"Beautiful location near Truro surrounded by nature."
It was great for a family holiday. The modern accommodation is spacious and all on one level making it very accessible. Nice and clean throughout. Overall very happy with our experience.

"On walking through the front door, we both said “Wow”."
Very impressive hallway and then we went into the lounge/dining/kitchen. Everything was of a high standard. The bedrooms and en suite shower rooms were impressive and the walk in shower room we renamed The Ballroom - it was huge.
The kitchen was very well equipped with washing machine, tumble drier, dishwasher, fridge and freezer as well as high quality crockery, glasses, cutlery and cook wear. Couldn’t think of anything that I needed which wasn’t provided. There was even a Lavazza coffee machine with pods and a welcome pack containing Cornish shortbread biscuits, fudge and tea which was a lovely touch.
The beds were extremely comfortable and provided a very good night’s sleep.
The decking area provided the opportunity to sit outside in the sun - yes it did shine for the majority of our 2 week break - and enjoy morning coffee as well as entertaining friends for lunch.
Michelle, the property manager, was extremely helpful. Nothing seemed too much trouble for her to deal with - thank you.
Would we return to Elm Lodge? You bet we would.

"We had a lovely stay."
The location was great for exploring Cornwall. The lodges were on a very quiet location, with lovely countryside views. Yet only a very short drive to Truro.
The lodge is clean, spacious and well equipped. It has a spacious balcony to sit out on sunny days.
The only downside is we found the floors really creaky, which probably isn’t an issue for most, however when putting our toddler to bed, we found it disturbed him getting in and out of the room/walking along the hall: this probably won’t bother most people’s stay though and was only a minor inconvenience of an otherwise very lovely stay

We found the cottage very well equipped with all the white goods you need kitchen was nice the wheel in shower was great very powerful.
There was plenty of shops nearby .

"The only thing I would change is the position of the television in the lounge."
It is far too high. I know there’s a trend for placing TVs high on a wall (typically above a fire place) but it only works if you are standing up (like in a pub) otherwise it’s literally a pain in the neck when trying to watch from the comfort of the settee.

"The site is located just a 5 min drive from Truro, and near to 3 main supermarkets and the town centre."
The site is very peaceful away from the main road, good for walks around the surrounding countryside - however we used it more as a base for exploring the surrounding area. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are about 40-50 min away the beaches just outside of Hayle around 30 min, the fantastic Porthcurno beach, Land’s End, and the Tin Coast a bit further - probably 1hr to 1hr 20 depending on traffic.
The lodge is well kitted out with all main appliances and smart TV’s in each bedroom and the living area (not Apple TV).
Enough crockery for a family, but could do with more if the dishwasher is to be used efficiently.
Facilities at the site are lodges only, so bring ball games etc. we brought a Swing ball and left it up all week.
The deck is nice for an evening meal / drink.
We thought a great addition would be a hot tub for sunny evenings / sunsets to put the icing on the cake!
All in all it met our needs, some small tweaks to make recycling easier, the decking door needed some play to close, and we couldn’t get the outside lights to work (but could just have been us!) but otherwise a very enjoyable stay to explore the surrounding area. Many thanks!

"The Elm was spotlessly clean, well equipped to a high standard."
As in other reviews the floorboards do creak a lot and are loud, so if anybody is a light sleeper it can be a problem. Do to the hot weather the patio door seems to stick so is very hard to shut.

"My husband and I stayed at The Elm with my mother and it was a really lovely and quiet place to stay without being overlooked."
We were greeted by Michelle who was absolutely lovely. Everywhere was well maintained and clean inside. A fabulous lodge and perfect for our needs.
The only small annoyance was the creaky floorboards that were everywhere. I found myself trying to get down the corridor figuring out where to walk to prevent creaks like Indiana Jones avoiding booby traps.
Windows could have done with a clean on the outside as the view was lovely and was spoilt by the cobweb’s. However it was the countryside so I am probably being a bit picky even though the spiders were huge.

"Overall the property was spacious, clean, and good value for money."
The three bedrooms are large with TV and the two en-suite are clean and modern. If I was to be picky they need a shaver/ electric toothbrush socket and my wife said that it would have been nice to have a full length mirror. The premises are in the middle of nowhere and the golf club is abandoned so the nearest bar and shop is a couple of miles away up a very steep road. Overall the accommodation is excellent but you are a drive away from any amenities.
Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback which has been discussed with the owner. A shaver/electric toothbrush socket is fitted to the sides of the illuminated mirrors in the bathrooms in each lodge. Full length mirrors are now also provided in each of the lodges.
