  • "What an amazing location - and it's all about the location and the view."

We never tired of the view. I used to spend holidays as a teenager with relatives who lived on The Lizard so it was good to be back after all these years (27 years...) There was only two of us plus dog so having a 5 bed house to ourselves was an indulgence. Well furnished, clean, tidy and comfortable. Could do with more places to sit in rooms other than the living room ( chairs in the kitchen perhaps?) We loved our time here. Perfect time of year to get good weather and the beach to ourselves Others have mentioned the track leading to the property - that's the cost of staying off the beaten track I guess. Luckily we do have a 4 x 4 with good ground clearance. I wouldn't want to attempt it in much less. It didn't put us off and it's going to be hard to match Wild Acres for next years birthday week away.

  • "This place far exceeded our expectations."

The views stretching across the Lizard Coast were nothing short of stunning. It's just a short walk to the beach and has a great outdoor area for eating or relaxing in the hot tub. If the weather turns, we would have no problem relaxing inside either. If we had one gripe, it would be that the path leading in is a bit of a hassle. 90% of it is fine, albeit bumpy, but all the issues were on that final slope. Even the 4x4s had problems gaining traction while making their way back up on the loose gravel. (Our small hatchback managed to make it up, but with a slight push.) Not essential but would be nice: an outdoor shower to rinse off all the sand when you're making your way back from the beach or getting in and out of the hot tub. But that's certainly not a deal-breaker. All in all, this place was amazing for a group getaway, and despite the issue with the path in, we will certainly be returning next year.

  • "Myself and 9 friends celebrated my 40th here and we had the most amazing experience."

The views are spectacular and the bbq/hot tub area makes the place even more special. We were very lucky with the weather which made the weekend more pleasant. Luckily we are all fit and healthy to cope with the steep rocky climb up to the house from the beach. I think the description of the house needs to include the level of exertion required by people, as some less able would struggle. I also think the place could include outdoor blankets for colder evenings by the bbq area. Unfortunately the narrow rocky lanes leading to the house meant that we couldn't get our cars up the lane during one afternoon as the stones/rocks became too loose and the car tyres were just spinning, meaning we couldn't leave the house. Despite this unfortunate incident, the maintenance people were very quick to correct this and brought a tractor to compress the road within hours of reporting it. We still feel like we had the most amazing experience at Wild Acres and would definitely return.

  • "As per other reviews for this property getting to the property is a real pain and some cars would struggle with the road and the final slope."

However once you get past that the journey is worth it. The setting is absolutely fantastic and the property very clean and spacious and absolutely ideal for a family holiday. It really is a special place. The outside is just wonderful and we were lucky enough to have the weather to utilise it. Lovely place.

  • "The kitchen lacked functionality, utensils & cleanliness - sink, microwave, dishwasher & oven were disgusting."

We had to do a thorough clean before using anything! One oven dish was actually glued together & fell apart in the oven, whilst full of food! No kitchen basics, e.g. salt, pepper, oil or welcome pack e.g. tea, coffee, milk. Their was extreme damp & running water into the porchway, outside of the kitchen. Mould in small shower room/bathroom. There were stains on the carpet when we arrived, which we removed ourselves Our car needed substantial fixing at the front of it, from scrapping on the driveway trying to get up the steep dirt track (full of deep pot holes) from the property to the access gate. This needs a complete overhaul. Needs a "Private Property" sign on the driveway gate; we had quite a few people just wander in & one of our dogs is nervous :( On the plus side, the bedrooms & living room were lovely; as are the grounds & the situation.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Wild Acres despite the wet weather!"

Our arrival was marred by sat nav taking us to wrong location, some miles away. I would recommend using Google maps and your notes should clarify that Gwentner Rd is that running through the village of Gwentner and the farm track leads off this. A sign there would be helpful or direct guests to follow signs to Trerenwith farm. The track is much worse than we expected, especially the last steep bit leading to the property. Given the weather, we had to use sun room as drying room for coats and boots. The back door was unusable due to large puddle. If you are accommodating 10 people , 6 single coat hooks and mugs is rather mean. Also more hooks needed in bathrooms for drying towels. 2 small towel rails is not enough. A few small things but spoiling an otherwise delightful property.

  • "Stunning location but an SUV or 4x4 is absolutely needed to access the property."

The 0.7 mile drive from the property is extremely bumpy / uneven and not one you’d want to do very often during your start….and we had a Jeep Wrangler. When the weather is as hot as it was during our visit, the conservatory is unbearable, blinds are needed here as well as in the living area. Handing areas are need, no where to hang clothes on the bedroom, no where to hang towels in the bedrooms/ bathrooms and no toilet roll holders. The walk down to the beach in inaccessible for some individuals, those with disabilities or elderly with walking issue, breathing difficulties will not cope well at all. The induction job is a nightmare, and very inconsistent temperamental. The oven also takes an extremely long time to come to temperature.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We have taken your comments on board and will look at possibly adding blinds at some point in the future. In the meantime, we have since added new cupboards for clothes. Please find full instructions for the induction hob at the property, this along with the oven are in good working order. • "Amazing views and setting."

Cottage easy to use and all ran smoothly. Only comment is that crockery was fine for us as we were 4 - would have been tougher for a larger group, especially the champagne glasses!

  • "Our stay at Wild Acres was a blend of beautiful moments and significant disappointments."

While the property itself is situated in a fantastic location, certain factors dampened our overall experience, some of which seemed easily avoidable. On a positive note, Wild Acres boasts a great location that made our stay memorable. We appreciated the efforts made by our hosts to rectify issues as they arose, demonstrating their dedication to creating a pleasant experience for us. However, our arrival was marked by the absence of a number of amenities that were promised in the listing (and I notice that the listing has not been amended since). It was disheartening, to say the least, as we had specifically chosen this holiday home for a special family celebration. The most striking discrepancy was the external kitchen - while the listing explicitly mentioned a sink, fridge, dishwasher, and barbecue, we found only a sink on our arrival. The hosts did provide disposable BBQs later, but the missed opportunity to cook outdoors and enjoy the stunning terrace view over our first two days was a disappointment. Further, the shortage of an outside fridge was exacerbated by the inadequate size and missing shelves of the inside fridge, which limited our capacity to store our cold items effectively. Apart from this, there were minor frustrations such as an unexpected shortage of wine glasses - for a five-bedroom house, it's quite odd to initially only provide five wine glasses. Even though more were delivered later, it would have been preferable to have the appropriate amount from the beginning. Additionally, our request for a stair gate, made prior to our arrival, was unfulfilled. We also encountered maintenance issues such as a broken plug and lock in the bathrooms - issues that were rectified later, but marred our initial experience. Overall, we had a great time at the property but felt that we did not get what we had paid for.

  • "Your General Feedback Would you like to provide feedback about the holiday property?"

This will be shared with the property owner. Beautifully located property with exquisite views of the ocean. Close walk to the beach. Clean, spacious and family friendly. Sad the barbecue was removed as the views and entertainment area are amazing for outdoor grilling. I requested baby items and there was a cot and high chair provided but no safety gate. Would suggest a safety gate be provided as the stairs are steep for children.

  • "Thank you for letting us stay at your lovely cottage."

We had a lovely time. We enjoyed the view it was stunning and great for the dogs too. Hot tub was amazing. Just a couple of things the access to the property is very difficult there are alot of pot holes and bushes were overgrown. Very steep hill coming down to the property. The property would benefit from having wardrobes in the downstairs bedrooms as there’s only a chest of drawers. But the owners were lovely and the property is clean and tidy and well equiped. If access was better would have stayed again

Thank you for your feedback. The lane to the property is by shared access, so we are limited on this matter, we will however keep on top of the bushes, this is in hand. Space in the downstairs bedrooms is a bit of an issue, but we have taken your comments on board and will look to possibly add open wardrobes. Property Owner
