  • "Beautiful property!"

Really clean on arrival. Quite spacious compared to other shepherd huts that we have stayed in. Seating area is comfortable and the little fire was perfect for November. The bed was comfortable and bathroom was a good size. Kitchen was well equipped and had a proper oven/grill and hobs. The listing doesn't state a toaster, but one was supplied. Outside seating with a lovely view of the sea in the distance. Cannot fault our stay at all. The owners were on call if necessary, but it was nice to be left to our own devices. Lovely area that was perfect for all the touristy attractions.

  • "Had a fantastic holiday overall."

Unfortunately the weather wasn’t brilliant all week, but that’s the only negative. The shepherds hut is perfect in every way. The bed is super comfortable. Great size shower. Easy to use cooking facilities & lovely to have some fresh milk, tea & coffee on arrival, also cider & traditional Cornish fairings. Loved the fresh flowers & pumpkin decorations. John & Haidee are lovely people who will gladly help out with any situation that might arise during your stay. Thank you for all your help.

  • "It is exactly what we expected and wanted."

The hut was smack bang in the middle of everything, we could do a trip to lands end and Boscastle, and the max journey would be 1 1/2 hr from the hut. We would go to st Ives every night as it only 10 mins drive away to sit by the beautiful harbour with an ice cream (rain or shine). I would say it has been the best holiday in a long time, the only con was the rain but we are in late September in Cornwall, so what do you expect. Nothing a couple of water proofs and an umbrella can’t handle. But even with the wind and cold nights, the shepards hut stayed lovely and warm and we had no need to light the log burner. The hut was all that 2 people needed for the week, I wouldn’t add anything else, it was perfect. With an added bonus of being able to park right next to the hut, we had no worries. The place was so calm and peaceful, it felt like you were in your own little home. The people that own the farm were lovely and kind, and gave us lots of suggestions on where to go. When we next come to Cornwall we would love to stay in little pip again and we will definitely recommend our family and friends.

Great location and view. Comfortable bed and fabulous shower. Well equipped and a lovely little welcome pack, fresh milk in the fridge, lovely attention to detail, I loved the fresh flowers. The owners were lovely and helpful when asked. I’d love to return one day.

Completely peaceful and within reaching distance of the main town. The owner was very nice and gave us lots of great advice about where to go/what to see. Would definitely recommend.

  • "Our stay at Little Pip was delightful."

It is close to a lot of interesting places and yet in a very peaceful and quiet setting. It may be small but it had everything we needed with each area well maintained and thoughtfully set out to make the most of the space. Our hosts John and Heidi had left biscuits and a delicious apple juice as well as tea, coffee and milk to welcome us. We found the kitchen and dining area to be most adequately equipped for the two of us and we ate in most nights. The bed is very comfortable and also has a lovely view of the sea from the window as does the kitchen/living area. While the weather did not allow us to use the outside sitting area much, the seats were very comfortable and there is a lovely view from there too. The large powerful shower gives a spacious feel to the spotlessly clean and modern bathroom. John and Heidi are kind and friendly, they gave us privacy during our stay but were immediately there to help when we were leaving and had a problem with the car. We found some lovely walks with the aid of a guide book provided, found tea rooms in beautiful settings, went to the Minack and another open air event at the local Penlee Park. We would love to come again. Thank you John and Heidi

  • "This was truly the best holiday I’ve had in years."

I sat back and enjoyed the views, watching the boats come into the harbour each night, as yes you really can see the sea! Everything was so close at hand from walking from the door through to a short drive away. It was my first holiday totally on my own, and as a female, I felt totally safe and secure. Thank you!!!

The views are outstanding and the history is fascinating. We were very relieved to return to Little Pip late afternoon, our snug haven. The hut is beautiful and well designed for a comfortable stay.Haidee’s attention to detail and design leaves nothing wanting.Everything we needed was on hand.Hot showers and wood burner soon had us cosy and warm. The location is very convenient.Penzance is in walking distance and there is an excellent bus service so we didn’t have to walk back up hill after a day’s trek and we often did without the car.We appreciated the local apple juice, cider and biscuits thank you.Haidee and John are excellent hosts.

  • "Beautiful little stay, stunning views, little pip had everything you would need in a little kitchen, we only cooked once in it as we ate out a lot, but could easily cook a meal in it, lovely and clean and cozy, we did find it quite warm in the nights but then we were lucky to stay there the hottest week of the year with heatwave, and I personally couldn’t sleep with window wide open as the flying evening bugs got in, but that’s just me, if you kept bedroom and bathroom window open there is a lovely breeze, bed was very comfy and the shower was also amazing, will definitely re book and return, bumped into the owners once or twice who are lovely and offered if we needed anything to just shout."

Beautiful in the summer but would also love to go back in winter as would imagine it would be very cozy with the wood burner going.

  • "We stayed at Little Pip for 3 days."

It was clean, comfortable and as described. It is obvious the owner had made a huge effort to get everything just right. The area is lovely and the views were awesome. If you are following the directions given and have got as far as the holiday park, you have gone too far, but you're nearly there! Lovely shower, comfortable bed and oven all worked well. Would I stay here again? Definitely yes. This is perfect for two people.

About the location

GULVAL

Penzance 1.5 miles.

Gulval is a village in the former Penwith district of Cornwall. Although historically a parish in its own right, Gulval was incorporated into the parishes of Penzance, Madron and Ludgvan in 1934, and like Heamoor, is now considered to be a suburb of Penzance. Gulval, however, still maintains its sense of charm and parts of the village church date back to the 12th century. Other features in the village include the 1910 granite drinking fountain in the centre of the square and the Coldstreamer Inn, allegedly one of the oldest. A charming collection of Victorian houses and cottages are also dotted around what was the village square. Why not wander into the centre of Penzance, appreciated for its abundance of palm trees and gardens full of sub-tropical plants, a sure sign that you have arrived somewhere unique. Also people can visit the surfing beaches of Sennen Cove, Porthcurno. Placed of interedt would also be Minack Theatre, St Michaels mount, Poldark country, Mousehile etc making great days out to enjoy
