The property

Suntrap House is a charming, one-bedroom stone and slate-tiled barn conversion which occupies a fabulous position above turquoise harbour waters in the picturesque fishing village of Portloe.

Boasting stunning coastal and sea views, this pet-friendly property on the South West coast path is the ideal base for exploring the Roseland Peninsula, perfect for couples or solo travellers looking for a relaxing retreat to one of the most beautiful parts of Cornwall.

Walk up slate covered steps from the lane to enter the private front patio, ideal for al fresco breakfast and morning coffee whilst enjoying the spectacular views.

The front door leads into the hallway with slate floor. Enter the comfortable open plan living area with large sofa and armchairs and dining area. A bright and cosy space, drenched with sunlight, perfect for relaxing, reading or enjoying a special evening in.

Head up a few steps to the kitchen, equipped with oven, hob, microwave, fridge with ice box, toaster and kettle (no dishwasher or washing machine).

The large kitchen window has panoramic views of the sea and cliffs.

Sit here to enjoy a spectacular sunrise or bright moonlight over the water.

Steps up to the shower room, equipped with large shower cubicle, WC and basin and then on to the pretty bedroom with new king size bed, plenty of storage and hairdryer.

Climb up to the large back terrace via steep steps up through the garden. Enjoy the afternoon sunshine and spectacular views from the sun loungers whilst reading or treating yourself to afternoon cream tea or a glass of fizz. Note: the garden area is not completely dog proof for adventurous dogs and has some steep drops.

Even if the weather is not always kind to you, Portloe harbour in a storm is a mesmerising experience. A wind-swept walk on beautiful Carne beach is invigorating and refreshing.

The weather never stays the same for long!

There is narrow roadside parking just beyond Suntrap House suitable for luggage drop off.

It is recommended that you park in the large village car park (payment in honesty box).

Described as 'the jewel in the crown of the Roseland Peninsula', Portloe is a very pretty, quiet and picturesque coastal village well-known for its fishing and walking opportunities. Working fishing boats still depart daily to catch crab and lobster which are served at the Lugger Hotel and Restaurant at the harbour (check availability). The village pub serves good food and a selection of local ales (check opening times).

Enjoy fantastic coastal walks with spectacular scenery in both directions along the South West Coast path, either for a short morning stroll or all-day circular walking routes.

Nearby are safe, wide sandy beaches, with parking, perfect for exploring and dog walking.

The nearest is Carne Beach.

National Trust coastline, gardens and properties are within easy reach - Trelissick Gardens via the King Harry Ferry.

Venture a little further afield to explore the historic cathedral city of Truro with its cobbled streets, restaurants and theatre. Visit the world-famous Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, the National Maritime Museum at Falmouth and Charlestown Historic Maritime Village. Spend time at the large pretty harbour villages of Megavissey and St. Mawes.

There are so many wonderful days out within easy reach.

Enjoy all this and more when you book a scenic stay at Suntrap House.
