean and had all the amenities we needed to make our stay enjoyable, the only issue was the double bed wasn't very comfortable as the mattress had seen better days. Unfortunately, there is a business at the back of the cottage and they were very noisy early in the morning (05:30) so a lie-in wasn't on the cards. Nevertheless, would fully recommend it.

• "We all had a wonderful time at Poldark cottage."

  The Cottage was spacious, extremely clean and decorated and furnished to the highest quality. We had everything we needed. It was in a great location, within a very short walk to restaurants and harbour, literally a couple of minutes. There was also the added advantage of parking. There were Three couples and so Three cars, but there was plenty of room. The Cottage also had outside space with patio furniture and canopy. We all enjoyed the garden on our return from days out. We had a fantastic stay and look forward to staying again.

• "We are very big on recycling at home."

  Being with the family on holiday there was quite a lot of waste but no recycling facilities or any guidance in the house.No hand towels which seemed strange.Other than that we had a lovely holiday in a very homely house..

• "Location is perfect, and would definitely be happy to book another stay there if we were visiting the area."

  The house is well appointed and maintained and works well for 6 adults. The compact garden is more than functional and catches the sun perfectly from late morning into the evening. The owners were keen to help with the one minor question we had when we were down there, visiting in person to solve the situation. The only (very) minor issues were the lack of soap on arrival, and a trickyTV system to figure out, but all in all I would definitely recommend this property to any group of 4-6 people

  Charlestown was delightful & can recommend the takeaway fish & chips down by the harbour. Thoroughly enjoyed our week there. All restaurants were very good at the social distancing rules but beware you do need to book in advance. I am sure we will be returning one day.

• "The cottage was perfect."

  Very comfortable, plenty of wardrobe space in every bedroom, bathrooms were excellent. Kitchen very well equipped and a lovely garden. The location was also perfect for us with two children aged 7 and 10. We had a very wet week but they loved rock pooling which was directly on our doorstep. They also enjoyed watching the tide come in each day. Couldn’t fault the cottage at all.

  Parking for 3 cars was great as we all came from different parts of the country. Cottage was very well equipped, plenty of mugs, glasses etc so we didnt have to keep washing up. Bedrooms of a good size and showers both worked well. Everything was immaculately clean. Would definitely return to Poldark Cottage - even the sun shone!

  The cottage was very tastefully decorated and furnished with every convenience. The bathrooms were excellent and spotless. The kitchen was also a delight. The beds were comfortable. Everything matched, was new and yet it all felt homely. We also used the garden/terrace with its large table and 6 chairs...again, a great facility, particularly in the super weather we had. Outstanding!!

  Nicely decorated, spotlessly clean, very comfortable and absolutely everything you might need in the kitchen. We really loved our stay here and enjoyed walking around the harbour as well as using the house as a base to visit the local area. We will definitely be back, although we do tend to travel around the country. Will be hard to match this property elsewhere for future holidays.

• "What an amazing location."

  The cottage was perfect and well equipt with two showers which was a bonus. We stayed over Christmas and it felt like home from home. The mince pies and clotted cream that were there when we arrived was a nice touch.It was spotless and very comfy in all areas.Would definitely recommend to friends and family and would love to go back in the summer as an excellent base for seeing Cornwall.

Walking from cottage (coastal path in both directions, Pinetum gardens) and places to visit a short drive away (Eden Project, Heligan, Screech Owl and lots more).

  It was in an excellent position with a very short walk to the harbour but up a lane that was quiet. Parking spot was also very useful as Charlestown can be very busy. There was a private garden at the back and the house was furnished very well, with all the facilities we needed. We would definitely love to stay there again.

There was nothing that had been missed, the provision of tea coffee etc including a pint of milk to enable us to make a hot drink on arrival was really appreciated. It was a wonderful holiday and didn't want to leave.

  Its rear garden is quite private and a good place to chill out, with a drink or two, under the sunshade. Situated right in the centre of Charlestown, with its own parking, made it a good base from which to investigate the local area. It is two minutes walk from the old historic harbour, a small array of shops, several good restaurants and two pubs. Definitely recommend The Long House and Wreckers, both had excellent food and service. This property is well above average, in a good location, we were very happy with our choice.

  A two minute walk takes you to Harbour cafes, shops. We were not disturbed by any noise as the lane to the house is quiet as it's a no through lane.The garden has lovely patio table and chairs with awning so you can sit out and enjoy the sound of the brook that runs past the back of the house. We would definitely recommend Poldark cottage and would book again. Thank you for a brilliant stay in Poldark Cottage Charlestown.
